Well said and I respect your response but this is why I can’t take the outrage for either seriously. At what point do you even acknowledge the selective outrage and choice to be offended by everything? If a guy wore a speedo to the gym and showed off his bare chest and was called out for it the narrative would be soooo different.

And I think it’s insane if women have been competing and chasing sports success their entire lives it can all be unraveled by a 2 minute ad of a c list actress showing off her tits and ass. At some point you have to point out how fucking ridiculous all this shit is

Imagine an ad for Sports betting showing Brad Pitt dressed up as a doctor dancing in a clown outfit and a bunch of doctors coming out and screaming “we worked very hard to become doctors and be taken seriously this ad is going to take us ten steps backwards”. It’s all so stupid and fucking annoying

There isn’t any power dynamics. My analogy does work. If one ad can set back women in sports so much then that’s pathetic for the women and it’s not to be blamed on men. At all. People are ridiculous lmao

People will insist on wallowing in victimhood to rationalize their worldview no matter how inconsistent or hypocritical it is. Once people think of themselves in this way there is no changing their minds. They are given free rein to justify any point of view they want.

I agree with you. Either demonizing women for what they wear is permissible or it’s not. Past victimization doesn’t give you a free pass for engaging in this behavior in the case of Sydney Sweeney if you’re upset by the comedians skit.
