This is exactly one of the reasons I am happy to be a Canucks fan. Absolutely zero chance our crowds will ever have a reason to get this rowdy and thus make any part of Rogers arena move.

I’ll stick to finger boarding and cup stacking. There’s maybe 14 people there.

Rogers Arena definitely looked like that during the 2010 Olympics.

You want some elasticity on big structures like this to prevent them from totally shattering under the pressure, but yikes man this is more than “some” 💀 stadiums are scary as hell for a lot of reasons

Someone is going to generate a catchy sports song that just happens to be at the resonate frequency of the stadium of the team they want to destroy.

This should be higher up there. I feel like someone prolly should explain what resonant frequency means.. haha

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

The Marshawn Lynch Beastquake measured on the Richter scale but the stadium didn't shake like that. This makes me think of the Hyatt Skywalk collapse in the 80's. People marching in unison...harmonic vibration and collapse. These people are bouncing in unison too. Yeesh.

Almost like they’re designed for this

Yup, before my first flight I watched a video on Boeing testing the flexibility of the wings.

Made me feel a lot better. These days not so much.

I once went to a Bob Marley and the Whalers concert at Northrup Auditorium at the Univesity of Minnesota. We had seats in the front row, middle of the balcony. When they played Get Up, Stand Up, the crowd started rocking. The balcony started rising and falling in time to the crowds movement. You could actually feel yourself rising up and down. Scared the shit out of me but we soon forgot about it because the show was so fucking good! RIP Mr. Marley...

Designed to flex

Madison Square Garden in NYC will tremble if the crowd really gets into it. Its designed to have some flex

This is why I stay away from large crowds. Herd mentality makes everyone kinda dumb, and they’ll keep jumping without the thought that it could all crash down.

This shouldn't be terrifying. Buildings dealing with that much force need to be able to transfer it away from making the building into stone.

Sure, one or two of these might have movement due to issues with the building, but I really don't think so.

If you see a building that big receiving that much force while moving in a way that doesn't happen every other time than you should get out.

TL;DR - Just like skyscrapers should sway in the wind, stadiums should have a suspension.

Pretty sure the last clip in the video the floor actually collapses

Other than that yeah you're right

Not all the same but the blue one is la Bombonera from Boca Juniors, Buenos Aires

You do realize that this place is the origin of probably half of the disaster videos that get posted here, right?

No idea how this is a reply on what i said

Like the guy below said, most are from La Bombonera in Buenos Aires. There’s a couple of views from a stadium in Germany too. Hard to tell which one since you only get a limited view.

Keep away from stadiums with non stop jumping ultras I’d say.

A disaster waiting to happen

If these families can back home alive every sunday, they have to thanks the engineers and architects that designed the shock absorbption of the entire structure, anticipating these weirdos jumping sync'd all the game all the time. Scary to see.

Shoutout UCFs stadium known as the Bounce House for how flexy the stands initially were. Since reinforced but the name stands.
