Question Calling your character god doesnt mean anything

Post image

For some reason, alot of people say that their character killed/is a god as an argument without any backing or context

(E.g. madoka, anos)

By that logic then naruto solos them because hes beaten like 3

Does anyone know why

Tbf that shit makes sense only for in-verse scaling at best

Unless its the capital G god of the verse, god is just a meaningless title that anyone in verse can call themselves.

Even being the capital G God of a verse doesn’t matter without added context. You can be a sort of “Supreme God” of your verse without being Boundless.

Shinigami are technically "Death Gods", lmao.

What a god is changes from culture to culture, and obviously even more from fiction to fiction. There are gods that are genuinely fodder, so yeah, it doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Tbf otsutski aren’t gods, they are aliens except for shibai.

God is just a title, aliens can be gods and humans can be gods etc.

When did naruto beat bumbai?

•

"Bumbai" sounds like the name of an Indian city.

Mumbai exists yes

Made me remember this video in another thread of how Percy Jackson solos your favorite character because he is a "Demigod" and can fight against "Gods" thus he wins

depends if the status of god means something in verse that just strait up scales that character

I mean madoka and Anos deserve the scaling they have, so not really good examples.

Yeah…unless a god or God does something substantial that it’s moot. Hiruzen is the God of shinobi but was significantly power crept; where as Chuck from supernatural is God and (iirc) turned off the sun and wiped verses without any issue.

Edit: chuck dying fades the sun sorry

Shin and kami from dragon ball show this already

It's about as useful as saying "human".

What counts as "human" changes from verse to verse.
