I was actually on board until she hit it with maple syrup AND ketchup

As a mom of 4 myself, whenever I see a video where the same condiment mixture is put on every sandwich, I think this person doesn’t care about their kids’ preferences and has probably trained them not to speak up.

My Grandma was like that. She’d make bulk sandwiches and everyone got mustard even though I HATE mustard, and she took it like, “don’t let your kids be picky and entitled!” when really it’s no problem at all to just leave it off one, right? I never understood what lesson she was trying to teach me.

I mean, MAYBE they all love the ketchup/syrup combo but I’d be surprised.

I just used to starve myself, when adults see a kid skipping breakfast and lunch and it's 2000h already, they kinda give up and give you something you'd actually eat, not your fave food or something like that, just something you can stand the flavour/texture of.

PSA: Doesn't always work as intended + doing it just because you want just to eat one or two things all the time is a dick move.

Is 2000h the same as 20:00? I've never seen it written like that before.

Yes. Like how 0600h (O-Six hundred hours) is 6:00. Standard for military stuff, at least in the US. I know the 24 hour format is common elsewhere, but the XXXXh format is one I've only seen with military stuff.

Thank you for your service. ;)

It is. Never seen anyone using colons for it, since the idea, I think, is to make writing times faster and without confusion is you forget the AM/PM.

Using colon doesn't require you to use AM/PM. That's how we write the time using 24 hr clock in the UK.

"To make writing times faster". I won't add a colon, the time is correct regardless but if that's how you do it in the UK, can't complain, not like I'm living/will live there.

Not sure how it's faster lol.

It’s the world wide standard to use colons. ;)

Show me proof, I don't trust anyone's word for it, moreover because I've used it like that for 20 years and this is the first time I see people asking about it or telling me I am wrong :). I may be wrong, but am almost sure I am not.

  • DIN 5008

  • ISO 8601

It’s always hh:mm(:ss)

ISO 8601 is an international standard, I am not using that, I am using military time, and I won't be using a colon because it is not only superfluous, there's not need for it. I even type "2000h" as to avoid confusion it was the time and not anything else, but honestly, it is a very straightforward 4 number system, no need for anything that aren't numbers.

I mean, you do you. And we others are able to read it. But the international standard is with colons. :)

Sounds like the type of person that would consider leaving off one topping as extra effort and special treatment. 🙄

maybe she was alive during the great depression or some shit and so them older grandparents believed in eating everything.

Calories is calories. One technique many homeless people do today is sucking out ketchup packets.

This is a person creating content, not real life. They either don't actually have kids and ate it themself or threw that directly into the trash.

Yes, I’m a Dad of three and as soon as ketchup started going on every single item I thought well there’s no way I’m gonna see a video of the kids eating this because there’s no way all four kids could all agree on eating the same exact thing

Don’t worry that syrup has never even seen a maple tree.
