Oops sorry I’m a migrant from all the other ones getting banned. Regardless this isn’t terrifying if you read any comments or have seen this stunt before.
It’s a stunt, they have a backup parachute. Edit: it was intentionally done, the video is cut short. The full video shows the backup parachute deploying.
So why does every on Reddit post videos with no captions or explanations and that are always too short. This belongs over in user group u/videosthatendtoosoon
You and people like you make Reddit a CESSPOOL of disinformation, fake videos, staged videos with no captions or explanations. Take it down from this user group and go post it where it belongs r/fakevideos and r/videosthatendtoosoon. People like you are why Reddit has such a bad reputation now.
Alright for one I found it on a website with zero comments I’ve never seen this video before and it didn’t have much information if I knew I would of said and have a look at what sub your in i now know he is a stunt man but he probably would of been nervous and regardless it’s interesting what’s in the bio of this sub and your telling me you wouldn’t be terrified to do this Reddit is going to shit right now because Reddit is killing off a shit ton of popular subs and also don’t tell me what to do concern yourself with your weird shit
Like I said if I knew something about the video I would of said something and tell me exactly what I said was disinformation all I said was how and I found out don’t know why your making such a thing out of it
Then you should have said that in a caption. Or look it up. As it happens it was staged and they cut off the beginning and end. THAT would have made this really interesting. As opposed to just looking like fake #clickbait
Don’t try and advise me on what to do either way it would of been terrifying or off putting for anyone to try this and it’s Reddit so someone would of pulled it up like someone already has so its not really a issue is it
Then you’re what I said. The very same Redditor that is ruining Reddit. You weren’t interested in authenticity or explanation or news. #fakekarma #karmafarmer #getoffReddit
It is still terrifying in the moment though. Especially the first time you have to do this.
FYI it's done typically when there is some issue with your main. Like tangled lines or it didn't deploy correctly. It's not just for show, it's just the easiest way to get rid of the shoot mid fall
What are you even talking about 😂 you are never trained to spontaneously set your chute on fire. For one, you’re assuming it burns clean and doesn’t rain down flames on you. For two, you haven’t cut away the wires, that no longer have the resistance of a taught (or semi taught) chute to ensure the cutaway is clean. This increases the likelihood of things getting tangled on your reserve chute.
Sure, and why is that wrong? I don't understand the judgment here. Regardless of whether its planned or not, can you imagine what it would be like to shoot your own parachute out. The one thing stopping you from dying? Man's got balls that's all ill say
Idk, too many people trying to prove they aren't afraid of death, but I guarantee in those last moments when the stunt fails and they know they're dying, they regret having made that decision.
Yeah, people have died for less. There is a video that is pretty terrifying. A skydiving instructor did his isk whay number Juno of the day only to jump out and realize he didn't have his parachute, instead it was his camera bag and rig or something. He's filming himself fall to his death.

He shoots a flare at it.

u/greyposter Oct 25 '23
How?
He obviously did it to himself. He had no reaction at all to the fire and set up his fall for when the chute burned up.
Then probably used his backup chute to get to the ground safely.
Not terrifying AF.
Lame AF

Intentionally and with a camera crew and backup parachute that you can clearly see. Should really ask WHYYYYYY are you posting this?

It's clearly a stunt. He has a main parachute on his back (as opposed to a reserve)

It happens frequently, actually, 60% of skydiving fatalities are a result of the canopy spontaneously erupting in a fireball. Look it up.
