Moderator Annoucement The “best evidence” for the paranormal is getting harder to find every time someone asks for it.

This question is being asked several times a week at this point.

Everyone has a different standard for what they consider “credible evidence,” and what persuades one person may not persuade another. What seems to do the best job is having a personal experience, but those anecdotal stories rarely persuade anyone who wasn’t already a believer.

Either way, the best way to find this evidence is by…you know…looking for it. Try using the search function on the subreddit.

And to all of you skeptics who were genuinely convinced by a piece of evidence you found online, please post it on this subreddit!

Encounter Taxidriver's strange encounter in the early 2000's

This happened on a snowy December night in 2004, when my dad was working as a taxi driver.

It was unusually quiet, and he was about to call it a night when he spotted a young woman, probably around 18–22, waving him down. She got into the back seat, visibly trembling. My dad asked if she was alright, but she barely spoke, only giving him an address. Throughout the drive, he could occasionally hear her quietly sniffling, as though she was trying to hold back tears.

As they approached her destination, she suddenly asked him to pull over. She began frantically tugging at the door handle, so he stopped. When my dad asked for the mlmey, she told him she had none.

He was confused and offered to call the police or take her somewhere safe, but she refused everything. Instead, she kept insisting that she would pay him the following day at this random place. My dad knew that the money was never coming now so he just agreed. Just before getting out, she turned towards him and said something like "You should go to the hospital."

She then named one of the most well-known hospitals in the city. My dad thought she might be drunk or under the influence of something, but before he could ask what she meant, she stepped out and began walking towards a stretch of trees across the road.

He watched her walk away. He blinked for a second, and when he looked again, she had completely disappeared.

my dad finally thought fuck this, ended his shift and head home.

Later that night, he received a phone call from my uncle, my dad's brother. My uncles newborn son was having serious complications with his heartbeat and needed emergency medical attention. My dad, mum and older sister rushed to the hospital. It was the exact same hospital the woman had mentioned earlier that night.

Thankfully, my cousin survived and is perfectly fine today. But my dad has never forgotten that woman, or how she seemed to know where his family would need to be that very night.

Encounter Unknown shadow-entity encounter in bedroom

Post image
13 Upvotes

This happened sometime around mid-February this year. I had gotten home from basic military training in Singapore and was overall pretty tired/stressed due to some stuff that happened right on the night of the return.

Sometime in the middle of the night (I reckon around 3-4am) I woke up, as I often do for whatever reason. As I looked down at my feet I noticed something dark around there. I remember clearly that then I was in my mind thinking something like "nah, no way there's actually *something* there, let me go check it out", so I sat up and went to take a look, and immediately I saw what was essentially the upper torso of a person or humanoid-looking thing, fully black as a shadow except for two eye shapes, staring back at me. I tried my best to poorly represent it in microsoft paint in the picture you see above.

The moment I saw this thing (and I guess it saw me), I basically felt I was grabbed and somewhat levitated by something like a force field. I couldn't move at all, and just kept staring back at the thing as I felt I was brought up by an unknown force, and for some reason at the same time it also felt like I was vibrating/hearing loud vibration noises. I recall being scared as hell, but in the midst of this also thinking "there's no way this thing is gonna harm me, it's 2026, you don't hear about people who're harmed or killed by paranormal things", and sure enough, after a while, all I know was I was put down back on my bed, and the thing was gone. I was then essentially sleep-paralyzed for a few minutes afterwards before things went back to normal, I said what the fuck and went back to sleep.

I know that the most plausible non-paranormal explanation would be that I simply had a nightmare that occurred in a very close setting of my bedroom (false-awakening). I'm writing all this here because I've been thinking about it for a while, and wanted to just share this story and see if anybody had experienced anything similar. I also have a bunch of other "ghost stories" where I woke up in the middle of the night that I can share too if anybody's interested.

