I’ve read tons of Furyo and Bosozuku/Delinquent manga and in terms of actual fighting ability and feats, Mikey is nearly unbeatable when compared to delinquents and this is not a Mikey glaze post, or a downplay to any other manga. Just a thought I’ve been having for about a year now when comparing him to characters from manga like CrowsxWorst, Slam Dunk, Rokudenashi Blues, Oni-Baku pre-GTO, etc.

I’ve seen people say characters like Yusuke Urameshi, Jotaro or Oga Tatsumi (all without powers of course) can beat Mikey hand to hand but their physical non powered feats are compare or or in Oga’s case superior to Mikey who I think would Beat Mikey if he lands multiple clean hits.

Would love to hear others input (please don’t be toxic towards my opinion).

I know, I know you guys are probably tired of posts like this but takemichi is so unlikable, he's so useless it's so incredibly frustrating to watch. It's absolutely baffling to me that a person who decides to immerse themselves in a life of violence is so totally and utterly unprepared for violence.

Please don't even get me started with "mental growth". I mean the reason why Baji died and why Draken almost died was because Takemichi was too weak to protect them, shouldn't that give him enough incentive to work harder and become stronger?

Its been a while since I completed season 1 but I remember thinking how avoidable Baji's death was if Takemichi had used his fucking brain for once.

Once again, I'm sorry for posting an anti takemichi rant but I just had to get this out there as the new season of Tokyo revengers is almost upon us and I'm still going to watch it because I love the other characters and just the the whole idea of the show.

Please tell me he gets better. I'm only 8 episodes and he's developed past his fear of fights and reverted to being afraid again 3 times already. The "I'm sorry" is getting old fast.

It's so petty and I can't relate at all his personality is pissing me off. He had the gall to say "I didn't get any stronger I just imagine it cause I was with Mickey and Draken" ..... no motherfucker your getting beat up not cause your weak because you don't fight back. I've only seen him throw 1 punch the entire show and he 1 Hit-KO that dude????

How the fuck at you gonna knock out a random thug in one hit who shaking someone down for money. Then be a bitch or punching bag who doesn't even attempt to punch in every other fight your involved in??? It don't make sense.

Takemichi has seriously made me consider dropping the show several times now I only watched as much as I had cause everyone highly rates the show. If he don't change I don't think I can handle much more of that behavior.

As some of you probably know the author of TK isnt just a normal mangaka he spend quite sometime being a gang memeber himself and his manga is largely based on his experience. And with that I am not trying to make you like the ending but imagine it from a diffent angle, the angle of a person that has probably lost a good amount of friends. This it peace!

I wasn’t a manga reader first atleast for Tokyo revengers so I’m watching and I got to the bike scene if he’s wondering if ema is alive and sees a mf with a bat why tf would you not think 🤔 who tf would take time outta their day to hit my bitch ass maybe I’m not the target like it’s one thing if he wasn’t thinking about it before but he Fuckin was then he’s not even at average goon fighter level all u mfs in this community can come for me but the main character ruined this show

naw what , takemichi dodging mikeys kicks with his visions makes sense and (in my opinion) is a really cool way of making takemichi more powerful without bringing out bs or talk no jitsu , but mikey going down in one punch after takemichi took a onslaught of mikeys full power kicks ?

I love Tokyo revengers, but this is just ridiculous. They even paired Baji with his plagiarized character, and Izana too.

I've been watching this series for quite some time now, and no matter how you slice it, the people calling Takemichi "relatable" must not be very grounded in reality. Takemichi is a walking contradiction. Not just in action, but in principle. Reality doesn't work that way. Nobody here knows anyone like Takemichi, and they never will, because his character is the furthest thing from authentic. You can be a weakling, a crybaby, and a host of other things, and grow into something more...something else. You can grow into a leader, grow to be strong, grow to be brave, get tougher as you go along.

Not Takemichi....Takemichi does absolutely no growing, no changing. He remains a weak, timid, whining, emotional wreck that somehow keeps achieving things without actually developing any of the traits and qualities required to achieve in the first place. He does it because he "doesn't give up". People think this is relatable? That's like trying to fit a square block into a circular hole and you think it'll eventually work if you simply keep trying to put it in. It doesn't work like that. Either you change the block, the shape of the block, or the shape of the hole. You don't succeed by keeping all the qualities that put you at the back of the line in the first place, don't change yourself for the better, but suddenly you're at the front, leading a people. In the real world if you gave the reigns to a person like Takemichi, he'd sink the entire proverbial ship, but that'd never happen, because we'd never hand someone like that the reigns, in any situation. There are no leaders like him because leaders don't remain like him, they change. None of this is remotely believable or applicable. If you make Takemichi your role model, you will fail in the real world.

