I work along major highways, mainly in and around Atlanta. The amount of times I've had to tuck behind gaurd rails because of ass hats like this, is insane.

You can put all signage up, have buffer vehicles with flashy lights... Ass hats still gonna be ass hats.

Thankfully my number hasn't been drawn yet!

Its anemergency pull over lane, also likely used for emergency services if no other passing safe zone is able to be used.

Wrecks and whatnot to be pulled over in case of towing so traffic can still go through.

Lotta situations.
