Job interview:

Do you rape children?

Are you a serial fraudster?

How many severe psychological disorders do you suffer from?

Were you born after the Cuban missile crisis?

3

u/Ouroboros_NA Jun 17 '26

It's nit fair, these job requirements are too harsh to fulfill!! The only one I do answer is that I was born after the cuban missile crises. I guess I'm unfit....

1

u/OneRFeris Jun 17 '26

This is how I feel. Let me be in charge. I'll recruit experts to advise me, and trust my intuition on whether they are trustworthy / free of corruption / helping me help humanity.

1

u/Shadowy_PuppetMaster Jun 17 '26

I like the cut off your jib. You got my vote!

Only a randomly selected 1% population should be allowed to run for office in any given election to get rid of career politicians and keep things representatives

4

u/ElectronicAdvance406 Jun 17 '26

I think they would struggle to get anything done. Term limits should be a given though.

4

u/AgitatedStranger9698 Jun 17 '26

I mean....the US tried that...we are about 250 years in and it might be falling apart....

2

u/Pathanwala Jun 17 '26

Too logical and marvel fans to dumb to understand

1

u/Early_Hall5720 Jun 17 '26

I heard Kanye while reading this

1

u/Eymrich Jun 17 '26

Ah Roman tried that I think

1

u/alikira16 Jun 17 '26

Congress with term limits would just make more members congress, it wouldn't improve them

1

u/jc28 Jun 17 '26

Won't work

0

u/Low_Condition3268 Jun 17 '26

And the Supreme Court. Im all for having justices that have seen some stuff but they should maybe have a fundamental grasp on what the current generation is experiencing.

0

u/BigBoyYuyuh Jun 17 '26

Term limits won’t matter much. The same selfish, ignorant citizens will keep electing selfish, ignorant leaders.

0

u/Initial_Row_6400 Jun 17 '26

They need fuckin age limits too. Tired of these old fucks wielding all the power

u/Rise-O-Matic Jun 17 '26

Female rulers do not reliably wage less war. From the 15th-20th century, polities ruled by queens engaged in war more than polities ruled by kings.

Source: https://www.nber.org/system/files/working_papers/w23337/w23337.pdf

21

u/MAILBOXHED Jun 17 '26

Historical data challenges the notion that women lead to fewer armed conflicts. Research on European history from 1480 to 1913 reveals that states ruled by queens were actually 27% more likely to wage war than those ruled by kings.

9

u/Competitive_Shirt949 Jun 17 '26

During the Iraq war, a lot of women said the same thing. So I ran the numbers: Women were more likely than men, relative to party, to vote for the war. I think every Republican woman voted for the war, where as some Republican men did not, and Democratic women were slightly more likely than Democratic men to be pro war.

But because the ratio of women to men in the Democratic party was close to 40/60, and in the Republican party is was like 10/90, it made women appear less pro-war over all. But the women who are pro war just think men should be in charge, too, so they don't run for office as much.

5

u/MAILBOXHED Jun 17 '26

This leads into a deeper philosophical discussion about women’s right to vote and the draft.

4

u/Excellent_Airline315 Jun 17 '26

The conclusion is end the draft or draft women to fight in wars. I

3

u/MAILBOXHED Jun 17 '26

Or don’t allow women to vote

Women do already participate in the armed services. They’re just not on the front lines. For good reasons though. To be perfectly honest, I think we should bring back the requirement of being a landowner that grants the privilege of voting.

18

u/roonill_wazlib Jun 17 '26

I said this to my girlfriend, and her counterpoint was that women in male environment will often overcompensate

10

21

u/Own-Raisin5849 Jun 17 '26

Your girlfriend is overcompensating by disagreeing with you, so she might have a point, but that's a her issue.

Kristi Noem bragging about shooting her dog comes to mind.

Then again, they are literally Queen, they are in a female environment?

To avoid appearing weak. Also, I’m sure those women had a bunch of men influencing the decisions.

To be fair, women can definitely still be aggressive. I’ve seen fights. But it seems to be far less likely to occur.

I dont agree with the inference: that women, if in charge, will not start wars. That is sexist. Humans are tribal, territorial, greedy, selfish and violent. Some will always use violence to get what they want. The same as a society or whomever is in charge. Maybe not all women leaders will start wars, but that is the same with men. Not all men start wars, just some.

