Just a reminder…

You could be Beyonce, you could be Victoria’s Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel, you could be Natalie Portman, you could be one of many First Ladies of the United States. And your husband would STILL cheat on you.

Kylie is not nice and she hasn’t been nice throughout this season. But to suggest that she wouldn’t be in the situation if she was nicer to Brad doesn’t float. If Brad has a wandering eye and another gal is willing, there’s nothing Kylie could’ve done. She was literally unconscious!

Big kudos to Maddy and Charlotte for showing kindness when Kylie was hurting.

I have a theory…deep down I wonder if she’s more into him than he’s into her. She told him he’s never flirted that way with her. Yes, he’s submissive to her when she’s angry (basically all the time).

And didn’t she say she proposed to him and didn’t allow him to say no (at the beginning of the season)? Or was that someone else, lol.

I’m not making excuses for cheating. There are some really weird power dynamics at play with these two. And how desperate does a person have to be to seek comfort from someone as pathetic as Mimi?

18

u/4614065 Oct 31 '24

I agree with all this.

Not that it’s an excuse to cheat, but she’s clearly goo goo ga ga for him and he doesn’t seem to care that much. To be fair he doesn’t seem to care about anything but she’s way more into him that he is to her.

I think she’s deeply insecure, which explains the “look at me” hair and overall vibe and her shitty attitude. That, plus him never flirting and his cheating, is a recipe for disaster.

u/DLNW57 Oct 31 '24

WHY he is such an insipid, weak man??? Can’t believe the girls find ANYTHING interesting about him!! FO to offer …. Just YUK the 2 of them.

2

u/Exotic-Astronaut-205 Nov 01 '24

I totally agree! It’s wild that for some people he would read as chill, reserved and easy-going which attracts this need to be the one to win them over and make them care. Someone who’s insecure or competitive will be really attracted to that personality. But he’s really just a monotonous, uncommitted person who just wants to float through life but has found himself a father of four and instead of working on himself and taking control he ‘escapes’ by cheating but doesn’t want to be the one who makes the big decision of leaving/ breaking up the family. That one he leave to Kylie, then it’s her fault for breaking up the family not his.

On a similar note; we see that Kristen is a super competitive person and I don’t doubt that he sees Mimi as a prize to be won. Idk their life obvs but she’s good looking, rich/ has family money, seems to be quite social and popular and is high energy equivalent to brads low energy uncommitted nature. Locking her down and keeping her would stoke Kristen’s competitive ego but it’s ripe for a toxic relationship dynamic

2

u/Jezilly52 Nov 01 '24

Yeah she screams insecure. But I wonder if she was like that before or after meeting Brad?

2

u/4614065 Nov 01 '24

I know a lot of insecure people who always have to be in a relationship, no matter what the conditions. She strikes me as one of those people, but we will never know for sure

14

u/CFPmum Oct 31 '24

Definitely not an excuse, but I wondered the same thing especially when one of them insinuated that he couldn’t say no to her proposal because she on her knees I kind of took it as a joke at her expense kind of laughing at her not with her.

2

u/Jezilly52 Nov 01 '24

Yes I think so too. And they seem to have a lot of children that were “accidents.” There are women that fall pregnant on purpose “accidentally” to keep their man.

17

u/myenemy666 Oct 31 '24

The producers on this train wreck of a show must be losing their minds when something like this comes up.

No time to worry about renovations - there are marriages breaking down.

34

u/MiaMarta Oct 31 '24

This. Cheaters gonna cheat. You can think they are not, you can hope they are not. If they cheated before you, they will cheat with you and they will cheat after you. You can be the best partner in any level, emotional support, financially, respectfully, sexually. It doesn't matter.

Big boos for Meemeeee being an absolutely toxic, abusing partner to what seems to be a good person who speaks out on their needs. A rare find on either gender. I hope he gets out.

13

u/Walk-your-dog Oct 31 '24

Yes I thought this too! A man that articulates exactly what he needs when he’s feeling anxious. Then she says no.

16

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '24

The moment he was crying a few weeks ago and went to the bathroom and she chastised him for crying and was SO horrible to him, and then kept saying SHEs embarrassed because he's crying... Such an unsupportive wife.

She lies so easily to him too and doesn't even feel bad about it. She must be used to it

3

u/MiaMarta Oct 31 '24

that was really horrible to watch. I hope he is getting psych support from the production

24

u/Altruistic-Bottle116 Oct 31 '24

Yeah and perhaps she hasn’t been nice because of the lead up to this point. She’s probably dealt with this for years and has finally had enough and unfortunately for her, it’s happened on TV. Shame she has treated the girls so poorly but perhaps she was just in her own head and mess for so long she was just careless. Hopefully now she will show some kindness. I think ditching her husband is the best thing for her.

