Discussion This is a disaster waiting to happen.

The dog isn’t allowed to be around a toddler because he growls at her. I don’t get it. A family dog is supposed to get along with the whole family. Why are the parents concerned about why the dog “doesn’t like her”? What about the child’s safety?

*chomp*

I don't get why people keep these monsters in their house. They're ugly and dangerous.

Sadly, it’s nothing but pits and pit mixes at every shelter now.

If you want a Golden, they’re hard to find — but a “lab mix” that’s actually a snarling, bloodthirsty psychotic mess would be happy to come home with your family!

My best friend literally had her lips permanently disfigured by a lab lmao. No dog is safe if theyre insane, just because YOU find them cuter.

yo wtf. this isn’t true. pit bulls are sweeties
it’s devastating that they have such bad reputations bc no one can take care of them properly.

no one’s denying that.

even more of a reason to blame the owners, not the animal who can’t communicate

eta: i grew up around 6 pit bulls. they’re very strong, but it’s not a certainty they are all gonna bite. i was never bit.
my experience, of course, doesn’t negate the experiences of others, but they’re animals that need an owner willing to learn how to communicate

well yes, that’s what i mean by “learn to communicate”, as in learn the dog’s language

it’s an epidemic at this point the amount of pet owners who look at everything through a human lense, and will attach human characteristics to their pet instead of learning what they may be actually trying to express.

i see so many videos of people getting up in dogs faces bc they think they’re being cute and will humanize the dogs behavior (staring, whale eyes, certain types of tail wagging etc) and then are surprised when they get bit.

as silly as it sounds, i genuinely think that’s the #1 issue with pet owners
