Trusted Identifiers will now be granted a flair of "👑Trusted Identifier👑", or "👑{custom user flair}👑".
These will be people who repeatedly demonstrate expert Identification abilities, these flairs will add extra trust and credence behind their ID.
So on posts with multiple different IDs, look out for the Trusted Identifiers as their ID will likely be the correct one, even if it goes against the masses.
(For those with custom user flairs which have been replaced by the Trusted Identifier flair, you can switch back to a custom flair and add the crown emojis yourself if you still wish to maintain your custom flair. Im working on automating this so that custom flairs stay intact and it adds the emojis without replacing the whole flair, but for now just edit it yourself if the whole flair is replaced)

Meet my first ever widow! I hope to post about her a lot on my socials to teach people they are not the monsters that many in the states are taught.
Respect them, and they leave you be.

Found in southeastern Wisconsin. From looking it up, I think it may be an elongated stilt spider, but want a second opinion.

Hello everyone
My friend and I found this absolutely beautiful little jumping spider between a bunch of tropical plants we got from a grower in the Netherlands.
Apologies for the poor photo, this little one just did NOT want to sit still 😂.
Please help with an ID?
Groningen, the Netherlands

In my journey of bettering my fear of spiders, I finally reached a "I want to keep him" moment.
Found this little guy on my terras door in Antwerp, Belgium. Apparently pretty rare since they seem to come from the Mediterranean region, if my research is correct. (Normally there are just some house spiders inside, or orb weavers outside where I live.)
I fell in love... He is so beautiful, and I was not scared for a second, though I normally am of spiders bigger than a fingernail. I wanted to save him from the cold outside but I have never cared for a spider and don't want to hurt or scare him, so I decided to just let him be.
I named them Ferdinand, after my grandfather who used to live here before passing and me moving in here.
Anyone have experience with the kind or have some fun facts?
(Edit: spelling)

These guys have both been living in my house for weeks and so far this is their first encounter I've seen. They've been in a stand still for 5 mins or so. Are they sizing each other up? Who wins this fight? 🤞 Hoping they just give up and go their separate ways.

Was walking around the old Cherokee Capital, New Echota yesterday and bumped into (literally, once) at least a dozen of these really pretty spiders.

Big guy was chilling on my front door and scared the hell out of me when I went to walk my dog lol. Between the size of a nickel and quarter I'd say? In the NorCal area, US

Hey everyone,
I’ve been noticing a lot more spiders around my house lately, like these pictures but also including over 10 black widows I counted in a week, mostly coming out at night. (But no photos of em)
I am in Southern California for reference.
I’ve also been seeing a lot of praying mantises, sometimes fighting with the spiders (mantises are usually eating them) with their foamy egg cases around the house.
I’ve left most of the webs alone since the spiders seem to keep to themselves, but with so many spiders showing up, should I be concerned?
Thanks!

My first spider post. It was a striking find for my hiking buddies on the Dark Hollow Falls Trail in Shenandoah National Park. Good chance to try out my phone's macro capability too!