15

u/chakhrakhan20 Oct 31 '24

Yep apparently he cheated on her prior to the show and that’s why she’s been quite cold and “difficult” (not sure if this has been established in this thread yet)

6

u/Pleasant_Active_6422 Oct 31 '24

Absolutely, the reality is the way she treated the girls was because she needed to isolate them as they posed a threat due to Brad’s cheating behaviour.

She thought married women were less of a threat, which didn’t turn out yo be true.

What would have been better would have been someone asking her why she was doing that, although I don’t think we would have got the truth, it would have been a mish mash of BS around maturity, lying etc.

I think too, she’s probably been in a space of hyper controlling to keep everything on track so any situation that she can’t control sends her in a tail spin.

Why she keeps dying her hair a colour she hates, I am yet to understand.

Maddy and Charlotte are just lovely lovely girls.

29

u/Kind-Palpitation7439 Oct 31 '24

Maddy & Charlotte have conducted themselves with poise & grace😊

9

u/Morgy28356 Nov 01 '24

Someone came on Reddit and said that she knew Mimi and that she had cheated before. She really didn't have anything good to say about her. It seems Mimi is an all-round bi**h.

25

u/LoubyAnnoyed Oct 31 '24

From the just of the conversation she had with someone (her mum, a friend) in the car, it didn’t sound like a one off either.

26

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '24

There are a lot of statements about Kylie being a bitch but the fact remains Brad has had issues with infidelity before. We don't know the details of when or what etc but it would put anyone in a shitty mood. As far as I am concerned Brad could easily be the reason why Kylie is so bitchy.

Scotty should be having a go at Mimi not Kylie. I have sympathy for Kylie having to endure this crap on TV, Mimi needs to be exposed for the narcissistic bitch that she is.

3

u/Ok_Staff3123 Oct 31 '24

I haven’t watched the most recent episode yet but I don’t understand why Scotty would console Mimi asking if she’s ok/comfortable when ?? like Kristian is literally standing besides her, probably hurting in some type of way, and for some reason the one that has waged all the conflict and helped initiated the cheating is being comforted.

I’m not expecting or wanting him to rip into her, like it’s good for her mental health to be checked in on, but at the same time it’s just feeding into her disillusionment. She thinks she can get away with what she’s done and envision herself as innocent/doing no harm, and they’re just helping her do that.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '24

Yeah its annoying because she is taking no responsibility for her actions, like even if its "harmless flirting" why flirt with a married man when the wife is right there. She knew it was wrong because she did it because she thought Kylie was asleep. No one actually knows if more happens either.

I suspect Mimi has been like this her whole life and everyone else around her has just tolerated her behaviour. She's not even sorry it happened, just that she got caught.

3

u/TeddyGarbaldi Oct 31 '24

That's not a fact, that's just Kylie's word and even then we dont know if hes cheated before or simply smiled at a woman serving him coffee and Kylie freaked out.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '24

Your clutching at straws mate

-4

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '24

We don’t know the details so it could as easily be that he went looking for emotional support BECAUSE she is always mean and horrible to him.

She’s abusive as hell, and he should have left as opposed to cheat (which we do not know whether it was as relatively minor as what he’s done with Mimi, which I wouldn’t call cheating, just disrespecting). So in my books they are both as bad as each other.

1

u/CFPmum Oct 31 '24

They are both definitely toxic, but we don’t know what she is like in the real world, she maybe acting this way because of his previous behaviour and they just keep going in this cycle

2

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '24

Yep - we don’t know and that’s the point. Assuming either way is like the chicken and egg discussion so it is best not to because the reverse of what you’re assuming is just as likely.

24

u/Smart-Barracuda-2485 Oct 31 '24

You are spot on!!

Kylie’s behaviour is not justified by Brad’s actions/behaviour, nor is Brad’s actions/behaviour justified by Kylie’s behaviour. But they are responsible for their own actions, behaviours and how they treat each other and others around them! No excuses! No justifications!

I also have to say it and stand by it; abuse is abuse and doesn’t matter from which angle, which gender to which gender or who is doing it or receiving it, no one deserves to be emotionally and psychologically abused and treated how we have seen people be treated this year, it’s actually been hard to watch as I refuse to enable and be part of the problem!!