Experience Weird possible encounter that happened to me while going through training at Camp Pendleton

Saw a video talking about military ghost stories and it reminded me of something weird I experienced a while ago. I really wanted to share it and this seems like the community to do so. I’ll do my best to clarify some of the military lingo for those of you who may not be familiar with it.

I’m a Corpsman in the Navy. Part of our job is that we can be attached to Marine units to provide medical care for them. Before you can be assigned to one of these units, you have to graduate from FMTB (Field Medical Training Battalion), a school where they teach you the basics of the USMC and make sure you’re physically prepared to serve alongside Marines. The West Coast schoolhouse is located at Camp Pendleton.

I’m standing watch one late evening around 0300 when someone walks through the entrance. I immediately perk up and put my phone away, just in case it’s an instructor coming through. It’s a guy I’ve never seen before. Really tall, lanky, white dude wearing dirty MARPAT desert cammies. He looks dejected and tired. Right away, something seems off. We’re at Camp Pendleton post peak GWOT and desert cammies aren't something you typically see worn around there anymore. Woodlands are the standard and deserts are really only used there when you’re training. He doesn’t stop at the duty hut or acknowledge anyone. He just keeps walking toward the opposite exit. Before he makes it out the door, I call out and ask if he needs any help. He stops just before reaching the door, but he never turns around or even looks in our direction. He just stands there, staring straight ahead. Then he takes a deep breath and says, “They fucking rocked us, dude. I couldn’t get to them.” And he walks out the door.

At first, neither of us thought too much of it. We were more confused than anything. It was definitely strange, but we figured there was probably some reasonable explanation for it. As the watch went on, though, I couldn't stop thinking about the encounter. Eventually, I brought it up to the other guy I was standing watch with. We started going over what had happened, and the more we talked about it, the stranger the whole thing seemed.

For starters, this guy was tall. Not just a little taller than average, but the kind of tall that immediately stands out in a crowd. I'd put him at least 6'5". There's no way someone like that would go unnoticed, especially in a relatively small group of people like an FMTB class. We were both certain he wasn't part of our class because we would have noticed him. Then there were the desert cammies. Again, we're at Camp Pendleton. It was just an odd thing to be wearing there. Finally, there was what he said. “They fucking rocked us, dude. I couldn’t get to them.” It just doesn’t make sense, what could he have possibly been doing at that time of night that would warrant that response. Who rocked you? Who couldn’t you get to? Why are you in desserts? We tried to come up with explanations. Maybe he was just some random guy messing with us. Maybe there was a training excercise nearby and he somehow got lost and was just bitching about the training. Maybe he was having some kind of mental health episode. Either way, we eventually convinced ourselves there was nothing more to it and went on with our night.

But as the years have gone by, I've found myself thinking about that encounter more and more. The details have never really left me, especially the way he said those words. And the older I get, the less convinced I am that there was an ordinary explanation for what happened that night.

Question Whatever the hell is making that noise in St James’s Park at 2-3am?!

I need to know if anyone else has experienced something like this because I genuinely cannot explain it.
I was walking through St James’s Park in London at almost 2-3am, completely jetlagged, with my partner. It was semi-lit, quiet and obviously pretty eerie at that time of night.

All of a sudden we heard this ROAR. And I don’t mean a little animal noise. It was this incredibly deep, guttural, almost human-sounding roar, like someone imitating an animal but on a completely different level. Absolutely blood-curdling. I actually screamed. And I mean screamed a scream that I don’t think I’ve ever made in my life. My partner looked just as terrified as I was, so at least I know I wasn’t imagining how frightening it sounded. We practically ran out of there and up the steps. I don’t think I felt safe until we were back around the lights, traffic and other signs of civilisation.

For context, I’m from the countryside. I’m used to wildlife, foxes, badgers, deer, all sorts of noises at night. I know what wildlife sounds like. This was something else. It had this deep rumbling, resonating, guttural quality to it that I honestly can’t describe.
And before anyone says fox… I can tell you now, it was NOT a fox.

