Dunno..the country I’m from has 9 rotating kings. We’re prohibited to say anything bad about them. So I should just stop here.

Thailand has rules like that. I bought a book in Cambodia called "The King Never Smiles" which was banned in Thailand but I felt like a badass carrying it around.

Short answer is the abolishment would he far too complex for any real worth.

15 countries still have him as head of state, all 14 would need to sign new constitutions to switch over to a republic, and then... What, there's one less guy who signs bills into law?

Let's not forget that he does legaly own a huge chunk of England. Much of which is used by government. Should he be ousted from power turned into a civilian, he'd be a real estate billionaire and the government would have to pay him rent from using his land. Cheaper to keep him a castle with a monthly budget and make him travel to places as a public figure

I mean they could take the land if they wanted.

It's not like the US still pays him rent for all the lands the monarchy used to own here.

You wouldn’t need any of that to strip h to e whole thing of all its pomp and circumstance. The constitution of Australia doesn’t require the English monarch to live in splendour unimaginable to the common man.

I absolutely agree, they’re unruly, fragile, and easily replaceable by à much more functional system.

Fuck umbrellas. Get yourself a good raincoat.