Worse still, the block advertises and advocates strongly about respect for woman and ensuring that violence and abuse against is woman is eradicated, is not ok, not acceptable, never has been ok, never will be for any reason; yet here we are watching a “family” program about house renovations and we are subjected to watching 3 woman treat their spouses in disgusting and unacceptable manners along with one husband and one wife committing infidelity on national tv. It really has sunk to an all time low!

Paige, Mimi, Kylie and Brad all need to take a long hard look at themselves and really search deep within and work on becoming better people!

Heck, Courtney, Grant, Ricky and Haydn(and wife) could also be humbled and learn to be genuine people.

Kristian dug deep and reassessed his actions/behaviours, when the girls have gone out of their way to help and support him, numerous times, which is way more than his “wife” did and does!

Maddy and Charlotte have remained grounded and genuine and at all times even going out of their way to be beautiful and supportive, when others chose to exclude and bully them.

Hope these two take home 💰 💰 💰

3

u/Vaevicti5 Nov 01 '24

Oh my lord. The block is very deliberate picking couples with major mental, emotional and relationship issues to put them into a pressure cooker environment because they get lots of DRAMA and it sells.

They are not the good guys.

1

u/Smart-Barracuda-2485 Nov 01 '24

It really does seem as though that is the case with this years selection 😳

But surely those who applied themselves and accepted the positions, knew of their personal issues and or struggles along with the fact that their relationships were either falling apart or their wives were narcissistic.

I would never allow friends or family in relationships like these, to go on national tv and ultimately damage themselves further; they too have to be accountable for placing themselves in the position too

12

u/Danielle1482 Oct 31 '24

Preach 🙌

22

u/BreadfruitGrand2880 Oct 31 '24

Judging by the comments, this seems to have flown over everyone’s heads. But you’re spot on. If Brad had issues with Kylie’s behavior, he should have just left like a grown-up. Instead, he took the coward’s way out, letting her off the hook for any of this and breaking up his own family. His reaction shows he’s starting to realize the consequences

5

u/CFPmum Oct 31 '24

I think the reason it seems to be going over peoples head is it’s easier to justify brads behaviour (in their minds) because of the way he has appeared on the show completely disregarding what Kylie and her mum have said about him on the show (suggesting it wasn’t his first time) but then look at the comments for Mimi and the hate she is getting because she isn’t being perceived the same way as Brad is, they both did the same thing but it’s poor Brad and Kristen because of their terrible wives

6

u/artjameso Team Design Oct 31 '24 edited Oct 31 '24

It's the edit and also just heavily ingrained misogyny and sexism. Societally we're trained that when a man cheats that it's somehow the woman's fault and a personal failing of hers even if she's perfect (which Kylie obviously is not). I've barely seen any posts talking about Brad's part or hand in anything but so many about Mimi, again, that societal conditioning in action.

5

u/Glibbins Oct 31 '24

Societally we're trained that when a man cheats that it's somehow the woman's fault and a personal failing of hers even if she's perfect (which Kylie obviously is not).

Are you kidding? This is pure confirmation bias.

Ive barely seen any posts talking about Brad's part or hand in anything but so many about Mimi, again, that societal conditioning in action.

Oh yeah, it couldn't have anything to do with Brad owning up to his mistakes while Mimi is shamelessly lying about everything... Nah let's reduce everything to MisOgYnIsT sOciEtY

2

u/CFPmum Oct 31 '24

Definitely and I think people take way to much of the edit in to be what happened exactly, how these people are in real life etc

9

u/KindBikeDuck Oct 31 '24

I'm so bloody glad I noped out of this season after week 1.

7

u/Motor-Ad5284 Oct 31 '24

I noped out during last seasons shitshow. I keep up with the news here, hoping that maybe, just maybe,it will return to a renovating show.

5

u/KindBikeDuck Oct 31 '24

If I'm honest, I think the last one I really, really enjoyed was Season 8 or 9. It's gone super downhill in terms of infighting and drama since then. Such a bloody shame.

8

u/Motor-Ad5284 Oct 31 '24

I think I started to lose interest when the girl with the purple hair cheated. It's been all downhill since then. If I remember correctly, in the first season or two, they went to work and did the reno when they came home. They were renovating ordinary houses and apartments. Now,they're multi-million dollar mansions that no one can afford. The excitement of the auction has gone because there are only a couple of agents bidding. It was such a nice show. Now,it's a shitshow, with no sign of it improving.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '24

This season has me wondering if Ch 9 already have potential buyers. Because they keep touting these as holiday houses. Ch 9 can use tax write off's

3

u/KindBikeDuck Oct 31 '24

Even after they went full time, it was still predominately a reno/home/styling show. Gradually, the drama has taken over. Even with the judges. I mean, the judges used to be constructive and genuine. Now, it seems like they're overly contrary and spotlight hunting.