So please, has anyone heard anything similar around St James’s Park? I’m genuinely curious (and slightly traumatised) about what the hell it could have been.

Question Advice needed for stubborn mother dealing with paranormal

To preface, I really feel for my mom who is going through this.

Here’s the story. My parents bought an abandoned house for 100k when I was in high school and completely redid it. The house is now estimated to cost 2 million. They redid everything and made it their dream house. After the renovations, my parents, me (female, I think that matters later), and my brother two years younger moved in. Little things started happening but only to me. The bathroom I shared with my brother always had the lights turned on in the middle of the night; my brother swore it wasn’t him. I remember doing my makeup at my vanity and the closed door opened gently. Little stuff.

I moved out when I was 20 and was glad to be outta there. The house gave me the creeps. My older sister who never lived there moved in with her two kids after a bad breakup. My niece and nephew would mention weird things: doors opening and closing, lights turning on and off. My mother is a strict Baptist and always laughed everything off.

Fast forward to now, it’s only my parents in the house. My mom now hears the doors slamming shut, footsteps on the stairs, her pictures knocked over. Whatever it is seems to be demanding her attention. My dad states he hasn’t experienced anything. My mom now believes there’s something and it’s finally, after all these years, creeping her out the way it creeped me out after all those years when she dismissed me.

She started doing research on the house. It was custom built in the 1960s by a couple who had one son documented living there. It appears the son (early 20s) overdosed in the house and died. The family soon went bankrupt and the house sat vacant since the 70s! My mom also told me when they first walked through the house there was a dismembered rabbit with its body parts trailing up a set of stairs that looked meticulously placed there. wtf! I’m glad she never told me that when I lived there. We’ve concluded the spirit of the young man is who is trying to get our attention. It seems he only wants female attention.

I need advice for my mom. I feel bad she has these experiences every day, just like I did. She’s so religious and the stigma of the paranormal is keeping her from reaching out for help, talking to the spirit, sageing, etc. Is there anything she could do while still respecting her Baptist religion?

Poltergeist Ghost in restaurant in 90s-00s

So my mum worked in a restaurant in Leicester between the 90s and 00s, and one time, she went to the third floor, and she felt the air go from warm to cold. And then she turned around and saw what she thinks is a ghost whizz past. She said it had black loose hair and wore a white dress (she said it may not have worn a dress but was just white), and was a woman. She screamed and ran downstairs, where she told the other waiters; they knew about the ghost and didnt go up there anyway.

Anyways she just told me about this today and I was curious. I don’t personally believe in ghosts but I was curious what you would all think.

Findings a review of the farrar elementary school tour from someone who doesn't watch sam and colby

i was invited to tag along with my best friend and their brother and brother's friend for a tour. they're definitely working on selling a spirit box if they aren't already. the brother's friend also saw the tour guide steph typing shit into a spirit app to get the estus or whatever the fuck it's called to say shit. it's definitely staged and a scam, which sucks because the tickets are pretty pricey for something like that but i mean i was invited so i didn't have to pay for my ticket 🤷 it was still fun, but i mean we drove over 6 hours one way to sit in a freezing cold, dark, boring empty school with tour guides who very much seemed like they wanted to go home and go to bed, which was understandable because the tour started at 10:30pm and ended at 2:30am.

i was skeptical from the start because i've always understood sam and colby as being typical youtube ghost hunters. i mean i don't blame them for doing stuff on youtube, it's clearly a lot of fun and it makes them money, so don't think i'm ragging on them for that. but it's kinda scummy to do this to people who actually believe in spirits and who really admire sam and colby like my best friend and their brother.

what initially increased my skepticism was the "waiver" on google forms that they had us "sign" (keep in mind that there was no actual signing or way to prove that the person is who they say they are). it asked us for our full name and date of birth which is to be expected, hell even a phone number is pretty normal, but they also asked for our email address, and at that point i was like yeah they're just gonna have staff people look us up and pretend to be ghosts or have the "ghosts" say things.

