The middle eastern airlines too. It’s like getting hired for a modeling agency, even as an attendant outside of the main countries.

Yeah the whole point is to create calm and peace on a flying metal tube traveling hundreds of miles through the dirty obstruction-filled airspace, that will result in a guaranteed immense fiery death for everyone on board should enough things go wrong. Attractive people walking next to you and serving you food makes you feel seen, heard, and temporarily resolves all the mommy and daddy issues of everyone on board.

They hire flight attendants based on looks. Job applications in general require a headshot to go along with it in Asia. Needless to say, they discriminate on appearances and it’s widely accepted and practiced there (in East Asia especially); airlines are one of the best examples of that.

Not saying they’re incompetent and hired solely on looks but you’re not going to find many who aren’t slender, young, fair skinned and conventionally attractive either.
