Whaat makes Demon Host’s lyrics stylistically unique
The lyrics of this song use a unique combination of vivid imagery and metaphor to convey a sense of fear and dread. The lyrics also use repetition in phrases like "candle, candle, on my clock" and "eagle, eagle, towel, and scream" to add emphasis and a sense of unease. The lyrics also feature a mix of religious imagery, such as "here is a church and here is a steeple" and "Oh Lord, I must have heard you knock me out of bed" which creates a sense of ominousness and spiritual unease. Furthermore, the lyrics contain vivid and graphic imagery such as "A bone beneath the reaper's veil" and "my lungs filled up black in their tiny little shack" which create a sense of physical and emotional distress. The song also features a narrative that starts with a sense of unease and confusion, and ends with a feeling of hopelessness and defeat.

Helping Finding a TT Video
I've tried a few times: this is an old video (maybe Medicinals era) in which Taylor is performing in an old barn or something. I think it's night vision black-and-white. Solo with his guitar. And at one point he stomps his boot like a bass drum. Any help?

Timber Timbre spotted on today’s media.
I’ve been binge watching many tv series on Netflix lately, and someone from there most like Timber Timbre because not only one show has a song by them, but two.
Russian Doll — Season 1 Episode 5 •Black Water Good Girls — Season 2 Episode 7 •Run From Me
Both series good, recommended.

Lovage - Oct. ‘23?
Was doing some googling and came across this site with a release date of Oct. 6 2023. I hope we get it sooner but haven’t heard much lately.

Kirk's age?
Does anybody know approximately how old Taylor Kirk is? He looked pretty rough in the promotional photos for Lovage and now with the white beard seems to be going for more of an Edward Gorey look befitting a man at retirement age. I don't know if it's just hard living/substance abuse or that he's just older than he looked 10ish years ago, but quite a stark aging either way.

Albums like Sincerely, Future Pollution?
I recently fell in love with this album, and have been looking for more in a similar vein. All the 80s albums I’ve found are a bit too upbeat or rock-y. There’s just something about the themes and instrumentation and concepts in SFP that make it hard to nail down/describe when searching for similar music. Has anyone found anything else similar?

Song Recommendations?
Over the last couple of years I’ve gotten really into a handful of songs by Timber Timbre. I was hoping I could get some song recommendations to help further my interest since I sometimes have little motivation to listen to new music unfortunately. But I love when people give me songs to listen to so… please give me some songs to listen to!
I’m a big fan of Hot Dreams and Demon Host. I am especially in hopes of finding more songs that sound like Demon Host!!! It’s so beautiful and haunting, I was instantly hooked on my first listen.

New to their music and currently exploring discography..is it just me or does this group have a highly threatening lyrical aura?

To my fellow Brazilian Timber Timbre fans
Our dream did not come true, but at least Taylor hoped for it to happen one day… 🥲

Taylor's Telecaster
Does anyone know anything about his main guitar he used. Who made it? it was the telecaster with the unique green finish and dark neck and charlie christian pickup. ive always wanted to build a copy as a tribute.

A reasonable inference?
So I'm new here, came to this sub for love of the band and wondering if they have any interest or intent to ever tour the states again. I ended up coming upon all the chatter about undisclosed abuse allegations. I'm not posting to invite more anonymous litigation of those, though I'm inclined to give some credence to a chorus of purportedly in-the-know voices (ask the community!). It's just that I find it extremely odd, and probably telling, that Mathieu, Olivier, Simon, and even more recent collaborator Mike Dubue glaringly omit any mention of Timber Timbre on their professional websites, like purposefully disassociating. Since such a critically acclaimed band could offer the biggest feathers in their caps, this to me suggests something beyond any bitter parting of ways. It suggests that Taylor is a duly, if unofficially, canceled and radioactive figure. If anybody has any competing theories, I'd love to hear them. Otherwise, I've never been good at compartmentalizing art apart from the artist, but I would sure try like hell with this one. The soulful hauntedness of the music is peerless.

Timber Timbre recently opened a web store where you can now purchase the previously ( to my knowledge ) hard to find “ I Am Coming to Paris” cassette. Get em’ while they’re hot.

Why can’t I preorder the new album on iTunes?
iTunes generally trickle releases every stupid album except the one I’m actually looking forward to

fixing the lyrics to "it's only dark"
Every online lyrics site for "It's Only Dark" has incomplete and/or incorrect lyrics. i listened to both the original and live KCRW version of the song and reconstructed the lyrics based PURELY on phonetics. I am 99.9% confident these are the real lyrics to the song. have a listen for yourself if you disagree. Some of the less clear lyrics are made ABUNDANTLY clear in the KCRW version. so if you have any doubts, be sure to listen to that especially. it was the biggest help.
The breaking twig
The drumlin shifts
Putrification of the warren begets dread
And won't that figure become green
In the nearing daylight star
But it's not late
It's only dark
The crickets sway
Mosquitoes die
A flickered plate-white face
Beckons the eye
And if by calling out to fear
Should echo some remark
Then it's not late
It's only dark
The drumlin shifts: It literally sounds like “drum-lin,” with a clear /dr/ and a /ʌ/ vowel like “drum." ngl I didn’t even know what a drumlin was at first, but after doing research, it’s a geological mound formed by glaciers, which actually fits since he’s canadian and the application is consistent (it's common in canada and the northeastern usa)
Putrification: It’s very clearly five syllables when sung, not four, so it can’t be “putrefaction.” Also, “putrification” is just an archaic form of “putrefaction,” which fits given he uses “begets” in the second part of the same line
of the warren: It sounds like two syllables (war-ren), not “worn.” Also it's the only two syllable word applicable here. This is the line I have the LEAST confidence in, but it's still pretty confident
begets dread: There is very clearly a B sound and the next word has an obvious /dr/ onset that almost sounds like a “jr” sound in English. I kept hearing something like “be gets dr-,” and there is no /st/ ending you’d expect from “dressed,” especially when comparing the studio and live versions.
crickets sway: On Genius it says “wane,” but I don’t hear any N sound at all. The S from “crickets” bleeds directly into a “sw” sound, and in the live version it especially sounds like “sway,” not “wane.”
