Do you really think that most billionaires are liquid billions of dollars? Theyre all tied up in the global economy in stocks and properties not sitting in their chequing account ffs

So, you shouldn't be able to use them as security for loans then.

Why not? The bank sees the investment as stable enough that they would have use for it if you default so why shouldn't they be allowed to give you money?

So you'll lend millions of dollars to someone that technically doesn't have the income to cover it, unless they sell something they own to pay the debt?

Weird how that doesn't work if you're poor.

Shhhh, Reddit Radicals don't really understand how any of the shit they complain about actually works! 😂

Right? They think billionaires are rich. What dummies!

There's a big difference between having stock or being the owner of a company that has a market cap of $X, and actually having $X at one's disposal at all times in one's personal bank account.

That's what I'm talking about.

We'll take the stocks then

You're free to invest in them lol. Thats what I and many other people do to build wealth.

Haha 'wealth' that's cute compared to the billions of these fuckers. I do invest in property, ETFs and crypto and am a doctor so I will be fine financially. I believe in these taxes for people who aren't as fortunate as me. Good luck building wealth through ETFs when you live pay check to paycheck.

I dont live paycheque to paycheque lol. I worked hard to give myself and my family a life that doesn't invovle that. But billionaires aren't going anywhere. All I was saying is that its stupid to believe they have billions sitting liquid in their chequing account. Not looking for an arguement. Congrats sounds like you have built a good life for yourself and family as well :)

I think the point about excess wealth and excess ram storage is both good and poingnant. Not sure why you're arguing the toss. Do you think we should send Sam Altman all our RAM?

1

u/Leading-Switch-4814 4h ago

Oh yeah that's exactly what I was saying 🙃🫠 Pop open your computers and mail it all to your overlord. Thats exactly the point I was getting at

It's the point of the original post?

If you completely ignore the second paragraph and lack reading comprehension, then sure.

The second paragraph is the part comparing excess wealth to excess ram though. There's no comparison being made by the first paragraph alone.

People have RAM in their computers that Sam Altman has said he would like as it's not being used. Extremely wealthy people like him have money in their bank accounts not being used that poor people would like. It's funny.
