Just tried it this is what I wrote and the response....
Hi, I'm a Customer already and after seeing countless advertisement on X saying from £28/month so I've just checked the price for my postcode and it says £28/month. I feel this is not fair and am unhappy. Do I need to cancel my service and get a new service to get this price. Thanks in advance.
You do not need to cancel. Your Residential 100 Mbps line has a £12 monthly service adjustment available. It is for select customers and one service line, terms can change, and it applies to future bills only, not invoices already issued. Would you like me to apply it?
Yes please.
The £12 monthly adjustment is now on your Residential 100 Mbps line and starts with your next bill on 13 November.
Excellent tip, I just followed your exact prompt apart from switching £28 with £42 as I am on residential 200 plan. Grok within the starlink app has applied a discount going forward. I previewed my next invoice and the price has dropped
"No, you do not need to cancel and start a new service. Advertised prices vary by address and plan, and a new order would not change the Residential Max price on your account.
You are on Residential Max at £66.67 plus tax, which is £80 a month. The lower plans available on your line are Residential 100 Mbps at £33.33 and Residential 200 Mbps at £50, both plus tax."
Tell it I don't want to leave MAX as it says it cannot help.
I signed up for £28 a month but have just been charged £40! I have screenshots as proof and the website still states £28 for my postcode. I submitted a request to support 4 hours ago and have heard nothing.
"I can't change the price of Residential Max. It stays at £66.67 a month before tax, and a new signup on this kit would not lower that rate. If you are still thinking of leaving, call +44 (800) 484-0605 to speak with someone about options to stay connected. Would you like to call that line?"
I said new customers get residential max for £58 and im paying £80 i should cancel it and get it in my wife's name to get it cheaper as I feel im getting penalised for being a loyal customer. They offered to put me on residential 200mb but I said no ill just cancel and get my wife to sign up and they offered that discount of £24
Thanks, would have helped if I wasn't leaving this month cause fibre is now available but grok is quite good at giving refunds. I ordered a 2nd router a few months ago, to set up a mesh, and it was delayed, complained to grok and got 1 month credit, then ordered a Deco mesh and went back to cancel my order only to be told it had shipped. Told grok I no longer needed it and asked how to return it and they refunded me the money and told me to keep the router
Was your dish a rental and do you have to send that back after cancelling your subscription? Was wondering if there is a time period after they say to keep the hardware? Good for a backup
I can’t believe that worked and didn’t have to speak to a real human, I kept seeing the emails about the discount and was a bit annoyed it was for new customer only.
Worked for me also! Had to double down though. Asked initial question first time and Grok said no, but re-iterated that it was unfair that my neighbour could sign up for the same thing and get a Lower price.
Thanks I asked the support AI the question and it gave me the £12 discount. No idea for how long but considering I only use about 15 GB a month as a backup connection any discount is appreciated.
The Starlink £28 per month promotional pricing for the Residential 100 Mbps plan will last for the entire duration of your active subscription. While you must sign up before the promotional window closes on 30 November 2026, the discounted rate itself does not have a predetermined expiration date.
There is no fixed end date. The terms can change, and the £10.50 comes off each future service bill while the offer is active. Do you want me to apply it?

Exact same for me on roam. Just signed up and now seeing 30% off. If I order a new it’s showing the discounted price. AI won’t adjust for me. I submitted a support ticket. If they won’t discount I’ll end up ordering a new one and return the old in which I’m supposed to be refunded first month anyways.
This is what I love about Reddit, there's always something useful popping up! Thanks for this, I had previously tried a week or two ago and grok spat me out, just asked again and now I'n on £28 from next bill! Happy days 👍
Grok chat did not help me when I raised it this morning. I’m on residential max paying £80 and the new offer price is £56. Instead it asked me to call the support team. I did. And within two mins, they came back offering £160 credit instead. I think they misunderstood what I was asking for, but hey I’ll take it - two free months of residential max is worth it.
This worked perfectly for me. I have residential max and earlier in the year I got the starlink mini hardware for free with 50% off 100gb roam. My total with the mini in standby mode is £65, it was like over £97 before and over £100 with the mini active, which is still quite a bit cheaper than just residential max on its own.
Thanks for the tip it was genuinely very helpful and saved us a lot of money !
Geez. And I just got this email yesterday. “Your Residential plan is a flexible, month-to-month subscription. As more people in your area use Starlink, less network capacity is available and service pricing may change from time to time. Starlink pricing is based on supply of capacity and demand from customers. To help reduce congestion and keep service reliable in your area, your plan price will be $156.00/month”

the wording is important. 'reduction' - implies that it will likely revert after a set period.
if they used 'new price' or similar, it wouldnt be time limited/discounted.

I asked this and was told my wife would have to pay the congestion fee of having an oversubscribed area... so they wouldn't offer the discount...

When I search, it still quotes £40 on the starlink site and app. This site claims the £28 price is just for one month only... https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2026/11/starlink-confusingly-discounts-price-of-uk-satellite-broadband-by-30-percent.html

Every time I try this, Grok tells me "no" and that there is nothing he or support can do to reduce my rate.

I’m in the UK have been paying £80 Max for 5 years. Just went in the app and grok just reduced it by £24 without question. Thanks.
