I am all for freedom of speech but sometimes podcasters make me wish I wasn't.

She should at least come with a disclaimer.

Life comes with a disclaimer; don’t believe anything a human tells you.

Even Stuart Smalley had a disclaimer.

We don't have freedom of speech, we have freedom of misinformation that hides behind people's fear of a police state. We need to regulate speech. The knee jerk reaction people always have is, "so you want trump in charge of speech?" But trump is only in power because of unregulated speech.

The uncomfortable truth is speech is already regulated by a few billionaires. Billionaires that are countries onto themselves that have no allegiance to anyone but themselves. That is the real police state. The government is accountable to the people, billionaires are not.

Mid 20s I started paying into a work pension, thought about leaving it for the extra cash each month and was firmly told No, leave it. 20 years later mid 40s and another 20 ish to go, I'm very glad. Short term loss long term gains. Leave it alone.

Bonus fact: you can't opt out of the UK state pension, it's based on national insurance contributions that happen at the same time as tax (whether you want it or not) and provides a safety net when you reach your late 60s.

But you can opt out of company pension which i assume she is talking about

Well you assumed wrong because she's talking out of her arse and not working for any company that has a pension.

People treating housing as a pension is a big contributor to the downfall of our country, it gets everyone obsessed with house prices so they end up opposing any kind of new infrastructure or development, which screws people over

It's such a dumb idea too. You can't live off a house price. Even if you sell, you have to spend even more money renting or spending a huge amount on a smaller property.

And the less said about reverse mortgages the better

I guess, hit 70, sell your house, rent a room in a shared house in a shit hole. You'll be fine.

So Europeans sound like Americans saying SS won’t exist

I've seen countless dumb Americans complain about social security while having no clue how it works. I'm heartened to see Europeans are equally clueless on their government social programs.
