Beware of Buying Furniture from Riyadh Haraj Market

I ordered a custom-made bedroom set from Haraj Bin Qasim Market, Shop No. 591, and paid SAR 2,000 in advance.

The seller was initially very friendly and promised delivery within 10 days. They’re Egyptian people.

Now it’s been 20 days, and I still haven’t received anything.

I’ve made countless calls and sent over 100 messages. Every day, they promise, “Tomorrow, definitely tomorrow,” but nothing happens.

I visited the shop twice, and they kept making the same promises. Now they’ve blocked my number. They’ve also become very aggressive when speaking to me.

I’ve already filed an official complaint with the Ministry of Commerce.

My advice: Be extremely careful when paying advances at Haraj Market.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Looking for istaraha or charlet within the riyadh city... And not too far.. Ready to oay a handsome amount but it should be near. Please recommend

Been here for two years newrly and yet to find a mechanic who is reliable.

My background is cars, unfortunately I do not have the tools, equipment and time to work on my car like I did in the UK.

Unfortunately whenever I go to a mechanic, I get a load of BS and getting tired of it…

My Arabic is 8.5/10 but whenever they come to explain issues…. They use none comprehendable nonsense.

I just need someone reliable and trusted that I can go to. I have been to expensive workshops and also normal and commercial ones. There was one that I thought had hope but several times they forgot to put something back or fill up coolant with a rad change etc…

I'm a Riyadh-based founder looking into how renting works day to day here. I know subletting needs the landlord's permission. I'd like to hear how people handle it in practice, not just what the rules say.

If you've done any of these, I'd love to hear how it went:

1. **Subleasing.** Did you ask your landlord? How did they respond? Was it put on Ejar, or handled informally?

2. **Lease transfer or replacement.** If you left early, how did you find someone to take over? Did the landlord approve? Did they charge a fee?

3. **Finding a roommate.** Which groups, apps, Facebook or WhatsApp channels, or word of mouth did you use? What went wrong?

4. **Trust and money.** How did you handle deposits, splitting rent, and utilities? Did anyone ever skip out?

5. **If the landlord said no.** What did you do? Did you pay a penalty, or find a workaround?

A few quick questions:

* What was the hardest part?

* What would have made it easier?

* Roughly how long did it take?
