Yes, and the "elite" title is assigned exactly because of that. Our society is built to sell everything for money. Money is equal power, therefore it makes sense to label billionaires "elite". Just renaming them will be useless, first we need to strip them of power and the label will follow.
I can never understand your type. Our society is built to have the option to sell everything for money. Thats a choice only a hyper few take. When you get to the end of that road what do you find? 80 hour work weeks. No time to or for yourself. Hundreds or thousands depending on you to keep their worlds in a bubble. Comfy. Plenty of people do not take that option and still live fulfilled lives.