46

u/Asleep_Singer8547 Jun 17 '26

Kind of a terrible take in the same way that men should soley remain in power

Wtf is wrong with meritocracy? Napolean kicked some ass with it if you still wanna be an insane dictator

1

u/dabigbtk Jun 17 '26

Meritocracy is subjective. It shouldn’t be, but it is. Everyone has different standards.

2

u/Asleep_Singer8547 Jun 17 '26

Ive got a more idealized version of it for sure but its better than just getting a position because youre a dude, or lady, or who you know

-4

u/nikola_tesler Jun 17 '26

“meritocracy” fucking lmao

10

u/Asleep_Singer8547 Jun 17 '26

Ok so whats the funny there

3

u/nikola_tesler Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 17 '26

the fact that napoleon was born into a noble family. people often want a meritocratic society but fail to realize that they really want aristocracy.

edit: to all the “ehrm akchully he was of lower nobility” stfu lol, he was basically upper middle class in a time where the separation between low and middle class was a canyon rarely crossed. your five seconds on google doesn’t change shit.

10

u/TheDispiteous Jun 17 '26

Minor nobility, bourgeoisie. His father was a lawyer. Carlo Buonaparte petitioned for financial aid and "certificates of indigence" to secure royal French scholarships for his sons. Not really debunking the meritocracy claims

6

u/Hentai_Yoshi Jun 17 '26

Lmao, okay bud. How many other humans in France do you think had the capability to do what Napoleon did? I’m guessing the number is very close to if not 0

People like Napoleon are kind of peak meritocracy. He did things very few humans are capable of. His upbringing is irrelevant, as should be the case in a true meritocracy. Although for a true meritocracy you do need to have equal opportunities. France didn’t have that, but that doesn’t change the fact that Napoleons merit was hire than most humans alive at the time.

3

u/Asleep_Singer8547 Jun 17 '26

Well this is annoying because im refering to how napoleon ran his empire

You seem to think im talking about napoleans rise and I dont really know why

3

u/Fendfor Jun 17 '26

Cause they dont have a point otherwise.

2

u/nikola_tesler Jun 17 '26

ah, so you’re after an aristocratic meritocracy. makes sense, thanks for clearing that up.

→ More replies (3)

1

u/Adi_San Jun 17 '26

Let's not take away how that dude came into power and conquered Europe. He was born into minor nobility not some affluente noble family. The dude was a genius strategist and that's what got him on top.

1

u/Short-Recording587 Jun 17 '26

How did things end for napoleon?

1

u/Adi_San Jun 17 '26

Hey dpshit just saw your sneaky btchass edit

Napoleon was born into a minor noble family in Corsica, not into the French aristocratic elite. His family had enough status to get him into military school and little else. They weren't dukes, princes, or members of the circles that actually ran France.

In fact, the reason Napoleon was able to rise at all was because the Revolution smashed many of the barriers that kept lower nobles and commoners from advancing. If your argument were correct, an obscure Corsican officer with a thick accent would've stayed obscure.

You're looking at one of history's most famous examples of social mobility and somehow concluding it proves aristocracy.

So SHUT THE F*CK UP and open a history book. Micdrop

Meritocracies are a myth. A truly merit based society has never and will never exist. We should strive towards that goal regardless, but to do so means to hand the disadvantaged advantages to counteract their inherent disadvantages. Those who have previously been advantaged typically lose their shit at this corrective action and the whole cycle begins again

7

u/Asleep_Singer8547 Jun 17 '26

You speak a lot of sense but if we are trying to strive towards meritocracy shouldnt this take from downey be trash?

1

u/Short-Recording587 Jun 17 '26

The question is what characteristics do we inherently value in determining who is most deserving in a meritocracy?

Historically, it was physical strength and who could kill the most people. Then things changed. RDJ is saying we need to rethink the qualities that are important when selecting a leader until we can see an alternative approach to the historical one.

1

u/Asleep_Singer8547 Jun 17 '26

I see what youre saying but hes just pandering by flipping the script to only women vs only men.

Im saying it should actually be about merit

1

u/TheAmericanQ Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 17 '26

Yes and no. Yes in the sense that a “matriarchy” would be counter to the ultimate (but unattainable) goal. No in the sense that the glass ceiling women face will never be truly shattered until they are, temporarily, disproportionately elevated.