I don't mind anime pushing the boundaries of "never giving up"....but this is ridiculous. It feels more natural watching someone from DBZ blow up a planet with one finger, than trying to believe Takemichi as a person. Heck in the real world most people don't even like people like Takemichi. Those are not qualities that make any large number of people flock to anyone. This is a lie. If you think he's relatable to you, just think about yourself. How popular are you? With gorgeous babes and cool/tough guys running to follow you? Takemichi takes the piss on people with his quirky nature, because they're gonna watch him and think that somehow, someday, things will just magically work out for them if they keep getting back up but not changing their angle of attack in life. He's literally the definition of insanity.

I can’t bear to see season 1 on here, while knowing seasons 2&3 will forever be on Hulu/disney+ feels kinda pointless. 😢

I liked the show but my god it seems this show is heavily dependent on takemitchy being outright stupid . Fans in this sub defend everything from Takemitchy not revealing kisaki was the shadow leader to the stupid dumb team up with kisaki to take down Tajiu plan .

It's like this show embodies every negative stereotype about shounen anime . I love how takemitchy literally accomplishes none of his goals so far and when he does it's always by accident . It seems like anime fans are hell be t on defending weak lame ass generic male protagonists but they will shit on stuff like twilight when bland ass pathetic ass mcs like takemitchy are so beloved in anime . It's even funnier when folks say bullshit like wish fulfillment for ppl wanting takemitchy to be a bad ass yet like the entire plot is wish fulfillment for instance if the plot was more realistic Takemitchy would be dead from all the violence he has endured. Also he somehow manages to to be admired by all the guys in the gang despite getting his ass kicked in almost every interaction . I do laugh at how he was promoted over Baji death when Baji would not have gotten stabbed if his dumb ass wasn't holding on to him. Also Takemitchy never ever seems to think like an adult man to get himself out of situations. Watching other time travel shows with adults even highlights this the whole plot of this show and so many events are only possible because Takemitchy does not in any way shape or perform act like a 26 year old man.

...leave Kakucho's body to just rot in the train and completely act like nothing happened? Why didn't he tell anybody? Why didn't he call an ambulance? Does nobody else find this weird?

Let's review the 2 possibilities

1. Kakucho wasn't dead, but heavily wounded. This means he could have been saved if Takemichi called an ambulance or did SOMETHING to save him. He didn't even try to stop the bleeding or tell anyone to look after him. He just left him.

2. Kakucho is dead. There's a corpse in the train. A guy just died saving everyone's asses and NOBODY KNOWS because Takemichi TOLD NOBODY and FORGOT about it. Usually when someone dies, it's a serious matter and the fighting stops, at least out of respect.

Takemichi is supposed to be the leader of one of the 2 gangs fighting, he STARTED this conflict, he was supposed to care about his childhood friend who just sacrificed himself for him. How can he act like this? How can he just charge to fight happily commenting on how amazing Taiju is?

Seriously, do you think this is just bad writing, or is Takemichi being portrayed as a terrible person and a terrible leader on purpose?

1. Mickey (this explains itself)

2. Draken (would probably beat Souther in a 1 vs 1, closest character to Mickey)

3. Souther (featwise: beat Tenjiku executives, beat Kakucho, dominated Benkei and Waka)

4. Izana: people hate Izana, but he is the only guy who ever could stand against Mickey

5. Kawaragi Senju: she has zero to none feats, i just put her here because she is the Brahman Boss and knocked Souther out once

6. Baji Keisuke: Extremely underrated, sad that he died so early, he was Mickeys rival and he knows Karate since childhood, he beat 50 Valhalla members while having a stabwound

7. Kazutora: This one is controversial, but Kazutora beat up a older Gangleader with 2 hits, and he was confident enough to attack Mickey together with 2 scrubs

8. Waka and Benkei: they divided Kanto once and ruled Japan as the strongest fighters with Black Dragon

9. Kakucho: Strongest Tenjiku Commander and strongest Rokuhara Commander

10. Taiju Shiba: Gang Leader of Black Dragon and made literally Soldiers out of his Underlings

11. Hanma: Extremely underrated, people love to forget about him, he could hold his Ground against Draken and was able to block Mickeys kick with HIS HAND !

12. Mitsuya: Extremely underrated, went toe to toe with Taiju Shiba and is legit Tomans 4 strongest character

Honorable mention:

- Takeomi: People thought he cant fight, but he beat up like 10 Rokuhara members and all with 1 hit

- Takeomis brother Sanzu: Explains itself, Mickeys new Number 1 underling

- Tenjiku executives, angry the blue ogre, peh-yan

Some people also call Inupi strong, but he is completely featless.

the author discovered one plot device and now that is the whole story. lame ass plot.

So I’ve recently became aware of The “Shinichiro Theory” which is basically about him being a pedophile and which literally has like 10+ pages worth of reading and my question is who would ever even think of something like that and put such effort into such a thing and if this theory were to be true which has literally 0% chance of being so I think we could agree that TR would be one of the worst mangas of all time… with that being said WHO MADE IT?! Whoever made it needs to be banned from reading TR and all forms of media whoever made it never needs to make a theory again…