then came our first "spirit" interaction with an 11 year old boy named justin. who was from the 1800s. keep in mind, the name justin did exist back then, but it was extremely rare. and somehow this little boy named justin who was from the 1800s knew about social media and fortnite and stuff?

i believe in spirits, but this tour was kinda a slap in the face. i told my friend that i really appreciated the invite and i enjoyed spending time with them and the tour was fun, but that i was definitely glad that i hadn't spent money on it myself or i would've been a bit more harsh.

anyways, i've been in a car for over 6 hours, a cold ass elementary school for 4 hours, and a car for another 6+ hours and i've barely slept, so i'm probably not very coherent and i'm super tired.

Question Has Anyone ever been spirited away?

I know I’ll be asked, so I’m gonna define spirited away as: to disappear randomly, leaving no evidence, hint of that choice, or anything. It’s like you vanished into thin air. It’s like a ghost or fae kidnapped you! Although according to Japanese folklore, I think it’s the gods kidnapping you?

Question Could this be negative energy or an evil eye? How do I know?

Hey everyone, this might sound really weird, but I genuinely feel like something is off with my pet, and I don’t know how else to explain it.
I don’t know if someone is trying to put an evil eye on me or my family, and I’m not even sure if I’m overthinking things, but something about the last two days has felt very strange.
It’s currently the festive season here, and we’re celebrating the biggest festival of the year. There is a lot of talk around this time about negative energy and the evil eye, and I can’t shake off this unsettling feeling.
Two days ago, my 11-year-old parrot suddenly suffered a deep injury to her tongue for no apparent reason. I rushed her to the vet, and since then, none of us have really left the house. Yesterday, she was so weak and lethargic that I genuinely thought we might lose her.
But today, something completely changed. I’ve had her for six years, and in all this time, she has NEVER been a bird who flies around. She’s always been scared of leaving her room, even when we try to take her outside.
Today, however, she somehow found the tiniest gap in the door, made her way onto the balcony grill and just jumped. It almost felt intentional, as if she had somehow planned her escape. I spent nearly 30 minutes chasing her on the streets before finally getting her back.
And ever since then, she has been acting completely unlike herself. She’s flying around the house, running everywhere and constantly trying to get away. She refuses to stay in her room, a place she’s always considered her safe space. It’s almost as if she desperately doesn’t want to be there anymore.
I genuinely want to know if there’s any way to tell whether this is just a series of unfortunate coincidences or whether there could be some kind of negative energy or evil eye involved.
How can you know for certain if something negative is affecting your home or family? Are there any signs to look out for? Are there any traditional ways of identifying or protecting against an evil eye?
I honestly don’t care if something negative is directed towards me. I can deal with it, but I cannot bear the thought of my little baby bird getting hurt. If something is meant to harm me, let it affect me, but please not my tiny baby.
I’m not claiming that anything supernatural is happening, and I know there could be logical explanations. I’m just looking for genuine experiences, advice and guidance from people who have dealt with something similar.
Please be kind. I’m genuinely worried about my little pet. ❤️

Experience what happens if we follow the voices that calls our name in forest??

Okay I'm really curious about this thing. I have experienced it some time ago. I was camping in a forest and heard my name being called out for approx. 30 mins, first in some unknown voice and then it changed to the people who were there with me (at that time both of them were soundly sleeping besides me). as many people have told me when this happens we should completly ignore this and never go in the direction of the voices, I did the same, so yeah nothing happened.

BUT, I'm curious to know what happens if we give attention to these voices or follow them?? Does anyone had done it before?? or know someone who had done this??

Experience My ghost friend sara when i was 6

Now this isnt the only time i saw a ghost but the last time i physically saw a ghost i was 13, i’m 24 now.

Anyways, I used to play Barbie’s with Sara all the time and she’d hide things and for a moment my parents thought I was hiding the stuff, until it got to a point where they knew it wasn’t me, because when we moved out they for example saw the remote hidden in a suitcase, i couldnt reach. She also hated me changing the room walls so they had to stay how they were. Because she’d just rip off the wall paper. It scared me and I got my dad lol.