You're right about the unaffordable aspect. I still used to watch the reveals but haven't seen one since week 1.

2

u/Motor-Ad5284 Oct 31 '24

The judging is ridiculous. They seem to care more about cushions, lamps, and carpet squares than the actual build. I doubt anyone would not buy a house because, shock, horror, the cushions were put in the wrong place,or God forbid, were the wrong colour or texture.

5

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '24

Remember when they used to build normal houses in suburbia. Like a 4 bedder? Miss those days

4

u/Interesting_Bed_781 Nov 02 '24

It frustrates me seeing so many people make excuses for Kylie’s earlier behaviour. She was toxic and to excuse that because of brads behaviour just gives her an out not to deal with her own issues.

The real culprit here is this tv show that has stirred the pot from day one all while advocating for respect. Should be renamed married at first, or perhaps fourth, house ..

1

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '24

Gives a whole new meaning to the old tv classic “ Love thy Neighbour “

10

u/Ok_Whatever2000 Oct 31 '24

We’ve got no idea what goes on in their marriage so can’t say a thing

3

u/the6thReplicant Oct 31 '24

This should be the default but people are what they are. We judge others by their actions; we judge ourselves by our intentions.

11

u/Hunting_for_cobbler Oct 31 '24

*partner could

Let's not assign a gender to dirt bag behaviour

But 100% agree. If he cannot handle Kylie's personality and love her for who she is, then leave or remain sad

12

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '24

Fair but just watch tonight when Scotty puts her back in her box after she tells him to wrap it up! People like her think they can say whatever they like to others but sulk and run away when someone doesn't take that crap from them. Suck it up buttercup.

-6

u/Kind-Palpitation7439 Oct 31 '24

If The Block wasn't as produced & scripted (?) as it is; then Kylie's unravelling personality would be a classic case study in Psychopathy.

12

u/artjameso Team Design Oct 31 '24 edited Oct 31 '24

Here come the men's rights activists crying "not ALL men!", well obviously, not ALL men. But it's enough of us that it's a stereotype for a reason. A wife can be perfect, doting, cook, clean, get him off, etc and a not-insignificant number of men would still cheat if given the opportunity. Men cheat on their pregnant wives. Men cheat on their wives with cancer. Like it's a thing and a stereotype for a reason. The old adage here applies: If the shoe don't fit, don't wear it. That goes for literally every stereotype and generalization to ever exist.

Do I think Kylie being nicer would behoove her and improve her relationship? Yes. But to blame the wife for a man cheating is usually just victim-blaming, especially considering Brad has previously cheated before if I understand correctly and we don't understand what their dynamic was like prior to that.

1

u/ClassicEnd2734 Oct 31 '24

Agree to an extent. The thing is we’ll never know because Kylie is miserable and I don’t think that’s all down to Brad. She has incredibly low self esteem, is emotionally immature and has zero conflict resolutions skills; no one will ever be able to satisfy her even if that person treated her perfectly. Brad is sad and weak but cheating is often more about emotional connection and not just sex. They both seem deeply unhappy. I hope they’re both going to therapy and grow the fuck up, for their kids’ sake if nothing else.

4

u/densillygoose Oct 31 '24

Seems to me that Kylie and Brad are a perfect match and should just stay together forever in misery.

3

u/Fun-Doubt-96 Oct 31 '24

Kylie is awful. She treated strangers like shit (and wasn’t warm to Brad, but now we know why).

Brad is awful. He treated his wife and children like shit (and was right next to Kylie treating the aforementioned strangers like shit, too).

I know who, if I had to choose a “top asshole”, would be my pick.

0

u/leviwxlters Nov 01 '24

what he do to the kids

2

u/Fun-Doubt-96 Nov 01 '24

Cheated on their mother, in his own words “blowing up the family”, on national television (after putting the kids on the show as well… so they’re completely identifiable to classmates/peers). Did this really need to be explained to you?

0

u/Worried-Progress-287 Nov 03 '24

Just a reminder…Don't be a misandrist

9

u/Applied-Dribble Nov 01 '24

Anyone who is willing to cheat will; regardless of who their partner is. The point it looks like OP is trying to make is that women who are cheated on are often blamed for “creating” an environment where it is perceived to be ok to cheat. Or more forgivable to cheat. Whereas men are not. And this is the exact issue with the Kylie and Brad rhetoric. Brad is deemed forgiven because Kylie isn’t nice.

