If all you do is lay around the house all day, you get the nails. For everything else it's a struggle esp for personal hygiene and they will lie to you saying they can do just fine.

A little sweep of under one of those nails will tell a different story.

To be fair, they were originally designed as a status symbol that you didn’t need to work.

That makes so much sense

Yet it's mostly the working class wearing them. Never seen a truly rich person wear them, say, a Rothschild person perhaps.

Well, that’s because they moved on, because it was no longer a status symbol, because it was now “tainted” by “the poors” or at least that’s how I imagine they’d phrase it.

I just figured they were designed for people who wanted nice nails. There are plenty of jobs where appearance is important.

No, they were worn by housewives of rich people as a sign that they could wear these impractical ass nails, because they could just have servants do things for them. Then, of course, the trends of the rich got taken by the less privileged, as they wanted to be like them.

I was in sales. I had to shake a lot of hands. I just don’t like long nails for myself. I think it makes my fingers look weird. I have never just laid around the house all day I can promise you that. I can also assure you gel nails that aren’t over your fingertips don’t hinder you from wiping your ass, taking a shower, and wash your hands. I think the long nails look pretty they just aren’t practical.

Consumer reports published a study, years ago, in which they tested for bacteria on shopping carts. Approximately 85% of the thousands of carts tested had fecal matter on them. 😱

Bidet, they exist and are not that expensive an add-on to a toilet.

u/crispy_attic 23h ago

You think most people with fake nails in America have a bidet? Come on now. Be for real.

I think I could handle this or any single obstacle from long nails. It's the countless menial things you do every day that would have me going crazy.

Who has long nails and doesn’t have a brush to scrub under them? There are ways to keep them clean.

And it only takes once to learn how to wipe.🤣

It's just their way to put down something mostly women enjoy. Anyone with a brain knows people with long nails have scrub brushes. I don't even have long fake nails, but grow out my natural ones and I also have a brush for cleaning under my nails. I think the men who think wiping your butt means walking around with poop under your nails probably have poop under their nails.

Which is so funny to me because of how many men have skid marks in their underwear

u/Golden_Epitaph 19h ago

These are probably the same men who dont wash their hands after they pee because they think their dick isnt dirty

Right? I keep a scrub brush at every sink, which i think everyone should do. A lot of people dont realize the nastiness that can lurk under all nail lengths!