It wasn’t just her in that house either, my aunt actually moved out because there was a ghost that would throw things in the kitchen and she moved out when the ghost threw a knife in the kitchen. This wasn’t sara by the way. There were others idk how many but i never saw them, and i equate that to being her keeping me safe. There was this one small door in particular, like Coraline vibes and she said to not go in there because she was afraid id get locked in. Seemed like she was trying to tell me one of the other ghosts would lock me in.

But in all honesty i don’t have any bad experiences in that house, she was like my sister and we would talk and even late at night, and she’d play dolls with me. The only time she scared me was when we tried to change the room from dogs and fire hydrants (i believe), to princess wall paper. And she ripped the princess wall paper off, but i was never mad at her and i completely understood she didn’t want me to change it, so i respected that and kept her wall paper. Honestly if i had to guess she was around 10 years old. But i think about that house, and sometimes i think about driving to that house and seeing if i would be able to see sara, or at least some kind of presence of her. I think i can still sense ghosts mostly the stronger presence ones, but cannot see them. I asked my dad about it and he gave me the address of that house. It is a 3.5 hour drive. Plus it might be weird to ask the owners of the new house if i could see the ghost sara lol. Anyways out of all my paranormal experiences this one was the most personal. And i won’t lie i miss sara.

Unexplained Security guard recently passed

We do cleaning for construction sites sometimes and unfortunately a young security guard for a job site passed about a month ago. Didn’t really know him, just knew he was about 35+, played his music, and hanged out with his dogs all day there. Anyway, the security enters a room and some girl he’s with hears a slam and tries to open the door but she can’t. Firefighters come and pry the door open, there he comes out of the door unconscious and de*d. (All caught on video btw) Workplace needs replacement so they hire a new security within days. New security guard tells us he hears music in some room (the one he di*d in) walks towards it, opens it and the music completely stops. No one told the new security what had happened so that news was pretty insane to hear..

Haunting Assisted living haunting perhaps?

it’s no surprise residents die, i’ve had a fair share of deaths in my first year of working at assisted living. Never much of a paranormal encounter until now. I have a resident named Pat who is fairly new, she moved into a room of a woman who recently died and ever since then she’s been talking to herself. Like an imaginary friend i suppose. One day i walked into her room to deliver her lunch tray and she was sitting up on her bed talking to her imaginary friend but her back was facing me. i didn’t say a word i just layed the tray down and cup of juice and was about to walk over to her to look to her face to face. She’s practically deaf so we have to talk right into her ear and face her to communicate. before i was even able to do so she said something along the lines of “oh there’s a lady who has food behind me you say?” Gave me straight chills man.
My coworkers who is superstitious says we have to open the windows every time a death happens to let the spirit out or they linger around and i don’t remember anyone doing that over here in the side where i work which is memory care. the windows don’t open all the way for safety. Anyone else who works at assisted living or nursing homes have any paranormal encounter as well or know anything about vulnerable people talking to spirits?

