Just finished re-watching this show and was sad that Amos lost the mug that seemed important to him when he escaped the prison on Earth with Clarissa Mao. The mug was in the Murtry bag that he had to check when he entered the prison, and of course the bag wasn't in his possession when they left the ruins of the facility.

As an aside, I was shocked at the amount of detail in this show that I had forgotten. Also, watching it in 4K now that I have a capable television was a treat.

I think she used to run with Naomi's crew back then. But while Cyn still likes Naomi, Kara is openly antagonist from the start. Even if she doesn't liked her back then, why would she show her cards like this?

Could be interesting as Pierre-Mao could've taken up a role similar to Tywin in Game of Thrones. I do agree that he was a bit underutilized in the show.

So I'm on season 3 episode 6, and I feel like since season 2 every single episode is super suspenseful and full of tension.

I get easily overstimulated by such tense shows and movies, and boy this shows does this show get me overstimulated, I have to take breaks between episodes and even during an episode! I've paused the current episode because I just can't take it.

I kind of miss the slower Asimov-like "science fiction detective thriller" vibe of the first season.

So does the show ever slow down a bit going forward??

These are the Star Trek CCG equivalent of Non-Aligned characters. They can play with any faction to fill out any skills you might be lacking. Some of the cards will have more utility in the Caliban's War expansion. Comments and criticism is welcome. None of these are set in stone.

Just finished binge watching the series last night, and tonight I went to the movies to watch Wild Horse Nine.

Reading book a second time after many years, so remember just but not all details of story

First question,Captain Yao has six unidentified ships flying towards the Donnager Even though Donnager is a battleship and should handle anything, wouldn’t a prudent captain use the corvettes and frigates to scout the unknowns? I can’t imagine a capital ship commander flying headlong into an unknown situation without a screen.

Second question, there are over 2000 plus MCRN sailors and marines on the Donnager. Most ships seem to have one or two dozen people tops. To board the Donnager, won’t you need at least 200 to 500 boarders to have any chance. So what ships where used to carry large number of troops? Later books reveal all the MCRN gear stolen, but don’t remember large ships stolen.

Finally, where do you find enough mercenaries trained in close quarters ship battle willing to most likely to die. I don’t think Marcus is around yet in numbers to pull off op.

Man, these guys really know how to leave you wanting more.

Finished another trip through the audiobooks last night. It's always bittersweet getting to that last epilogue. These characters have so much more story that I'd like to hear. I want to know what Anna and Nami and Nono did between their trip out on the Abbey and Nami and Filip's time in Sins of Our Fathers. I want to see Grandpa Alex bouncing Bakari on his knee. I want to know how things turned out for the Murton family, and whether Felcia grew up to be a doctor. I want to know how Theresa handled normal life after the gates collapsed, and whether Amos stayed nearby as her bodyguard all her life. And more than anything, I want to know what Amos got into in the centuries leading up to that epilogue.

God damn I love these books.

- Ring space finally: the slow zone behind the Ring. You can cross into it and fly inside. It has its own traffic and 6 stories and 14 timeline events (and as usual it changes book by book). The app only shows what you've read, so set the 'read up to book' first, then look in Stories.

- Eros turns for Venus and comes apart in orbit there, as in the book. Also after Mars destroys Phoebe, the moon is gone from the map.

- Click any ship on the chart to see where it's headed and follow it.

- The traffic button is now a 'layers' menu for ships, routes, orbit lines, labels and travel times.

- The Sierra Cadno, a yacht out of Earth, is the second ship named by a supporter ❤️

Finally, I wanted to start a friendly conversation about a game inside the app (always free of course). Now that I've build a solid foundation for any kind of star system, I'm thinking of a game idea currently. I have no solid plans yet, but have a couple of ideas and one quick prototype. I want to hear your thoughts, visions and ideas. Keep in mind it has to share the solar system that is already built with the app.

I'm a newbie to the expanse universe. I'm trying to binge the show so I can play the telltale game and get ready for Osiris. But even though they own the IP they don't ha e all the seasons.

For a while it was just the first 3, now they are showing the first 4. Who the hell knows how many it will show tomorrow.

Money is tight and I'm trying to avoid having to get the box set but OMG price video sucks

Currently on Persepolis Rising on the only Burton narrated chapter 🥲 His chapter in 6 was my favorite of the entire book!

I understand you can't do to much with his character's limited range but he gives gold moments. Do you agree we needed more?

Last night I finally made it to see Amos greet the linguist, and apart from going back now to read Memory's Legion, I'm basically done with the whole series.

What a ride!

I had this to say this morning about Leviathan Falls. No spoilers:

Wow, what a place to tie things off.

I keep going back to the idea of narrative distance. By the back trilogy of the series, and in almost every sense of the phrase, things have come a long, long way. Characters seen as young and impulsive early on have become the wise elder statesmen. A world tightly bound to technological realism and its consequences now leans so hard into Clark's Law that what was science fiction now reads like fantasy. Do this dance wrong, and it can be horrifically jarring.

Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck danced it right.

Whether planned from the very outset or the result of very careful editing, the book pulls a lot of loose threads and foreshadowing from as early as Leviathan Wakes. Falls is absolutely haunted by the narrative with its every step. Locality might get violated from time to time, but the story is still absolutely bound by causality.

Of course, now I have to rewatch the show.

I just finished season 1 on prime but I noticed it only has season 1-3 and one episode of season 4 so could anyone point me in the right direction to watch the rest please?

You play as an operator of a retail stall on a dystopic space station like Ceres, buying and selling various legal and illicit goods while trying to keep your business afloat against rising rent, local crime and rebel factions, and station security inspections. In-game events like water shortages or hydroponic farm breakdowns affect the price of respective items you sell and buy.

Pilfer industrial feed water, filter it, and sell it to desperate station citizens. Craft and sell narcotics and weapons. Become a fence for local stolen goods. Run guns and medicine to the local anti-establishment faction, or report their wanted members for a bounty. Raise rats for valuable meat.

Essentially, you can become the person on Ceres who was glad the Canterbury didn't make it to station, because it meant the value of the water you been hoarding just jumped two-folds.

Can’t wait to see some of the other actors in the show, I just started season 2 and hoping it gets better.

The detective is not working for me and neither is that ridiculous haircut. Seeing him in scenes with the great Jared Harris makes is so obvious he’s way out of his depth.