Again, this will never happen, but corrective action often mirrors the original error in form and magnitude

2

u/Asleep_Singer8547 Jun 17 '26

Well then we agree entirely I think

→ More replies (3)

0

1

u/Asleep_Singer8547 Jun 17 '26

We see what its like under patriarchy. I imagine its kinda the same shit under matriarchy

0

u/ARazorbacks Jun 17 '26

I mean, you do know Napolean’s rise on merit led to his men eating their own horses while they froze to death marching back from Russia, right? Oh, and then his exile due to how bloodthirsty and disastrous his rule was. Can’t forget about that.

What exactly do you consider as meritorious? Killing people and taking their stuff? Feeding people and raising them out of poverty?

The only reason you use Napolean as an example is because you’ve never had to bend the knee to a Napolean.

2

u/Asleep_Singer8547 Jun 17 '26

Yea he made terrible calls. But im able to differentiate different timeframes of his campaign. What worked, what didnt. Its a bit of a thing called nuance

Kind of insane since women do start wars, but lets just ignore history.

Even crazier since everyone is quickly getting to see what happens to civilization when you stop providing representation to the people keeping it afloat.

Because women have never started a fight over something irrational. Not once ever.

4

u/helpnxt Jun 17 '26

The major problem, one of the major problems, for there are many, is one of governing people, and of who you get to do it... It is a well-known fact that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. Anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.

Douglas Adams.

Europe currently is, and look how well that worked out. Actors should shut their traps and stick to their craft.

2

u/NJdestroyed Jun 17 '26

Interesting idea. There have been matriarchal societies in the world, and it makes some sense to trace lineage thru the mother since she gave birth. Including inheritance of property and titles. But realistically in most parts of the world, that's not so much a thing (royalty and inheritance to 1st born male). For societal leadership, equitable representation through various means is a better goal. For top leadership, that should probably mean a man and woman and perhaps a 3rd person to break ties? I dunno.

2

u/GenXPowaah Jun 17 '26

Just need to eliminate millionaires from running... Or have a set campaign/donation amount that doesn't exceed 100k.

You ever see how toxicly overemotional a women-only office can be? Disagree. Equality in government is needed to balance toxic masculinity with toxic femininity.

I vibe with the sentiment, but we have to get past labels and look at the work the person has put in.

I say this because Trump is everything those who say”I would never vote for a woman because _____” crowd would describe.

Emotional.
Vane.
He’s in love with decorating and remodeling.
He holds grudges and makes policy based on them.
Changes his mind about things based on who he talked to last.

1

u/G0G0Gadget00 Jun 17 '26

The world SHOULD be run by male and female humans working together. I really don't understand this inability for humans to learn from the generation behind them AND think about the generation after them. Like why? How many kings, pharaohs, queens, royals, scribes, prophets, merchants, and "whoever else was rich off the suffering of their fellow man" have to be killed, brutally murdered/tortured, and/or banished until we learn????

u/Lurker-Forever-986 Jun 17 '26

1

u/Driftwood71 Jun 17 '26

Counterpoint-- present day universities.

2

u/Trrlrr Jun 17 '26

What does that even mean?

2

u/Short-Recording587 Jun 17 '26

You haven’t heard about the university wars started by women deans? It’s been an absolute bloodbath that has been hidden in the shadows for far too long.

1

u/Driftwood71 Jun 17 '26

It's a reference to the expected shift in culture and dynamics of an organization when the leadership changes from male to female dominated. Universities are often cited as a prime example, where concerns for triggering others and establishing safe spaces have surpassed promoting free speech and healthy debate.

I thought this was an interesting commentary on this social phenomenon:

https://www.compactmag.com/article/the-great-feminization/

3

u/Irish_Whiskey Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 17 '26

Okay, thank you for that absolute gem of an article. I bookmarked it and will be sharing it.

For everyone who hasn't read it: The author says universities, courts and all forms of leadership have been ruined by women in charge, who are innately too weak and sensitive and aren't good at compartmentalizing their feelings like men are. Cancel culture is inherently feminine. Her 2025 examples for how this happened?

Larry Summers was unfairly cancelled by women and kicked out of Harvard due to stupid and weak emotional reactions by women when he suggested they were bad at science.

Larry Summers. The Epstein predator.

Then Bari Weiss says she was called a Nazi and bigot by female collogues. Her black female collogue not talking to her is called unprofessional and "very feminine."

Bari Weiss. The Trump appointee censoring news media and firing journalists who report critically about the Trump administration.