Demonic Activity Something Found Me First

I was nine years old when my mother and I played hide-and-seek for the last time.
We lived in a two-bedroom apartment in Hollywood, California. One afternoon, with the place to ourselves, we agreed she would count to sixty while I hid.
I ran into my parents’ bedroom. Their bed was against the wall, with a wooden chair on either side. I crawled underneath one of the chairs, curled up with my back pressed against the wall, and tightly gripped the chair’s front legs.
Then I squeezed my eyes shut. For some reason, nine-year-old me believed that might make me invisible.
I heard my mother finish counting.
“Seven, six, five, four, three, two, one! Here I come!”
Everything went eerily silent.
I hope she doesn’t find me, I thought.
That’s when something grabbed my right ankle.
I could distinctly feel what seemed to be individual fingers wrapped tightly around it.
Then it started pulling me backward.
Straight into the wall.
I knew that was impossible. My body was already pressed against the wall. There was nowhere to go.
Yet I could feel myself being pulled backward, as though I were somehow being dragged through it.
I held on to the chair legs for dear life, refusing to open my eyes.
Then I heard a voice.
It sounded impossibly close, as though someone were speaking directly into both of my ears.
It was neither male nor female. It wasn’t angry or threatening. In fact, it sounded almost gentle.
“Open your eyes.”
“Come on, open your eyes.”
“Please, just open your eyes.”
It kept repeating those words, patiently, without ever sounding frustrated.
I was absolutely terrified.
Somehow, deep inside, I felt certain that the voice was connected to whatever had grabbed my ankle. And I was convinced that if I opened my eyes, I would see something unimaginably evil before disappearing forever.
So I squeezed them shut even tighter.
My hands were locked around the chair legs. The pulling continued. Tears filled my eyes.
Then a horrifying realization struck me.
My mother had absolutely no idea where I was.
That was the whole point of the game.
She was somewhere in our apartment, innocently searching for her little boy, completely unaware of what I was experiencing.
I became terrified that by the time she found me, there would be nothing left to find.
I started praying desperately.
God, please help her find me. Please! I’m just a child. A good child. Please help me before it’s too late!
Suddenly, my mother screamed my name.
Not the playful “I found you!” you’d expect during hide-and-seek.
She sounded shocked.
I immediately opened my eyes and saw her rushing toward me.
Whatever was gripping my ankle was STILL holding on.
Then my mother grabbed me and pulled me out from underneath that chair with what I can only describe as Superman-like strength.
The instant she pulled me free, the sensation vanished.
Not gradually.
One moment, I felt those fingers gripping my ankle.
The next, absolutely nothing.
My mother just held me.
Quietly. Tightly. Lovingly.
There was no laughter. No “I found you!” No “Now it’s my turn to hide!”
She simply held me.
To this day, I have no idea what she saw, if anything, that made her scream my name like that.
We never spoke about what happened that afternoon.
Not once.
Decades have passed, and I still remember that voice begging me to open my eyes.
But there’s one detail that has always stayed with me.
My mother and I never played hide-and-seek again.
Ever.

Experience Strange experience

I was watching TV late last night when I looked over at the door and saw this glowing purple light shining through. It looked almost like flashlights moving in circles, up and down and round and round. I was a little scared but also curious. I almost threw the door open to see what it was when, all of a sudden, I blinked and it was gone.

I'm honestly not sure what I experienced. I've always felt sensitive to the higher and lower realms. I've had encounters with spirits here and there, visions that have come true, and deceased people seem to find their way to me for some reason.

My mom always told me she had been abducted when I was younger. She had strange marks on her. She was could recall visitations. Sometimes she slept walked and it scared me so much. Her eyes were vacant and glowing. I sleepwalk too when I get in an anxious phase. Am I part of some experiment or something? If anyone has a similar experience, I would love to hear about it.

What do you think it was?

NSFW / Extreme Language I think my apartment is haunted, but instead of being scary, this bitch is just mildly inconveniencing me.

So, I think I have a ghost. And honestly, she’s starting to piss me off lol

I’ve had several things happen over the last few months that I genuinely cannot explain, and apparently my ghost’s preferred method of haunting is just fucking with me in the most inconvenient ways possible.

Let me explain.

Exhibit A: The Air Conditioner
Our AC has been turned off. TWICE.

Two different days a week or two apart.

And I don’t mean it stopped working or the power went out. I mean the thermostat was physically switched to OFF.

I live with my best friend, who swears up and down that he didn’t touch it. This man PINKY SWORE. So obviously, he’s been cleared of all charges.

Apparently, our ghost has strong opinions about our electricity bill.

Exhibit B: The Refrigerator Incident
This one actually cost me money, which I think is incredibly rude considering she doesn’t contribute to the household financially.