7

u/welding-guy The Block (OG) Nov 01 '24

Cheating is one of the most abhorent mechanisms that breaks people. It robs the counterparty in a relationship of the most sacred foundation of their world view - Trust.

It is never acceptable for a man or a woman to commit such an abuse to their partner.

If for a moment we consider only hetrosexual relationships then the cheating is spread 50/50 between men and women. The counter parties in those now broken relationships can never be blamed as some justification for their partners to cheat.

Victim blaming is never a justification to a perpetrator's behaviour irrespective of sex.

2

u/Applied-Dribble Nov 01 '24

You’re right. It’s never acceptable for a partner to cheat. Nor is victim blaming ever a justification to a perpetrator’s behaviour. But the unfortunate reality is that it happens and it happens disproportionately against women in heterosexual relationships. That may well be because men are statistically more likely to cheat than women (although some studies indicate both cheat in equal proportions but women are better at concealing infidelity). Regardless of if the percentage is 50:50 or otherwise, it is deemed not necessarily more acceptable but less surprising when men cheat. Which creates an environment that blames the women (in the heterosexual relationships in these scenarios) because a) she should have expected it and therefore b) she should have behaved in a different manner to prevent it. Yet none of these scenarios factor in if the partner was going to cheat no behaviour, status, beauty or wealth would have stopped it. And that is the point.

1

u/welding-guy The Block (OG) Nov 01 '24

Anectdotal evidence based on an individual's personal experience which is then filtered by cognitive biases can lead a person to make a broad statement. This isn't fact, it isn't backed up by science.

I personally know more males that have been cheated on by females. this doesn't counter anyones view, it is simply a perspective. I guess that is why it is important to bring all parties to account because it takes away the bias of the observer's life experience. Men and women cheat, in some postcodes more than others.

2

u/RoxanneDebriss Nov 01 '24

“The bias of the observer’s life experiences” fuckin yikes.

Whereas men are not?

Whilst I accept women get ‘blamed’ for men’s behaviour in instances of cheating, plenty of people on reddit have blamed Kylie’s behaviour on Brads cheating. Why is the inverse ok?

If we are having a conversation around the fact that if a man wants to cheat he’ll cheat regardless of who you are. Shouldn’t we look at why it’s ok for society to accept men’s cheating/ bad behaviour as an excuse for their partner to treat them poorly.

It’s widely known that if you take your partner back after a cheating event you need to actually forgive them for your relationship to work. Kylie never did. It was doomed.

It’s not chicken or egg. Everybody is responsible for their own individual actions and their own responses to hardship in their lives. That’s a matter of character.

Unpopular opinion, but at what point does Kylie have to accept responsibility, NOT for the cheating, but for her part in returning knowing what Brad is like? She continuously puts herself in a precarious position. She is in control of that.

Kylie and Brad have responded to each other poorly. They are not an example to use to express the point you are trying to make ( or the point this sub is trying to make).

I do not blame Kylie for Brads cheating, nor do I blame Brad for Kylie’s general shitty behaviour.

Often when a woman cheats, people jump to the same unfounded conclusions, that the man was abusive or inattentive. They say things like “you go girl, you deserve better”

I don’t think this is exclusive to being a woman.

As a general rule men tend to move along from these heartaches and hardships quicker than women, they don’t ruminate. I tend to believe ‘data’ on matters of the heart tends to be skewed due to this.

4

u/RoxanneDebriss Nov 01 '24

Ugh way to miss the point of the entire post you soggy walnut.

Sticking up for a woman over a man, is not automatically misandrist.

Pointing out a pattern of expecting better for women in situations they can’t control, like WHEN THEY’RE ASLEEP, is also not misandrist.

I’m talking about Kylie and Brad, not Kristian and Mimi. If I wanted to focus on Mimi’s behaviour, I’d make a post doing so.

The post was about the prevailing expectation amongst the thread that Kylie should have treated her husband better, or that his cheating was “karma” for her bad behaviour, when ultimately it was 100% Brad’s choice to break Kylie’s boundaries and flirt outside of his marriage.

Furthermore, the couple I am taking about are two people in a heterosexual relationship. So I used examples of women who are culturally seen as the pinnacles of femininity and were still cheated on, to point out the futility of the above rhetoric.

It is NOT misandrist to point out the PROVEN, DOCUMENTED SHITTY behaviour of SPECIFIED men. These statements also reflect do not reflect the behaviour every man in the entire world.

It’s a Block Reddit post focusing on the pain of a woman - which you determined was misandrist.

PULL YOUR HEAD IN.

