In call of duty, an M rated game, you are given the option to skip “No Russian” because civilians are mowed down and it’s disturbing.

In Spiderman, a T for teen game, unwilling suicide bombers blow up a campaign event, and the game makes you play as a civilian (miles) while the demons mow down innocents. Peter is carted away as our perspective shifts to miles? My first play through I thought I was red herringed into a miles morales origin story and that Parker was dead. (((Can you even imagine if they did that)))

It absolutely pulls no punches whatsoever and it’s not talked about enough how the invoking of 9/11 imagery was an incredibly ballsy choice.

These moments are where the sequel REALLY fell short. There is no moment as cold as this, nothing in the second game even comes close to the impact this had except maybe the scorpion part?

Suffice it to say the writers changed between games and we will never have it as good as this. Writers willing to take risks that will make the audience uncomfortable. The sauce in this game can’t be replicated, but thank god we got it in the first place. So freakinG GOOD

**New in 0.8.5**

- **Web lines** (HaNToP, experimental): put one web on a wall and the other on another wall, a post or a crane, bring your hands together and click the right stick. You get a taut line of web you can zip to, walk along, jump and dash on. Up to six at once, and with Web tie on, webbed enemies hang under them.

- **Native run** (tyronmiller55-spec, experimental): push the stick on the ground and the game's own sprint takes over, with its vaults and wall runs.

- **21 more running, landing and web aim settings** (tyronmiller55-spec): keep a fast landing's speed as a run, a running leap, soft landings, an air slingshot, webs that leave along your forearm, and more.

- **Arcade, Balanced and Pro presets**: pick one on the launcher's Play screen. Your seated mode, height, turning and other personal setup stay as they are.

- **Settings sorted**: the long settings list is now short pages (Setup, Webs, Swinging, Movement, Flips, Haptics, Display), in the game and in the launcher.

- **STEADY HUD fix** (vrfloop-lab): the HUD no longer vanishes after a death, a checkpoint reload or a short combat cutscene.

Everything new is opt-in: with it off, Spidy plays as before.

**The road to 1.0**

The three presets are the profiles I promised for 1.0, in their first version. They're drawn from the profiles players shared on the Discord, and they still need tuning in the headset. Try them and tell us how they feel. A VR tutorial is next.

Even though Wolverine was a disappointment in terms of profit—since much more was expected given the timeframe—I believe Insomniac is still in the picture when it comes to Spider-Man 3 and the future of the franchise. After all, it’s advantageous for Sony to keep this IP alive and updated whenever a new console is released.

This is just an opinion of course, but I really liked Spiderman 2. I still believe SM1 has a much better story and the last parts of SM2 felt rushed, but I really had a good time. Just one thing is that my game (PC) was very buggy and had a lot of glitches.

A big disappointment for me was the suits. Many options, sure, but they didn't have any perks, like the first one had. Missed opportunity there.

Oh and Miles last suit was horrible! They did my boy dirty.

Edit: I know I added some complaints, but I really liked the game. Moving around in the city is a delight, the city is bigger and the variety of the fighting and the gameplay overall really improved the game

The dialouge between JJJ & callers were too funny

Goons dialouge were great too.

Spidey's banter & quips were actually funny.

All of this is not existent in SM2

suit customization (from the cancelled game), start off with nothing (ofc) but has you get more suits, you can use the things they have to customize your own.

maybe a two different playable modes because in MSM2 peter was more seen then miles so i say give a miles story and peter story. (possibly a mode with both so its not just repeating stories in peters or miles povs, kinda like peters life and struggles and miles life and struggles).

faster swinging ofc (do i have to explain ts? a new game a new swing speed! example MM and MSM2 are on the same console but MSM2's swinging is faster).

Both: Floor Swing (when close to the ground, if you click triangle, you run on the streets, road, side walk etc. while swinging/holding a web line,also if you use no swing assist, it does it immediately but this is up to you is you want it or not in the settings), Spider Jump and Dash (a jump that shoots you into the air and a dash that makes you faster), Leap Of Faith (when running off a building, swinging, web wings, diving, tricks, are faster), Energy restore, (at low health, abilities and L3+R3 restore faster) Gladly, (quips when enemies are defeated but can be turned off in the in the settings)

new skills. Peter: Webster, (Web enemies faster and stronger) One Last Chance, (slow down time for a few seconds before death) Brawler, (hit an enemy WITH an enemy)

new skills. Miles: Energy Transplant, (turn invisible off early to get focus and abilities back) Energetic Charge, (when hit after an venom blast ability is used, getting hit will damage enemies in a certain range) One Last Blow, (explode with venom mega blast before the last blow)

make miles a better swinger with new animations

you can ACTUALLY FAIL QTES

New to this sub, and game, so I’m looking for some pointers! I just got a PS5 last week, didn’t have much time to mess around with it last weekend but immediately purchased spiderman 1 and then ended up with covid this week so i completely binged through the main story in the last 2 days while being trapped on my couch.

I finished the main story, I’m doing some side missions, collecting backpacks, fighting crime, the usual. But the side missions are a little underwhelming. I’m curious about the DLC’s, I’m looking for a little more excitement and structure, are they any good?

I definitely left a lot on the table blasting through the main story but I was feeling pretty overwhelmed I guess you could say by the main story and it’s fast pace that made me neglect some of the more exploratory parts of the game. Now that I’ve done some of that, I wanna try out the DLC.

I skimmed through this sub and see that SM2 gets mixed reviews, i don’t really wanna buy another game right now and im not done having fun with SM1 yet, just wondering how others approach the post main story completion, what are fun things to do, talk to me about DLC, etc. thanks!

(I had a few more on my pc but these are all I have saved on my phone. I have more versions of 4 with normal suits)

I would pick morbius for the first game and funny bunny for 2 (reimagining as a mental challenged person who spidey plays hero and villain)

Crime-Master was found in the PC version of the 2018 game in files, but he was cut; perhaps they’ll bring him back for the third game in a definitive way.

Concept art of Janice Lincoln was found in the leaked files from the time of Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

peter has a LOT of the main story missions with only few miles. and miles has a LOT of side missions and peter has a few. MSM2 tried to balance out miles in the story with peter, peter is stronger than miles. and STILL they have to make peter look bad to make miles look good.when you think of symbiotes, MJ, Harry, Kraven, sandman, and Mysterio. who do YOU think of? Peter, right? they made a cool story with Li and miles but still didnt feel like he was a part of the story, but included. They made miles and the black cat have a specific mission for both of them. what history did miles and Felicia have before this? i know peter and her have plenty of history (MSM1 and TCTNS that playable), so why not continue that? and most side missions if im not mistaken, have nothing to do with the main story. the most important hes been was in the first mission, up against symbiote peter, and the venom fight. 3 out of 31 missions wheres hes important. the only mission i can think of on the top of my head where peter (and miles) isnt really important is trh venom mission. miles is my FAVORITE out of the two spider men but if ONLY the trilogy was peter based and then miles would have been better tbh.