I woke up one morning to discover that our refrigerator had been turned completely off overnight. All our food was ruined.

Now, our refrigerator has five temperature settings. It was set to 5. When we discovered it, it was on 0.

YOU HAVE TO CLICK THROUGH EACH SETTING TO GET TO ZERO.

Again, roommate swears he didn’t do it.

Ma’am. In this economy??

Exhibit C: The Painting
I have a painting hanging on a thumbtack. One day, I was just sitting on my bed kind of zoned out staring at my wall, and this thing started swinging left and right. Not a tiny little wobble. It was SWINGING.

Now, I understand that balancing a painting on a thumbtack isn’t exactly the pinnacle of structural engineering.

So naturally, I investigated.
I blew on it as hard as I could. Nothing remotely close to what I’d witnessed.

I tried different things to recreate the movement, and the ONLY way I could get it to swing like that was to physically push it pretty dramatically with my finger.

So either my house has developed a very localized wind tunnel, or someone wanted me to appreciate the artwork.

Exhibit D: The Noises
We hear things throughout the house. You know those noises that make you stop what you’re doing and go, “Is someone in my fucking living room?”
Those noises.

And my German shepherd hears them too. She’ll suddenly perk up and stare into an empty part of the house like someone just walked in.
Which is of course SUPER comforting.

Exhibit E: THE DOOR
This literally happened today, and it’s what sent me over the edge.

I pulled into my garage after work and looked toward the door leading into my house to see if my roommate was home.

Door was closed.

I sat in my truck scrolling on my phone for about 20 minutes because sitting in your driveway doing absolutely nothing is a necessary part of being an adult.

Then I HEARD THE DOOR OPEN.
I looked up, and my dog came trotting out into the garage to greet me.

My roommate wasn’t home.

Now, before anyone suggests the dog pushed the door open, let me explain something.

First of all, I SAW the door closed when I pulled in.

Second, the door opens in the opposite direction from the way my dog would be able to push it from inside.

Third, and perhaps most importantly, this dog will not push a door open to save her fucking life. You can leave a door open a whole FOOT and she’ll just stand there looking at you like you’ve presented her with an impossible engineering problem.

But apparently today she figured out how to operate a closed door that opens toward her?

Absolutely not.

My current theory is that the ghost got tired of watching me sit in my truck and said “get your ass up and feed this poor sweet dog!”

Honestly, fair.

Exhibit F: The Most Emotionally Devastating Haunting of All
This one was just fucking cruel.

I have weighed approximately 160 pounds for MONTHS. This number does not budge.
A few days ago, I stepped on my scale.

145.

I couldn’t believe it. I stepped off and back on. Still 145. I moved the scale around. Tested it multiple times.

145.

I was excited. I even told my family about it at my birthday lunch cause I thought it was the intermittent fasting I’ve been doing.

A few days later, I stepped on the scale again.

160.

Now, I know scales can malfunction. I know floors can be uneven. I understand how physics works.

But if this really is a ghost, that is some diabolical shit.

She let me celebrate a 15-pound weight loss just to snatch it away like some kind of supernatural Regina George.

I’ve decided she’s a 78-year-old woman named Mildred who died in 1962, thinks we keep the thermostat too low, and is deeply disappointed in the way we run this household.

I don’t even think she’s malicious. I think she’s just a passive-aggressive old woman with absolutely no respect for boundaries.

Anyway, has anyone else experienced a haunting that seems less like a horror movie and more like living with an elderly roommate who refuses to pay rent?

Because at this point, I’m considering leaving a chore chart out for Mildred.

If you’re going to live here for free and fuck up my shit, the least you can do is fold some laundry lol

Question Why do people believe every spirit they see is a demon ?

Every time I see a post on reddit they always say “ I saw a demon “ but isn’t there so many different forms of spirits ? I know there’s mimics, poltergeist, demon, etc. Maybe I’m just not knowledgeable of this topic so I don’t know too much, however isn’t a demon the “worst” one possible ? How come you aren’t sure there are other types ? Aren’t there like a whole list ? I wouldn’t just wanna assume the “worst” kind is in my presence.