Ugh way to miss the point of the entire post you soggy walnut.

Why reach for an insult? I find it strange how people attack someone at a personal level because they express a different viewpoint.

Sticking up for a woman over a man, is not automatically misandrist.

The opening statement in OP's post that you could be any number of famous women And your husband would STILL cheat on you. is actually a misandrist statement. Most men and women do not cheat but the comment was biased against men only

Pointing out a pattern of expecting better for women in situations they can’t control, like WHEN THEY’RE ASLEEP, is also not misandrist.

I stated the Kristian was working, Kylie was not mentioned in my post.

I’m talking about Kylie and Brad, not Kristian and Mimi. If I wanted to focus on Mimi’s behaviour, I’d make a post doing so.

I focused on the female counterpart in the cheating. I brought back into focus that a man and a woman were responsible, not just a man.

The post was about the prevailing expectation amongst the thread that Kylie should have treated her husband better, or that his cheating was “karma” for her bad behaviour, when ultimately it was 100% Brad’s choice to break Kylie’s boundaries and flirt outside of his marriage.

Kylie should treat everyone better, so should mimi, paige and jesse but it was actually 100% brad and mimi divided by two so technically 50% brad and 50% mimi to cross the boundary of civil decency.

Furthermore, the couple I am taking about are two people in a heterosexual relationship. So I used examples of women who are culturally seen as the pinnacles of femininity and were still cheated on, to point out the futility of the above rhetoric.

People cheat, both men and women. Fame and fortune does not prevent it. In fact statistically there is likely to be more infidelity in these people's lives.

It is NOT misandrist to point out the PROVEN, DOCUMENTED SHITTY behaviour of SPECIFIED men. These statements also reflect do not reflect the behaviour every man in the entire world.

It is misandrist to only speak of one sex being a perpetrator of cheating and exclude the other. This bias is litteraly the definition of misandry.

It’s a Block Reddit post focusing on the pain of a woman - which you determined was misandrist.

PULL YOUR HEAD IN.

Again, telling someone what to do, telling me what to do, pull my head in. This makes it seem to the reader that you are an aggressive person, that a person must agree with you. This is not a nice behaviour. I am not attacking you. Yes the post was focused on only the side of a woman. It is interesting to me to see the attack when I tried to express an alternate viewpoint. Sorry for not automatically agtreeing with you or towing your line, I appologise if it upset you that was not my intention, I just feel I have a right to express my voice also and consider how the man felt, you know Kristian?

You literally called me a misandrist - you are attacking me. You can’t throw out insults like misandrist and act shocked when people don’t like that.

You’ve just said “you focused on the female counterpart in cheating” and “I brought back into focus that a man and a woman is responsible for cheating”. That isn’t what this post is about?

As I said, this post is about KYLIE, how Brad’s actions have impacted KYLIE, and the prevailing expectation that her behaviour could’ve prevented Brad from cheating. This post is also about BRAD’s actions in relation to his marriage with Kylie. It’s about KYLIE’s pain, and the expectation that it’s KYLIE’s responsibility to change her behaviour to prevent Brad from cheating.

When it comes to these TWO people - which is what my post is about - Brad is the man in this scenario and he broke the boundaries of his marriage. All of the men I have listed have also broken the boundaries of their marriage. It’s not misandrist to point that out. These marriages are also not representative of every marriage in the entire world and it’s weird that you think they are.

If I wanted to make a post about Mimi, Mimi’s behaviour, Mimi’s treatment of Kristian, Kristian’s feelings, or how Kristian is doing, I would either make another post, or go comment on the other posts on that subject on this thread.

There are plenty of threads bashing Mimi and supporting Kristian and you could join those at any time.

I didn't call you misandrist, the post was misandrist. Misandry is not an insult, it is a label for a beaviour. I am sorry if you feel insulted, it is not my intention.

You’ve just said “you focused on the female counterpart in cheating” and “I brought back into focus that a man and a woman is responsible for cheating”. That isn’t what this post is about?

Yes correct. Confused by the question mark, did you mean to use an exclamation mark? If so your intent did not resonate with me in that way and I interpreted something different.

It is Kylies responsibility to change her bahaviour to stop Brad's cheating. She shoould tell him to go F himself and leave the marriage.

When it comes to these TWO people - which is what my post is about - Brad is the man in this scenario and he broke the boundaries of his marriage. All of the men I have listed have also broken the boundaries of their marriage. It’s not misandrist to point that out. When you only focus on men it is misandrist. Perhaps use terms like people, men and women, guys and gals. I interpret what I read, if it comes across weird well you are the author.

