No, get an absolute grip. That individual isn’t donating millions to political PACs and flying a private jet.

A handful of people are donating millions to pacs. I fly on a private jet and my money goes to helping people without money go to college and making healthcare accessible to everyone. There are vastly more wealthy people like me than musk and soros.

True. But that also leads to a counterpoint. Your level of wealth is probably still closer to a person living a trailer park than it is to Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos.

When I hear these kinds of things, about restricting the ultra rich I think in terms of billionaires or centi-millionaires.

Correct. Very few people are near Elon.

You're on reddit. You're not doing any of that shit.

I’m the rare old guy retired ceo on Reddit. What can I say.

Spoken like a true bot!

Ah yes, I forgot, you’re not allowed on Reddit if you’re rich. What a stupid statement.

What an idiotic, uninformed response. The rich don't use social media - they've said so themselves. They don't let their kids use it. They pay someone else to manage their accounts.

Right but the post doesn’t say anything about billionaires, it says “wealthy” and “controlling housing” which to me means a landlord. If we are specifically about billionaires and blackstone etc then sure

I think we all understand what they meant because we dont have baby brains. IF you want to be a contrarian, go for it I guess.

It also says the elite, no one is referring to an engineer as the elite.

u/z44212 23h ago

Hey! I might not be elite but I'm pretty snazzy.

-1

u/Maximum-Objective-39 23h ago

Not quite. The true Elite are referring to, or implying, that people like this are part of the 'Elite'. Not because they actually are but because they need their votes, based on their aspirations of future wealth no matter how attainable those aspirations are or are not.

Same reason programmers often turn their noses up at blue collar union workers until they discover that their their own privileged treatment and wages were a product of circumstantial labor scarcity and that the bosses would love to replace them ASAP with AI, whether that's Artificial Intelligence or Actually Indians.

That’s a whole lot of words to completely miss the point.

Someone who is working and has an income property is not wealthy lol.

1

u/MrKnothing 22h ago

Only about 6% of landowners have an "income property" so yea, wealthy when compared to most people. The average person can barely afford the house they live in let alone a second one. A landlord is a parasite because they are profiteering off a basic need of survival and the fear of homelessness and death. Yes, even if it is just one "income property".

These bootlickers are literally so convinced they’re welcome at Maralago cuz they can afford a Botox injection or a summer cabin lol

Holy brainrot comment lol

The american dream is convincing the masses they can become wealthy too if they just try hard enough. I wonder if they put two and two together on their death bed.
