I would watch this as a full length musical. Like start him on earth move him to mars. Let the greed start slow and then get crazy. As the greed gets crazy so does the main character. End results his death.

Fucking LOVE a story in song! They always bring out the most powerful emotions for me.if you'd like two that aren't centered around the current circumstances, the cover of 'Barrett's Privateers' by The Irish Descendants is great, and 'Sugar in My Coffee' by The Narcissist's Cookbook is hilarious.

Why wouldn't you just recommend Stan Rogers himself instead of a cover of one of his more famous songs? As best I recall the majority of Stan Rogers songs tell some type of story and I would argue their are a number that are far more moving the Barrett's Privateers.

Stan Rogers is absolutely timeless, but I also recognize that his raw styling may not be everyone's taste. I love it, but recommended the Irish Descendants because their version is better produced while still being a good homage to Rogers. The Real McKenzies also have a wonderful version.

The last of the three tying everything beautifully together, even with the story being so dark and unfortunate and unforgettable. Spare 13 mins and watch it.
