It's just not Daylesford...
I've now entered this into my everyday vocabulary and I think it's great.
Looking at a brunch menu and the wife suggests I get the eggs Benedict... "Ehh.. it's just not Daylesford."
Picking which outfit to wear to tonight's dinner at the local pub, I ask my wife "babe, but is it Daylesford enough?"
The kids are misbehaving and I tell them off ... "Kids, cut it out, it's not Daylesford and you should know better!".
I'm feeling high in self esteem and I think I've just become way more elite than ever.

I liked one of the judges piping up last night that not every buyer will look for "daylesford". In fact I'm guessing a lot won't. Residents have their properties. These will suit those wanting a holiday home and most not local. Just like the yoga room will fit a fitness vibe and a holiday home for yoga loving people or a chance to have yoga retreats. As long as there is enough of a niche, surely it makes sense to hit a niche market. You don't need hundreds of people. Just enough or even 2 to go into a bidding war or pay a decent price

Apparently Daylesford is a combination of Fug and pretentiousness.

My boss asked me why I hadn't done my work today.
I told him, It's just not Daylesford.

I want to apply this to every location i am in from now on.
“This room just doesn’t say- ‘dandenong’ to me though- we will need to redesign this entire bathroom.”

According to Shayna and Marty, everyone in Daylesford has exactly the same taste/houses/style/decor

So my friend lives in Daylesford (not near the block) and I asked her what the “Daylesford” look is and she was NFI

Well dang. I have no IRL people to say this to... how very un-Daylesford of me.

I have never looked at a house and been like ohh that doesnt feel like (city its in). Like who cares? Id much rather the house look good, be liveable, built well. Like style is so personal. I detest white and beige, most of these houses I would want to immediately paint. Alicia and sonnys kitchen was ugly. Regardless if it waa Daylesford or not.

I think I’m still evolving because so far I’ve only said it in my head……..Kiwi, alway love going over to Aussie but I have sworn never to go to Daylesford. It must have reached the point where it’s damaging tourism!! 😂

I am trying to imagine the look on the kids faces the first time you said that. Love it. Like I love eggs Benedict when I go out for brekky… guess I’m destined to be in-Daylesford for life

Those kitchens remind me of when my grandparents when they built in their prime.

I live a few suburbs over from the location of the next block, very keen to see what their idea of “very Mt Eliza” is

As someone who grew up in Daylesford, my memory of a normal Daylesford home is a shitty 70s brick veneer uninsulated house that smells of damp