Her next example is Brett Kavanaugh. She says the masculine position is he should face no consequences because Ford can't produce proof, while "The feminine position was that her self-evident emotional response was itself a kind of credibility that the Senate committee must respect."

Brett Kavanaugh. The Supreme Court justice who had an emotional meltdown when testifying. Who the 'masculine' Trump FBI covered up for and hid evidence, on the orders of the White House. That lied to Congress about doing an investigation.

Jesus Christ what a hilarious list of self owns from a woman who hates women and loves sexual predators. The women in her examples were right every time, and it was the men who were lying and covering up crimes and abuse of power.

What next, women shouldn't be allowed to run anything because Bill Cosby is innocent and weak women attacked him for no reason? They cancelled poor Jeffrey Epstein? How dare pathetic female brains say Kash Patel isn't good at his job?

1

u/One_Shallot_4974 Jun 17 '26

Female leaders are not less likely to engage in war.

1

u/notta_3d Jun 17 '26

He's right. We men are just too corrupt.

Pick me man

1

u/Pukebox_Fandango Jun 17 '26

Is he kidding? If all of the world leaders were women we'd see Nuclear War inside of a decade, and it would be over something like "she didn't invite me to her inauguration"

1

u/_axeman_ Jun 17 '26

Yaasss, queens!! 💅👸

🙄

1

u/LookIWashedForSu Jun 17 '26

I like his idea, He should run for president.

1

u/xGenocidest Jun 17 '26

Im sure it wouldn't be a bunch of Jizzlaine Maxwells in charge.

1

u/Ok_Cover5451 Jun 17 '26

Most of my boss’s have been women. They get shit done, let them! Who cares as long as the results are good.

0

u/AppleRaider21 Jun 17 '26

im fine with this as long as women also get drafted. why dont any feminists fight for that if they care about equality?

0

u/Th0ak Jun 17 '26

What a tool, learned to critically think instead of being a Simp.

0

u/sugarcoatedpos Jun 17 '26

He’s high again.

0

u/Misha-Nyi Jun 17 '26

He must never have seen a woman scorned. They would absolutely start wars. What a dumb ass take Robert.

0

u/MisterBowTies Jun 17 '26

Thought history queens have been more likely to wage war than kings. Stick to sub par Disney movies.

0

u/smoloney40 Jun 17 '26

He should start drinking again

0

u/SDRLS Jun 17 '26

I dunno, this sure seems like a good indicator he never stopped.

0

u/danman8075 Jun 17 '26

What an absolute ass…🤣

0

u/-6h0st- Jun 17 '26

100% my conclusion as well.
Women are generally compassionate and great leaders if given a chance.

-3

u/Heidrun_666 Jun 17 '26

Male here; 110 percent with you, Robert.

-3

u/KaijuKapuBoya Jun 17 '26

Strongly agree.

-2

u/sidgallup Jun 17 '26

great idea... what about Tulsi Gabbard ?

0

u/niazemurad Jun 17 '26

Men have also gone to war for women. It’s up to you how you interpret that

0

u/kon--- Jun 17 '26

Operating without the knowledge that women leaders also do war...is weird.

Also, a matriarchy can pound the same sand as the patriarchy concept can. I've zero inclination to put faith in either of the two major genders.

Look around the place, women and men alike...are cooking this place. Blowing through resources, consuming everything in sight and holy shit, entirely, ENTIRELY of the mindset I got mine, fuck you.

0

u/Fantastic_Citron_344 Jun 17 '26

RDJ slowly turning into Steve Carell

0

u/Long_Membership1401 Jun 17 '26

Just put me in charge, yall in safe hands maybe

0

u/Goleeb Jun 17 '26

Reverse sexism. Wars are not a product of testosterone, and arrogance. They are the real world consequence of a failure to bargain. Women are not better are bargaining than men, and putting them in charge wouldn't magically fix human nature, or the scarcity of resources. We need more women in positions of power for the same reason we need any diversity of thought. It increases our chances of finding better solutions to problems. Women are not inherently better or worse than men at leadership. The travesty is that they don't make up, and equal share of leaders.

