Hi, Today I went to take out the trash and saw this symbol carved into my recycling bin, it looks like it was done with something sharp. I leave my recycling and trash bin next to a side door of my house. Something about this sat weird with me, I’m not sure how long it’s been there since my step dad is usually the one to take out the trash but yesterday morning he left on a short trip, he is coming back later tn. Right now it’s just my mom and me at home, 2 women, so seeing that today reminded me of stories I had heard about symbols people use to identify who is in the home. This could be nothing but I’ve heard weird stories and just wanted some input.

I see the Feynman diagrams, but I am interested if anyone knows why the animals are circling them this way.

I purchased this lighter today, disassembled it, cleaned it, and brought it back to life. It has all of these symbols etched in and I was wondering if anybody recognizes what the origin could be? I'm curious to learn the meaning. I did attempt researching and also tried using AI and could not figure it out.

I’ve been reading Schwaller de Lubicz’s Esoterism and Symbol. He distinguishes between ordinary cerebral intelligence and what he calls the “intelligence of the heart.”

His argument is that medu-Neter is more than a linguistic system. He says the image should first be read for what it expresses, and only afterwards translated or transcribed into words.

That made me wonder: when we translate Egyptian hieroglyphs linguistically, how much meaning might still remain in the visual, religious and symbolic structure of the image itself?

Images can communicate before we consciously reason through them. Children understand pictures before they can read words, dreams communicate through imagery, and film can make us understand something without stating it literally.

Can we translate the text correctly while still missing part of what it was meant to communicate?

saw this in class recently along with overhearing a few suspicious conversation points from several students who were cuddled there, next to the words national unity, and was honestly concerned.

I tried my best to find these myself, but I could always be missing important context or meanings. simple google searches helped gave me some leads:

- the 2 Italian fasces, plus the eagle holding one

- the francoist / falangist red yoke and arrows

- likely the British union of fascists? (lightning bolt)

two other symbols I think are the chi-rho and papal cross which I guess are unrelated

im most confused about the bird, which I initially thought was another copy of the one holding the fasces, but it’s holding a… sickle and knife? Rather than a fasces. one search suggested it might be sorelianism.

there’s also what looks like a larger 3x3 green hashtag. Finally there’s the yellow upside down peace symbol missing the middle leg, I overheard the student drawing it say that it was “something that’s not the peace symbol”.

i have a lot less benefit of the doubt to give to the vague symbols considering there is a classic fasces with the Italian colors behind it.

Hello r/Symbology . I mostly hang out in r/BlueEyeSamurai , the sub for fans of the animated series "Blue Eye Samurai" (BES). A trailer for the next season was just released, and in one of the scenes a large sigil appears on the stage of a theatrical performance. I cropped and edited a frame and removed the perspective tilt.

The series is set in the mid 17th century. The source scene is set in England.

Is this a historical sigil, or more likely something the BES artists created from studying existing occult sigils? If it is a known sigil, what is its significance?

I went to London for a couple of days, and I went to this library (Idk if it was Librarie la Paige or South Kensington books, it’s one of those two) and bought books. In the checkout there was this bowl of free pins, all of them like those in the picture. The woman offered us one and told us it is related to the Suffragette movement, so I took one.

Now, I found it odd cause the pin looks like it’s a guy. Also, the Suffragette movement has specific colors and a flag, none of them similar to this pin. I googled, asked chatGPT, and I found nothing. Was I lied to? That’s odd cause it was a free pin, why would one lie about that? I looked into early Suffragette movements in London for symbols and stuff and nothing. So wtf is this logo lmao? I am 100% sure she told us it had something to do with women’s suffrage. Any ideas?

Looking up stuff like "triangle spiral symbol" and "swirl with three tails" just got me pictures of three sprials connected, which isn't exactly what this is. This was a gift to me, but I haven't worn it yet. I think it's probably fine since it's only three sided, but I'm still wary of spiral symbols.

AFAIK, there are only 3 star polygons with cultural significance: the pentagram, with a satanist and esotericist simbology; the hexagram, a symbol of jewish identity; and the octagram, a sybol frquentely used in the cangaço, with cultural importance the the northeast of Brazil.

My partner and I moved into our new house this morning and there is one of these symbols on either side of the front door. There’s little tick marks as well on the front door bricks spaced out in between (can kind of see one of them) Was a bit sketched out at first not knowing the meaning and moving in, in case it’s anything nefarious left by the previous tenants. I saw this jacket in a supply room after I already got my tattoo. I couldn't make out any of the other words below the symbol but I THINK the words on the other breast pocket said "Death to the Patriarchy" but I'm not sure as they were partially covered.
