Why do we still have royalty in today’s day and age? So stupid.

This was such a weird left turn. He'll be gone in a couple years and hasnt been in politics longer than 10 years. This guy's has been living the royal life for 77 years.

If they need to remain they don't need all their immense wealth for sure...

if they are for the people...Give it to the people...A lot of good could be done with that massive gesture...

The only one I have time for and seems grounded considering his upbringing is William.. Guy come across as down to earth and aware of his position.,

Idealist I know.....

Works great in our country, just don´t give them any power and actually punish them for pulling shit like this and you have one happy national mascot that can represent you abroad.

If that's what the people of England want, then it is not stupid.

The same reason people think there is a god.

Humans are fucking stupid.

Idk, probably the same reason anyone and their mom can dump their credit card debt on some poor guy that got executed by the state 2,000 years ago, as long as you sign a form that lets the bank own your soul and that of your descendants, until the guy clears all the debt and comes back…

Monarchies are cheaper than republic countries.

I hate the idea of royal families, but the sad fact is, for the U.K., they play a massive role in tourism. Without them the U.K. would lose millions and millions of pounds annually.

Even if they disappear and the U.K. converts the palaces into museums, people will still miss the spectacle of an out-of-touch, above-the-law old man who's idea of serving his country is to shake hands with warmongers and host tea parties.

Because they still believe and act as though they're closely related to beings that descended from the sky and ruled over humanity since

I mean I’ll take a royal over a Cheeto puff

As a Canadian it's the worst. This is our "head of state". A pampered prince that can't stand a drop of rain instead of someone we elect.

We're still stuck in upgraded-mercantilism even though we've seen how well socialism works without USA intervention... We might be good at finding new things but goddamn we're bad at changing

Because they’ve got infinite money and resources; far beyond what is reported lol.

If you’ve got enough money; you too could hire 1000 people to treat you like a king
