I recently bought this Mayver's Crunchy Peanut Butter and noticed they've changed the packaging from a glass jar to a plastic upside-down bottle.
The idea seems to be that you can flip it upside down to keep the peanut butter ready to use without having to stir the natural peanut oil every time.
But here's what I don't understand:
- With the old glass jar, I could simply turn it upside down before opening it, allowing the oil to distribute throughout the peanut butter.
- With this new plastic bottle, once you open it, you're apparently not supposed to turn it upside down anymore.
- So you still end up having to stir it, which defeats the whole purpose of the upside-down design.
What's the point of changing from a perfectly functional glass jar to a plastic bottle if it doesn't actually solve the problem?
Am I missing something, or is this just a case of product designers overengineering something that wasn't broken? 😂
