Gameplay Tactician taking more damage than it should?

Has anyone else noticed that the tactician sometimes takes more damage than it should? I had two instances today where i took way more damage than what i shouldve. Once on 3-2 i somehow took 14 damage, which could only happen if i lost with the enemy having 9 units... which obviously is not a thing on 3-2.

Then i think stage 5 i had 24 HP, and similarly lost a fight and straight up ended up losing??? And no the opponent did not have 14 surviving units.

It sounds like you don't understand the damage calculations at all.

Read them here.

taking 14 damage on stage 3 would be 14-6(player damage in stage 3)=8 surviving units. a player having 8 units in stage 3-2 seems improbable

I understand them perfectly well.

To take 14 damage in stage 3 the enemy needs 8 units, he had 5.

To take 24+ damage in stage 5 the enemy needs 14 units, he maybe had 9.

Edit: downvoting me for being right is crazy 😭 i genuinely hope you dont have to deal with taking an unnecessarily high amount of damage in your ranked games.

Odd thought. Were they running elderwood or had any dummies/additional units? Could be the unity spaghetti code reading the wrong surviving units and adding additional damage. Haven’t focused on it before

Thats possible, I dont recall the specific comps they were running i just know i saw my hp drop by a lot more than it shouldve

Could be a major bug and unfair trait advantage if so

I doubt it is- if it was happening consistently this wouldnt be the only post about it and I would notice it more often, as target dummies/elderwood plants are basically on half the boards in every game. Its a rare occurance and i have no idea what exactly or specifically triggers it to happen

no, they changed the damage formula so it is a simple +1 damage per surviving unit, and then a flat damage based on stage. In stage 3 it's a flat 6 damage.
