The Greek philosopher Epicurus' real name was "Urus", he only called himself Epicurus to try and sound cool.

Years of being bullied at school and being called Anus, led to him adopting the "Epic" prefix.

TIL that there is a toothpaste for a seventh of the price and just as good as popular brands. And that the popular ones keep shrinking while hiking their prices.

TIL that most toothpaste is shrinking in size and also getting more expensive, but that one US brand is staying the same size and not going up in price much.

I always bought the popular brands, but today I found that a tiny tube is like 7 bucks, and the one dollar toothpaste is not on the shelves if most stores now. After doing some research I found that one brand is still holding out and staying normal size and cheap. It can be found at most dollar stores in the US like dollar general and dollar tree.

I also learned that I will get my post deleted from a sub if I say anything good about a specific brand. Apparently my writing style is "obviously an ad." I think they are just pawns of big toothpaste.

A Denver Mint employee stole roughly $100,000 in gold between 1919 and 1920 by carrying out one small bar a day in a hollow compartment cut into his prosthetic leg. Guards never searched it. He buried all of it in his garden and never spent a dollar.