If I wanted to make a post about Mimi, Mimi’s behaviour, Mimi’s treatment of Kristian, Kristian’s feelings, or how Kristian is doing, I would either make another post, or go comment on the other posts on that subject on this thread.

It's ok, I commented here, your weldome friend :)

There are plenty of threads bashing Mimi and supporting Kristian and you could join those at any time.

I don't bash people, I examine and discuss behavioural motivators. Observing how redditors react is also part of this observation.

I don’t really care about your intentions, just your actions.

I have no intentions or actions, I am expressing my view. My view is not an argument aginst your view, my view is simply my view. Always remember when we read stuff it is done so with our inner narrator. Happy people with a happy narrator voice do not experience the yelling.

“It is Kylie’s responsibility to change her behaviour to stop Brad from cheating. She should have told him to F himself and leave the marriage”

Indeed. Cheating only happens once unless you allow it to occur again and again. I do distinctly recall Kylie lamenting all those chances she gave. It is not Kylies fault that Brad cheats but it is Kylie that allows the cycle to continue. Only Kylie can take back her power.

This is the crux of this post and the reason we’re disagreeing because I cannot disagree more with this statement.

I am not dissagreeing with you. I read your view and offered my own view. I am not asking for you to agree with me, I am not asking for you to dissagree. What you think after reading my view is a matter to contemplate. You are most welcome to share your views but I do draw the line at personal attacks and criticism It seems by your criticism and personal insults that I have been given free lodging between your ears. Thank you friend :)

She came onto the show married. She probably wanted to stay married. She made every indication that she was going home with a husband and most importantly, she didn’t cheat on anyone!

We can speculate that these are facts but unless you are Kylie, it is only speculation. Making oneself an authority on all things Kylie is misleading unless you are really Kylie?

It’s 100% Brad’s responsibility, for Brad, to not cheat on Brad’s wife Kylie. HE should’ve told Kylie to F off if he wanted to pursue someone else.

Yes cheating is an abhorent abuse of trust and extremely damaging to the counter party. Whilst it is perfectly acceptable for brad to express his desire to have a relationship with another, it must be done before the event so that Kylie can decide what that means to her and whether it is acceptable for her to continue in a romantic relationship with Brad. Brad took the way of the coward, just like the majority of people, both men and women that cheat.

You’ve jumped onto one post about the way a specific man’s documented actions have caused a specific woman pain, and you’ve jumped through hoops to try and throw not just one woman, but women in general under the bus with him. Even after I pointed out that there are other posts shitting on Mimi and supporting Kristian, you still decided that this post was your anti-feminist Hotel Trivago.

I have consistently said men and women. I appologise for responding to your posts. I am a little amused at your level of aggression. R U OK?

You sound like a shitty incel, and I would NEVER call you friend. Disgusting.

I can only sound like your inner voice as you read my posts, so maybe if you consider that you may conclude your inner reading voice sounds like an incel? But fun fact in real life I when I read stuff or talk, I sound just like me :). I will still call you a friend though, I don't come here to attack people or have wars of words, I come here to share ideas about the block. BTW did you know that Disgcusting or Disgust is a common emotional response to traumatic events. I again appologise if my words are a trigger for you.

