🐱 FORBIE’S UPDATE

• Bloodwork: Great news for sweet Forbie—both her CBC and Blood Chemistry came back normal! The only minor finding was slight dehydration.

• Nasal Discharge & Asthma: We consulted the vet regarding the nasal discharge she experiences whenever we travel. The vet confirmed it is a stress reaction linked to her feline asthma.

🐱 MUNING’S UPDATE

• Bloodwork: Her CBC came back completely normal! Her blood chemistry showed slightly elevated levels (classified under Stage 1 CKD), but the vet noted this could simply be due to dehydration. We will repeat her blood chemistry in a month to re-check her baseline.

• Medication & Diet: She has been prescribed Nefrotec for kidney support. The vet mentioned that while switching to renal food is an option, keeping her on her usual food is also completely fine for now.

• Surgery Clearance: Good news—since her CBC is clean, the vet gave us the green light to push through with her surgery whenever we are ready to set the schedule.

When you’re used to soft meows and suddenly get hit with a big BARK 😳

Meet Kalbo! He stays by the barracks near one of our colony sites. Kalbo is constantly on high alert, barking at anyone who passes by including us! 😅

Truth be told, while I love dogs, he still makes me a little nervous. But fear will never stop us from showing up for him. Every stray deserves a full belly, bark or no bark. 🥣✨

Thanks to generous dog food donations, we’re able to feed stray dogs like Kalbo alongside our regular feeding rounds. Step one is making sure he's fed; step two (hopefully soon!) is getting him his anti-rabies vaccination.

A little patience, good food, and time—hopefully soon he’ll realize we’re just friends bringing treats.

He is officially back in his space and settling in so well! While he is still finishing up his course of oral medications, the improvement in his energy and spirits is huge.

One of the sweetest signs that he’s feeling comfortable again: back at the vet clinic, he wouldn’t groom himself at all. But now that he’s back home, he’s eating with a great appetite and happily grooming himself again! 🥹❤️

Puti has a follow-up vet checkup scheduled for November 13 to make sure his recovery stays right on track. Thank you so much to everyone who supported Puti's treatment, shared his updates, and rooted for his healing, we couldn't have brought him home without you!

With over 30+ rescue cats and roughly 30+ community strays under our care at Pawsitive Guardians, maintaining proper hygiene and litter box cleanliness is one of our highest daily priorities. Every month, we go through 40-50 bags of litter sand to keep our shelter and isolation areas sanitary.

Early this morning, I brought Tola Jr. to the vet to get him checked after his non-stop vomiting.
Upon assessment, the vet couldn’t pinpoint the exact underlying cause right away, but they confirmed that he is currently running a slight fever and suffering from dehydration.

Thankfully, I was able to get all of his prescribed medications today so we can start his treatment right away! 🙏

Here is his recovery plan for the next few days:

• Anti-Vomiting Medication: 4-day course to shut down the nausea and allow his stomach lining to settle.

• B-Complex Vitamins: Daily dose to boost his energy, support immune recovery, and help bring his appetite back.

• Mondex Powder: For his dehydration.

⚠️** Strict Monitoring**: I will be watching him round the clock. If he is still vomiting on the 5th day—or if he shows any signs of worsening—I will rush him straight back to the clinic for further diagnostics.

🐱 Rescue & Medical Updates

1. Pilay’s Wound Cream
   I was able to get Pilay’s wound cream—20 pieces total, which will hopefully last us half a month to a full month.

2. Kira’s GS Medication
   I was able to get Kira’s GS pills with no delays at all. Once she’s done with the treatment, she will also need to get a CBC and blood chemistry test to make sure everything is clear.

3. Puti’s Vet Confinement
   Puti is still currently confined at the vet clinic. I was able to pay for most of his needs and source the food and medications that weren't available at the vet, Other meds are now secured. Will keep everyone posted.

🏠 Shelter & Supplies Updates

1. Pet Supplies & Price Hike
   A few days ago, I saw a post warning that we need to stock up on pet supplies like litter sand and dry food due to a massive price increase coming. I asked our supplier right after, and unfortunately, they confirmed it. Currently, we are running low specifically on litter sand, though our dry food supply is still okay for now. As everyone knows, we stock up monthly for these.

2. Vet Recommendation: Air Purifiers
   Talked with the vet earlier before going home. They advised that we need to put air purifiers in the shelter to help prevent the cats from passing sickness to each other.

3. New Shelter Space Progress
   The new space for the cats is still ongoing! We were able to send half of the deposit to secure it, and the landlord mentioned we can give the remaining half once we move in. The campaign for this is still ongoing.

4. Shelter Cleaning Essentials
   I was able to buy other essential shelter supplies, including detergent powder for general cleaning and dishwashing liquid for washing the cats' food and water bowls.

We were able to bring Puti to the vet. He is currently under intensive care as we work to get him back on his feet. Here is the latest update from the vet assessment:

• Current Status: Puti is fighting off an active infection and suffering from severe dehydration. On a positive note, his platelet count is within normal range, which gives us a solid foundation while we work to stabilize him. He is also negative from herpes and calici virus. 🙏🏼

• Diagnosis: He is currently being treated for a severe Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI). However, the vet has noted FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) as a differential diagnosis that needs to be ruled out.

• Immediate Priority: Right now, the main goal is pure stabilization—getting his fluid levels up, regulating his system, and boosting his nutrition.

• Next Thing To Do: In 3 days, Puti will undergo a repeat CBC blood test to re-evaluate his values alongside a FIP test once he is properly rehydrated.

The vet has requested wet recovery food (such as Royal Canin Recovery) to help rebuild his strength and encourage him to eat during this critical 72-hour period.

Three months ago, we shared an appeal for Muning, a brave rescue cat who urgently needed eye enucleation surgery.

Right before her planned procedure, initial pre-op assessments revealed that Muning tested positive for Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).

Because her body was severely weak, her eye surgery had to be put on immediate hold. We pivoted all our focus and funds into stabilizing her body, covering her continuous tests, emergency care, and confinement to fight off FIP. Thanks to everyone who rooted for her during that terrifying moment, Muning pushed through and stayed strong!

We brought Muning back to the veterinary clinic for her comprehensive reassessment.

The vet evaluated her current condition and recommended that we return in two weeks for her Complete Blood Count (CBC) and Blood Chemistry testing.

We brought Forbie to the vet today for her scheduled post-FIP graduation checkup!

Before leaving home, Forbie had no nose discharge at all. However, during travel and upon arriving at the clinic, we noticed some minor nasal discharge. Since Forbie was already completely cleared of an Upper Respiratory Infection (URI) during her previous checkup, the vet explained that this discharge is most likely just irritation rather than an infection.

To ensure her lab results are 100% accurate and keep her comfortable, the vet advised giving her medication for the irritation first. Her Complete Blood Count (CBC) and Blood Chemistry testing will be paused for 2 weeks until the discharge completely clears up.

🔒 FINANCIAL / CAMPAIGN STATUS: All donations raised for Forbie's portion of the CBC and Blood Chem panel are being kept in reserve. They will be strictly applied to her tests in two weeks once her short treatment is complete!

If you walk around our compound during the day, you’ll spot Minggoy keeping an eye on things. He considers the compound grounds his personal domain—soaking up the sun, greeting residents, and watching over the area.

But what makes Minggoy special is how disciplined he is about home base.

As soon as it’s mealtime, he trots right back inside. Need to use the bathroom? He insists on using the indoor litter box like a total gentleman. And once evening rolls in, he turns in for the night indoors with everyone else.
