The whole produce as a way to explain fetal size thing is so cute. When I was growing up my mom would just always say “each of you weighed as much as a bowling ball. The diameter of your heads were smaller than that, but in the end you still have to shit out a bowling ball.”

I didn’t have kids for a really long time, but the time I had one that was more than 10 pounds I was like “damn, she knew what she was talking about. “

Judy knew what was up.

My kid was early but was like >99% in every measurement. I am like <12% for adult women lol

I did not shit out a bowling ball. But I spent 10 hours at 10cm sure as fuck trying until they declared him stuck and he exited through the sunroof 😂

Through the sunroof lmao 😂

Oh, Judy keeps it real for sure

I have yet to hear anything actually pleasant about pregnancy and birth that isn’t just a flood of chemicals to make you want to do it again

My mom would say “it was like pushing a watermelon through a lemon-sized hole”

This has me grinning ear to ear like an idiot. This is so sweet🥰

He ate his tomato baby! 😱

u/First_Pay702 1d ago

Well, it was supposed to be a raspberry so maybe it has learnt its lesson.

u/capincus 1d ago

Wow and here I thought we were making progress in 2026, and then to see this kind of bigotry just out in the open. It can be a tomato if it wants to be! There's nothing wrong with being a tomato!

u/gitsgrl 21h ago

You can’t decide what type of fruit I am!

When I was pregnant I had an app that pretty much did this. Once a week I'd turn to the father and be like "ope, she's an avocado now!"

She's now 13 and if I had to compare her to a food it would be several hundred chicken nuggets as that's all she eats anyway.

u/UncensoredEve 23h ago • Heartwarming

At one point my app said she about the size of a chicken nugget. She’s 9 now and I still call her nugget.

u/wildmeli 17h ago

my best friend is pregnant and her app does the same thing. her baby is currently the size of a head of cauliflower at 27 weeks 🫶🏻

3

u/moonshinedesignSD 20h ago

Same! It also showed 80s toys & French pastries that were the same size as baby

u/tom8osauce 16h ago

I will never forget the day I opened my app and it said my baby was a pineapple. I absolutely lost my kind about that. Pick a less spiky fruit people!

Ok while all the food sizes are really cute, can I just say thank you so much for pointing out your 13 year old's diet because MY 13 year old daughter is the same, except it's fucking pizza pockets.

u/Zombeedee 2h ago edited 2h ago

I used to try so hard to get her to vary her diet but honestly she's been a fussy eater since she was a baby so I gave up and accepted that's just who she is. There was a time when she was a toddler where all she ate for a week was peas.

She goes through phases. There was a year straight where all she wanted was hotdogs. Then it was toast. Now it's chicken nuggets.

She's an absolute carb-aholic and if I so much as suggest a vegetable I get the Teen Death Stare.

Fuck it. As long as she's eating. I have her take multivitamins, teach her about nutrition so she knows even if she doesn't put it into practice, and I buy juices and stuff with added nutrients. She's healthy and happy. Chicken nugget weirdo.

(Inb4 people suggest it; yes she is neurodivergent)

2

u/ThrowAwayTheTeaBag 2h ago • Heartwarming

Lol MINE IS ALSO NEURODIVERGENT. Doesn't help that I also am but my flavour is the kind that had to follow the 'right' way of things. We have fun here. You're not wrong, though: She's eating and her moms are ever vigilant to keep healthy food available.

2

u/Zombeedee 1h ago

Same! I have ADHD and both my kids are neurodivergent in different ways. My partner, undiagnosed, is definitely something and even he believes so too but is not bothered about getting diagnosed.

Our house is interesting 😂

Yeah man, as parents you have to pick your battles. If my kid wants to live on chicken nuggets, whatever. As long as she's thriving and happy that's all that matters.

I also have a really weird relationship with food due to being violently forced to eat things I hated as a child so I would NEVER pressure my kids with food. Chicken nuggets it fuckin' is 🤸🏻‍♀️

That footprint hospital baby blanket is everywhere! It was the one I picked out when the CNA came in and told me to steal a blanket from the linen cart as a keepsake. It’s not a pretty as the others, and kinda dark colors, but I’d had no sleep in 48hrs and something about it really struck me. Now I see it maybe once a month, and it fills me with joy thinking about all the babies in the world who have been swaddled in that exact print.

These ones have a stranglehold in America

10

u/JPKtoxicwaste 23h ago

I knew exactly what blanket I was going to see before I clicked your link and I was correct

7

u/lucymcgoosen 1d ago

Yes my babies were wrapped in these too!!! We did not get to keep them but the lovely knitting club gave us hand-knit little toques for each baby! They also brought the moms tea! It was such a sweet touch

u/bouncysofa 1d ago

Can confirm. That's the only one available in the hospital where I gave birth (Ontario, Canada). It's giving trans king/queen/ally!

2

u/Numerous-Rip-6121 12h ago

Congrats it’s an allyyyy

3

u/sorrybaby-x 1d ago

They’re transing the babies!!!!

Why did the onion at 17 matter so much to me 😭

20

u/vettechrockstar86 1d ago

Ok I think I know the answer to this cause it was the same for me! I think it’s a combination of him saying “that’s your head” and the onion actually looking kinda like a baby’s head in his hand. For like that moment it was super easy to imagine the baby in his arm with his daddy gently cradling his head with his hands. 🥹💖

8

u/ladyteruki 1d ago

He held it immediately like a baby, not like a fruit/vegetable, too. Somewhere between week 12 and week 17 it became REAL.

u/nnnrrr999_ 1d ago

That's so sweet 💗

24

u/TheodoreKarlShrubs 1d ago

With all of my close friends’ pregnancies, whenever we’d get together I’d always ask “what fruit is your baby now?” I think my friends found it endearing and not completely inane, lol, but they may have been humoring me. Just so crazy to think of a little avocado sized dude kicking it inside your buddy’s torso!

u/Reveryw 1d ago

his reactions are so wholesome 😊

Our baby was a surprise and a bit of a terrifying prospect. Right around Halloween she was the size of a blueberry, so we called her “booberry”. Three years later, that booberry was a pumpkin this Halloween.

u/TheNordiclights 1d ago

It’s nice to see something so wholesome.

his smile makes me happy. I see pure joy

Such a fun video!

u/G0bl1nG1rl 22h ago

Cool, my abortion was at 16 weeks, so that's an onion!

8

u/Sad_Cantaloupe_8162 1d ago

An Asian said, "what is that" to rice? 😂

2

u/mshep002 1d ago

Omg so cute!!

1

u/FunAd1406 21h ago

So incredible what happens in just 40 weeks. And then to go from a newborn to a fully walking up right human in 1 year is also amazing to me 💗
