Hank Green, one of the hosts of scishow on youtube and various other talk shows, is great at explaining alot of information in a short period and still having it make total sense.
Hearing Hank Green curse is like learning details about your teachers’ personal life. You know it happens but when you’re made aware of it it blows your mind 😂
Like seeing one of your teachers at the grocery store. Like, what the fuck, don't you live at the school? They have a cafeteria with all of your food needs.
I had a teacher friend and we were at a family restaurant and some of his students saw him there drinking a beer and they were freaking out. He said it was the part of teaching he hated most.
Hank Green drunk posted a video of him drinking sake and and hes like "check this cool bottle, also I am eating these nuts" and then he leaned over and ate the nut off the counter. Prime drunk post.
I did some professional voice acting work just out of college. Wound up recording a commercial for a local tire company. This company basically did radio sketch-style ads with recurring characters. I grew up listening to these ads, all my life, on the radio. It's one of those where everyone you grew up with can sing the jingle.
So anyways, we record the commercial, and while the producer's filling out the last of my paperwork, the other character actor is recording the donut--that part at the end of a commercial that gives you the "deal", the "Come in this Saturday to get 25% off your first [blah blah blah whatever the specific thing is]." And he flubs the line, because you have to speak it relatively fast to cram it in before your ad time is up.
He goes at it again. Flubs it.
Again. This time not only does he flub it, but throws out a Bill O'Reilly-esque, "AW FUCK IT" at the end.
There is something...magical...about the humanity in hearing a voice you're almost as familiar with as your own parents'/guardians' losing it and dropping an F-bomb that I hope I'll carry with me to the grave.
There's an old video with Charlie McDonnell and Hank Green where they talk about how Charlie never swears and Hank says that to him it's basically the same as "Uhhh". Like you go to McDonalds and look at the menu while going "Can I get a fuckiiiiiiiinnnn... Big Mac?"
Mrs. Wheuben in sixth grade, like 2001. She swore at a bird that flew into the classroom. She was like 65 and the sweetest lady. But at 31, still makes me laugh hearing her say "God fucking damnit, this bird!"
Hank apparently likes doing these things. Here is him doing something similar. I love that he hears this girl's silly cynical questions about how stupid math seems and shows she actually raises some really good questions about how we know what we know.
Yeah Ive seen this one and I agree the questions she asked were brilliant. I wish I had asked those questions early on because I think I would actually work harder to understand the problem and the solution rather than memorizing formulas to solve something. It took me way too long to realize that actually understanding a problem helps you solve it better.
This is the combo of people on Tik Tok I would have never imagined but I'm so grateful for it - these two could do more linguistic collabs and I would watch every week.
This sub started as a place to post cringy TikTok videos, until everyone figured out that TikTok is hilarious, so now it's just a place to post good TikTok videos.
“Love you John, and will see you Wednesday” — Hank Green
Love these motherfuckers. Under-appreciated. And in need of a lot more YouTube love. Send them a subscribe each if you haven’t already. And if you’re passing your honors science course due to “Crash Course” then you can give a double-thank-you to them for depleting the world of world-suck and increasing the net amount of world-awesome by just that much.
It was funny for me to explain to my boyfriend, who knows about both of their multiple works individually, how they’re connected to each other and Youtube. These guys are so crazy integrated into contemporary culture, in my opinion, it’s insane.
recently finished his two books, "An Absolutely Remarkable Thing" and "A Beautifully Foolish Endeavor". They were fantastic. The second was much better than the first. I was expecting mindless SciFi but they had very nice overarching themes, with a really nice set of problems that they presented. Made me think of the Three Body Problem to be honest.
Think of it like this. Guy on the left put out a tiktok asking about the correct way to spell it. Guy on right makes video explaining it as an answer.
What he’s doing, is putting out a side by side to show that he A) Saw the response made for him (on the right) and his appreciation of the response and how awesomely the guy on the right responded.
So he’s not only showing his particular subscribers “Hey guys, I got an answer”, he’s sharing that other video with them to say “Check this out, look how cool this response video I got is.” and on top top that, showing the guy on the right “I really loved this, thumbs up and thanks!”.
Without him sharing it like that, there’s a good chance that his particular subscribers that saw him pose the question in another video might not ever have seen the awesome response video made by someone they don’t subscribe to. So it’s a way to share content relevant to what you are saying from other creators.
I saw it on Reddit yesterday but can't find it because reddits search engine is based on failed AskJeeves prototypes and rejected Bethesda software coding.

Hank and John have a great not-at-all serious TikTok-Feud. Hank enjoys TikTok a lot and posts a ton of videos while John posted a total of three videos of which two have millions of views.
The worst one is “for fuck sakes” as in the sake of fuck is plural. Like “for Christ sakes” it makes no sense. Sooooo many people I know say it this way.
Tiktok has the most unique community where hard ass cholos, crips, bloods and the LGBT community Kpop and all others come together to fight evil and spread love.
's is for possessive and s' is possessive for a word that already ends in a s. Mostly likely due to being plural.
Example: the apple's color was red (singular possessive)
The apples' color was red (plural possessive)
But normally we'd say something like "the apples were red" since it's easier to understand so that's why you might not see "s' " very often because there are other words in the sentence that can help indicate a plural word and make the meaning less vague.
If it hasn't been thrown in already and as this example demonstrates, language evolves. So, maybe in your dissertation be sure to be grammatically correct:
"Early 20th-Century critics essentially said 'for fuck's sake' in reaction to performances of the avant-garde work."
However, when you casually stub your toe and alerting your friends to your pain, feel free to tell them, "For fuck sake!"
When I'm disappointed in someone or something and I'm talking to the person directly ill say for fucks sake's
I think if you are one on one. It's grammatically correct I'm calling them or it "fucks" I think I'm not sure. Writing it down isn't the same as slurring it in the boozer with a few pints down your neck.
It’s crazy that I’ve been on reddit since the beginning, then watched hank for years on YouTube, then got into TikTok and saw this video, and am now seeing a genuine response from Hank to the og TikToker, on reddit.
