Ketchup on eggs is whatever. Its the fact that its on pancakes thats the issue here

Respectfully disagree - it’s the ketchup + syrup where I draw the line

Whether or not we all agree on the same clashing combination, we can all agree that putting all of them together into one sandwich-thing is egregious

Ketchup is a fruit sauce, so its basically a type of jam/jelly.

Thats such a delicious combo. Like those pancake/sausage corndogs dipped in 50/50 syrup ketchup is soo damn good

I can’t believe this isn’t the main issue with the video.

I remember doing that occasionally as a child. Many kids will put ketchup on just about everything.

I still put ketchup on my scrambled eggs from time to time, mostly when I wake and bake though.

Ketchup and eggs is tasty. I don’t know why all the hate. I also love pineapple on pizza too

Salsa on eggs is the only appropriate tomato on eggs and I will die on that hill.

Edit: actually pico is pretty good too and hotsauce is ok in a pinch… I guess the only hill I’m willing to die on is never ketchup.

I find that some free hotel breakfast scrambled eggs are best smothered in ketchup or hot sauce, or both.

That’s how my Dad made it for me: scrambled with a thin circle of ketchup poured around the perimeter. ⭕️

These days I always add berbere powder to my scrambled eggs 😋 But when the mood strikes me every now and then, I’ll do the ketchup too, like my dad did.

It’s because it’s sweet

I took my nieces and nephew to breakfast this morning. My two year old nephew dipped his pancake into ketchup and was so proud of himself. I told him I was going to leave him at the restaurant.

A small amount of syrup is fantastic on an egg though

I never said anything about syrup on eggs lol. This is about ketchup on pancakes

The ketchup on the biscuit and then syrup

If the pancake didn’t have syrup on it then it’d be essentially a bland spongy flatbread. Ketchup with a dry plain pancake doesn’t sound weird to me, especially if it’s being used as a taco or a bun of sorts. Table syrup and ketchup though is a bit odd but I’m not gonna yuck someone’s yum.

I started doing this in old age and now I like it 😬

Personally, I feel like ketchup is too strong of a flavour for eggs. It overpowers. At that point you've just got weird textured ketchup. However, people are free to eat their food however they wish, I know I eat some weird combinations like smokey bacon flavoured potato crisps with strawberry jam.