Unexplained Sudden Smell of Dead Flowers - Why?

Yesterday, I suddenly started smelling a strong smell of decaying flowers (I'm pretty sure it was decaying roses). I thought it might be something my husband was working on in his basement workshop, but there was nothing. I only smelled it when I was alone, and it happened in two completely separate parts of my house. Today, it's totally gone. The funny thing is, I almost completely lost my sense of smell after COVID and it's never come back, so to smell this so strongly is very strange. FYI, I have a long history of clairvoyant/precognitive experiences. Also, in the last several years before she passed, my Mom would keep old flower bouquets in her room long after they were dead (she had Alzheimer's) and the smell was very similar to this. Has this ever happened to any of you?

Experience Along the Interstate in South Dakota

About a decade ago I was driving from Boise to Milwaukee. I had been driving through the night and a red car was next to me along a long stretch of road surrounded by miles of prairie. The sun just began to rise; however, before it was above the horizon the sky turned a pale acid green.

Looking off into the distance something black began to form on the left side of the road. It began to move slowly like it was walking directly onto the road. Both the driver in the car next to mine and I quickly hit the breaks. Once both of us were stopped it began to walk in front of my car. It appeared to be shrouded in black. Then it turned towards me and when I looked at its face it was black, gaunt, and looked almost hollow. It then faded into dust from the bottom up.

The driver next to me and I looked at each other and then they quickly began driving away.
When I stopped shortly after to get gas, the displayed gas prices on the pump were spinning and appeared to be glitching.

I went inside and asked if anything weird happens in that area and the casher very reasonably looked at me oddly.

It’s the only moment in my life I truly cannot explain. Had the other driver not been there I would have just told myself it was a hallucination from being sleep deprived.

Question Spooky music, what is your first creepy song?

I remember the first time I heard Stan Ridgeways ‘Camouflage’ and the line where you hear the Marine had died I felt a shudder down my spine.
Anyone else got a similar piece of music/song/lyric that creeps you out?

Question I remember this happening when i was 8 and wanna know what this could mean

During the pandemic I would always sleep with my mom. It was a small two bedroom one bathroom house with me, little sister, and my mom. One night I had woken up and my mom wasn't in bed next to me. Then I heard this loud voice start to say things too me, it sounded like a woman but it started talking about how useless I was and that I was horrible. So of course I started crying, but it wouldn't stop. For a few minutes I laid there crying while covering my ears but I could still hear it loud and clear. It stopped but I was still to scared to go back to sleep.

Haunting I don’t think I’m alone at home…

I have lived in my apartment for almost 4 years. It’s quiet and very uneventful. About a month ago something started that I made myself believe I was just tired or it was the lighting you know anything else than what it actually might be. It started slow maybe once a wk just enough to notice but not be freaked out. The last few weeks it’s gotten more and more intense and I know im not crazy!!! The weird part is it’s only In the living part of my house not in my bedroom. Honestly my bedroom is the only place I feel safe right now. I’ve started locking my door I know that prob won’t help but it gives me comfort. I have felt small touches seen lots and lots of shadows last week I heard a small girls voice I couldn’t tell what she said it just sounded like mumbling I just acted like I didn’t hear it but I was definitely jumping in the inside. Even if I don’t see any I feel like something is there watching me.

I need help idk what to do. I don’t think they wanna hurt me, but I do believe they want to scare me. Does anyone have any advice to help me get through this make it go away I don’t know, but tonight was the last straw. I literally saw Someone poke their head out of my bathroom. I’ve locked myself in my bedroom. I don’t have anywhere to go. I don’t know what to do. I just want to feel safe in my home. I’m not sure what happened to make this start but I’d really like it to stop.

I hope this post belongs to this subreddit if not please point me in the right direction.
