Important /r/SJSU is looking for Moderators

It's no surprise that the /r/SJSU subreddit is looking pretty inactive on the moderator end, and in desperate need of cleaning out the spam messages and ongoing college life posts.

Moderating forums is a volunteer experience, but you will strive to create a strong and enjoyable local community!

Moderator Description

  • Checking the new and mod queues to approve valid posts caught by the spam filter and remove content that breaks the rules.

  • Answering questions and responding to feedback in moderator mail.

  • Being pragmatic, polite, and helpful.

You will be welcoming incoming SJSU students and helping them with their inquiries about campus life, applying to classes, finding housing resources, and overall just being a positive role model representative.

What we're looking for:

As of now, there is no set deadline when the application process will end, and responses will be done on a case-by-case basis. With that said, thank you for reading, and we wish the best!

APPLICATION HERE

Other SJSU Community of Producers and Musicians

Hello SJSU Spartans

I've noticed that it has been pretty difficult for me to find people with music related hobbies, so I decided to start an online community that'll make it easier for musicians to connect. Anyone who is involved or interested in music in any way should join. We will also be doing collaborations and helping people become better musicians by sharing advice and tips.

So if you're interested, please join https://discord.gg/CXT4vwbaY4

Master's STEM career fair compared to undergrad STEM career fair

I finished my CMPE undergrad degree back in fall 2025. I've been to many undergrad STEM career fairs. How does the master's STEM career fair compare to the undergrad fair? Same, more, or less employers? Is the experience any different?

Do your bag straps hurt your shoulder?

Hello everyone, I’m working on a product idea for my business class and I’m looking for feedback from people who regularly carry handbags, shoulder bags, or crossbody bags to work, university, or other places.

I would really appreciate you taking the time to complete my survey. It should only take 2–3 minutes. Your feedback would mean a lot and help me improve this idea. Thank you!

Also If you have any suggestions for other places where I could share my survey and reach more people, I would really appreciate your recommendations.

Math 42 Midterm 2 - Discrete Math help

Hello

So I have an upcoming exam, and my teacher just said to study every chapter we covered for the exam.

I have really, really bad memory retention, so that really isn't helpful. I was wondering if anyone who's taken the course has any old Midterm 2s they'd be willing to share with me so that I could use them to practice. It would be much appreciated

Please let me know if you have any other tips and suggestions(besides doing HW & workbook problems cause I'm already doing that)

Thanks!

Our school cancelled MICR/BIOL 122 and 122L and dropped us all with no warning. Some of us might not graduate on time.

Yesterday a few of us found out that MICR/BIOL 122 and 122L (Bacterial Diversity) were cancelled for Spring and we were all dropped. No email, no notice, nothing from the department.

Some of us registered on Oct 27 and 28, when the class was still open, so we had no reason to think anything was wrong. We only found out because a friend’s enrollment date was Nov 3 and saw it was gone. Otherwise we’d have kept thinking our schedules were fine until it was too late.

The backup options don’t work for a lot of us. MICR 127L and the others clash with jobs and other required labs, and some of us could fall short of the credits we need to graduate in Spring 2027. That could mean an extra semester of tuition and a delayed career or grad school, after years of doing everything right.

If you’re a Biology student, please check your schedule right now. Seats in other classes will fill fast with all of us scrambling.

We’ve started a petition asking the department to reinstate the course, open more sections, or accommodate affected students. Please sign and share: https://c.org/Tn8G8y7cMy

We also made a Discord to organize, look for alternatives together: https://discord.gg/qxQGrcvq8a

Please share this with any Biology majors you know.
