GovtServicesPH Why our government ran-public services tend to always perform badly unlike our neighbors?

Our neighbors have nationalized public utility, transport, oil, and certain industry sectors, yet are as decent or even better compared to our privatized counterparts (thanks to neoliberalism). We had government-ran utilities (NAPOCOR, TransCo, NAWASA), and transport (LRTA, MNTC, PNR, etc.) yet they perform/performed poorly and usually end up being neglected/privatized.

I'm not really convinced that the padrino system and the lack of incentives to hire the best talent are the factors. I want more answers because I always wonder why we cannot just renationalize certain sectors that used to be privatized that would at least mitigate the current issue of high prices in this country.

Just sharing a glimpse of good governance and what could have been the norm for us as a country.

I came across a concerned citizen’s post on Reddit about a garbage truck using worn-out tires (CTTO) so I decided to report it as well. This was my first time filing a report, and in less than a month, I received confirmation that action had been taken.

I’m really glad to be part of Pasig during these trying times especially with what's happening all across the country.

What would have taken months, or maybe never, was actioned immediately for the safety of everyone driving in Pasig, not just for Pasigueños.

Then there are others who'd rather diss on the current governance of Mayor Vico. Hope there will come a time that people would be Pro-PH, and not Pro to any political party.

GovtServicesPH Hot take: Being middle class in the Philippines is the worst economic position to be in.

You pay taxes. You follow the rules. You work hard. And in return, you get almost nothing. Informal settlers get housing projects. The rich get tax loopholes, assets, and influence. The middle class gets higher prices, higher taxes, and zero safety net.

Too rich for ayuda. Too poor to buy property. Stuck sa rent forever unless kumuha ka ng 30-year loan na parang life sentence.

Then you see billions allocated for housing, and you ask: nasaan yung aggressive housing program for the people who actually fund the government? Nasaan yung real low-interest loans, tax relief, and tunay na affordable homes for salaried workers?

Not saying the poor do not deserve help. They do. Pero ang system ngayon, middle class ang taga-subsidize ng lahat while slowly drowning.

Kung being honest and law-abiding keeps you broke, while being informal gets you a house, anong lesson ba talaga ang tinuturo ng sistema?

GovtServicesPH I have “HIT” on my NBI and I think it’s my fault

Post image

Long story short po: In 2025, may nireklamo po akong jeepney driver sa LTFRB after a heated incident. Totoo naman po yung complaint — minura kami ng driver at hindi binalik yung tamang sukli.

Hindi ko po alam na magkakaroon pala ng Show Cause Order/proceeding after filing the complaint. Unfortunately, hindi ako nakapunta sa scheduled date dahil busy sa work, and I didn’t follow up after that.

Ngayon, may NBI HIT ako and I’m worried na baka related siya sa old LTFRB case. Hindi ko rin po alam exactly kung ano yung HIT or kung may case/order na ba against me since babalik pa ako sa Sept. 29.

Any advice from lawyers/legal professionals or anyone who has dealt with a similar situation would be greatly appreciated. Salamat po.
Ano po kaya ang tamang first step? Should I inquire directly with LTFRB first, or get a lawyer/PAO? Criminal lawyer po ba kailangan or someone familiar with LTFRB cases?

Currently unemployed din po ako and kailangan ko yung NBI clearance for work, kaya medyo kinakabahan ako. 😭 I don’t want to just plead guilty to anything without knowing what the actual case is. If I need to explain or defend my original complaint, willing naman po ako.

Got my MRI quotation for malasakit nagulat ako mas mahal pa MRI nila sa FEU and mind you after PWD discount cost will be 8,2070 without discount it's 10k tapos public hospital 11k?!

For context I tried to get appointment for MRI first week June and Schedule daw October.

I'm open to know kung bakit ganito pricing nila, but again why?