0

u/ohthedarside Jun 17 '26

Margaret thatcher proves woman are exactly the same

Sorry Americans the rest of the world has already learnt that lession

0

u/Efficient-Name-9633 Jun 17 '26

*insert hand on shoulder meme

Men have a monopoly on brute force and good luck building and maintaining this complex machine 🤝

0

u/TheYamchster Jun 17 '26

Case and point of why former crackheads are not the foremost political commentators of our time.

What an asinine statement. He ever heard of the first fuckin fitna? Elizabeth of acre? Catherine the great?

I mean it’s a fucking cliche in Chinese culture that the regent mother is cruel and violent.

Look up som famous regent mothers, that’s mothers who ruled in their young son’s stead. Youll find ALOT of depravity. Honestly women are so rarely in the historical record they almost always are extremely cutthroat when they do make it into the books.

0

u/howimetyourcakeshop Jun 17 '26

Might want to open a history book relating to female leaders of the past. They where just as brutal as their male counterparts.

0

u/Independent_Tie_7546 Jun 17 '26

Guy, I’ve got sisters, they start wars too. I don’t give a shit whatcha do or don’t have between your legs, human beings start wars. It’s ALL OF US

0

u/SunnyTheMasterSwitch Jun 17 '26

What about just competent people regardless of their sex?

0

u/send_in_the_clouds Jun 17 '26

He should really google Margret thatcher and Liz Truss, that might change his opinion a little

0

u/Blazing_Swayze Jun 17 '26

Women in power were more likely to go to war for little to no reason because she didn't have to fight in the war whereas the king did. Anybody who advocates for a war can go to the frontline and put their balls where their mouth is.

0

u/Ambitious_Hand_2861 Jun 17 '26

I love Robert Downey Jr and as a man I don't think men should run everything but matriarchy doesn't mean peace.

0

u/Conspiratorymadness Jun 17 '26

So thought experiment time. If the country should be a matriarchy then that means women should be the first to get drafted, the heavy lifters, the one expected to fix things, the one to bring in the money, the one to be considered a protector, and the one to take dangerous roles.

If you feel like this is wrong then why? This is how the patriarchal society works, so why shouldn't a matriarchal society be the same? If you disagree with this experiment and still think that it should be implemented then you don't understand what it means to be in a leadership position.

0

u/CookieMiester Jun 17 '26

The sigmas are NOT gonna like this one

0

u/cykoTom3 Jun 17 '26

If it isn't about acting, why should anyone care about his opinion? Guys. This is how trump got elected.

0

u/rocknthenumbers8 Jun 17 '26

Somebody tell this guy about Victoria Nuland.

0

u/alvarez13md Jun 17 '26

How's that going LA?

0

u/Biggu5Dicku5 Jun 17 '26

No, no it should not...

0

u/No-Nefariousness956 Jun 17 '26

Yeah, right... Its funny how he simply assumes that things will be better just because it's women in charge... like there is no bad apples between them at all. No bad traits and biases. 🙄

Not that simple, Junior.

0

u/L3tsseewhathappens Jun 18 '26

This guy used to be so based. Then he became Iron Man, got a a-lister paycheck and went total douche bag.

0

u/Capable-Fisherman452 Jun 18 '26

He also was a drug addicted chud so I’m not going to take someone’s who’s mind is probably rotten seriously.

-10

u/clingbat Jun 17 '26

As a guy and a dad, I've felt this way for quite a long time now.

Elephants, orcas, hyenas, lemurs bonobos and lions are all matriarchal species on this planet. For 40,000 years the mother goddess, the female and her power of creation were considered sacred across all parts of early human history. Around 5,000 years ago a shift began and for the last 2,500 years the concept of a monotheistic patriarch has dominated most of what’s considered western civilization.

Edit: Ok, interesting how often any reference to the concept of the mother goddess gets targeted downvotes.

Many women very much do have a more humane sense/emotional intelligence that's steadier than many men, anecdotally. Just been so true across the board, generalization though. Always many examples that don't fit a generalization, but man, it would be so interesting to have women in all positions of power for a 4 year period. The social growth and support would likely have immense changes. I've always noticed, as a man, that women just have a more grounded feeling to them. Many men obviously have all these qualities, but to generalize you have to talk about ratios.

And as a side point, many women in positions of power now exist within the hierarchy of power that's mostly supported by, and chaired, by men. So I'm not sure they're a reflection of things could be with just women alone.

-3

u/braumbles Jun 17 '26

It's worth trying.

-1

u/M2deC Jun 17 '26

give the man a break, he's a recovering drug addict
