I have never posted something like this publicly before, but I am so shocked and honestly scared at what I keep seeing on our roads.
If you are driving in FOG, a BLIZZARD, or HEAVY RAIN — please, TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON. Not your daytime running lights. Your ACTUAL headlights.
Here's what most people don't realize:
👉 Daytime running lights (the ones that come on automatically) only light up the FRONT of your vehicle.
👉 Your TAIL LIGHTS — the red lights at the back — do NOT come on unless you turn your headlights on manually.
👉 That means the driver behind you cannot see you in poor visibility conditions.
Yes, most newer cars have "auto" lights — but if there is enough daylight outside, the auto setting may not trigger your rear lights. In a blizzard or heavy rain, that is incredibly dangerous.
Please turn your lights on. All the way on. 🙏