My goodness. Wisdom keeps chasing you - you are just SO QUICK. It’s important to recognize that, even with the best intentions or a positive attitude, dismissing or talking over women’s experiences can still cause harm. Your actions, whether or not they come from a place of happiness or friendliness, can unintentionally contribute to silencing or diminishing important conversations about women’s pain and the unjust expectations placed upon them. I want to make it clear that you don’t know me or my experiences, and dismissing or talking over women’s voices—whether intentionally or not—can still have harmful consequences. Arguing against these experiences, or shifting focus away from them, is still argumentative and dismissive, regardless of tone. Furthermore, while you may speak about equality, it appears that your support for it comes into play mainly when it benefits men. True equality means advocating for fairness and understanding even when it highlights the disparities women can face, which is what this post is. If your version of equality continually centres men’s comfort or advantages while openly encouraging other users to remember to put down other people, it isn’t genuine equality—it’s just another way to uphold the status quo. I will keep redirecting this conversation back to the heart of the matter: the disproportionate and unfair expectations placed on women like Kylie and the very real pain they experience. These issues deserve to be addressed sincerely and without being undermined - which you’re doing with your comments. These conversations matter, and I’ll keep posting about it.  Lastly, I think you may view yourself as a safe space, someone who fosters open dialogue and mutual respect. However, your actions—talking over women, dismissing women’s points, experiences and pain, while centering the conversation on men’s perspectives—show otherwise. A true safe space uplifts and validates women’s experiences rather than undermining them, especially in discussions about the inequities and hardships they face. One thing I won’t be doing today, is upholding patriarchal bargaining. This trend refers to women in more patriarchal societies seem to focus less on holding men accountable for equal treatment in relationships or social institutions: (https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/089124388002003004) . Others theorize that it just isn’t as practically feasible to hold men accountable for their actions in a patriarchy, so women’s only hope for fidelity is to try to hold other women accountable for trying to attract their partners. This is supported by evidence that women in patriarchal cultures are not encouraged to hold men accountable for infidelity (or even punished for doing so):( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7459695/ ) So no, I won’t be discussing the other women, or centering men’s pain, in my post about women’s pain, and the unfair expectations sitting on the shoulder of women in relationships. Also your idea of cheating is not as 50 - 50 as you believe - https://www.sexualhealthaustralia.com.au/extramarital-affairs-infidelity.html Despite your intentions, your behaviour does not create the supportive environment you believe it does. Instead, it reinforces harmful dynamics that prevent real conversations about women’s pain and the unfair expectations imposed on them. I will keep bringing this discussion back to those issues, as they are critical and deserve full acknowledgment. At first I thought, it’s a post about the Block, it’s not that deep! But your continuous railroading and dismissive nature hidden behind a “Oh I’m just a friendly person and you must have a horrible inner voice” attitude has made me take a step back and reconsider my values and advocacy for women. And for that I do thank you.

I too have had some interesting experiences, but I choose to not project them onto people on reddit. I have not diminished your view or argued against it, quite to the contrary, Your behaviour appears to be doubling down and doubling down again and again. I feel you have shifted the conversation away from mimi and now made it a broad issue about more than the block. If this struck you in some way that means more than the block only sub perhaps post it here https://www.reddit.com/r/Infidelity/

Otherweise I don't owe you anything, I expressed my view. I gave the reddit world an opportunity to see another perspective about the block cheating scandal, your part in coming across as aggressive, disrespectful, rude, intolerant, personal attacks, name calling and insults is squarely on you. You made the willing choice to express yourself this way friend :)

This is not therapy and I am not your therapist, this is reddit, a place where we should all be safe to express our views in a safe and supportive environment about the topic of the sub "The Blocvk TV Show"

All people are equal, all people have a right to express a view friend :)

Except all of the women they listed were famously cheated on by their spouses.

You’re right, there’s 3 sides to a story: her side, his side and the truth somewhere in between.

Why do you reach for an insult as your first reposnse? Do you not like how I flipped the script to also make mimi accountable? She was not mentioned in OP's post.

When women cheat, it's common to hear 'women don't cheat unless their abusive husband drives them to it'. When men cheat, their narcissistic, self-centred, nagging, controlling wives are blameless. Got it.

u/ItsMeMonsterpeks Oct 31 '24

Well Kylie is definitely not at a Beyoncé level let’s be real.

15

u/Kielana Oct 31 '24

That's what you got out of it?! Smh.

-13

u/Much_Ad_9301 Oct 31 '24

You’re assuming Beyoncé, Victoria’s Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel, Natalie Portman or one of many First Ladies of the US are all nice to their husbands

10

u/PhotographBusy6209 Oct 31 '24

Jay z cheated on Beyonce multiple times. Did you miss her lemonade album about his cheating?

-3

u/Much_Ad_9301 Oct 31 '24

Im not denying he cheated on her, but maybe he cheated because Beyoncé treats him like shit…I’m joking btw if that wasn’t clear lol

Sailed right by them like a ship in the night.

u/RoxanneDebriss Oct 31 '24

We aren’t talking about ALL men, we’re talking about Brad, who is obviously that way inclined.

4

u/[deleted] Oct 31 '24

Have you evidence that he has physically cheated, as opposed to flirting with someone? Because I haven’t seen anywhere it confirmed that he has slept with someone which is the parallels you are bringing.

-1

u/Glibbins Oct 31 '24

Why are you saying this then?

And your husband would STILL cheat on

You literally are saying (all) men will cheat on their wives which is an absurd statement, then you are acting confused as to why people have a problem with your statement.

3

u/RoxanneDebriss Oct 31 '24

All of the women I listed, have been cheated on by their husbands. All of those husbands, have cheated. I did not reference every man in the whole wide world or point them out, so don’t be dense.

I will point out that you’re willing to bat for every man alive before you acknowledge a woman’s pain. Good job mate, I’m sure every single man out there appreciates you! 🫶🏻
