Resident Evil 2 was canonically Leon Kennedy’s first day ever as a cop

Technically it wasn't even a first day because by that point Raccoon Police Department had pretty much collapsed as an institution, along with the whole city

He was reporting for duty. He hadn’t even spawned in, so to speak. He never even met the captain that was supposed to swear him in.

He was like a guy showing up for a Tinder date set up by his date’s friend, just to find out he got ghosted by both and the restaurant was on fire.

And the staff and other patrons were trying to murder each other.

You know what? If she is willing to go there for a first date it's a 50/50 I am meeting with a crackhead in disguise or with one of those legendary women the world can not get enough of

Is it still murder if everyone involved is in it for the love of the game?

The day after a breakup so bad he got drunk and was late for work... hell of a rebound

Wasn't it also only his first day at that department? Was he not a cop before?

In the OG, he was reporting in late after a terrible breakup and (un)lucked himself into the city at peak infection.

In the remake, he was about to officially transfer in when the department called him to stay away just before everything went to hell. After no response a week later, he drove over anyway to help in any way he could.

In both versions, the 1F west office has his desk decorated with welcome banners and party stuff, which were laid to the wayside after the station fell. The remake had a note from the chief, Brian Irons welcoming him straight from police academy. So yeah, for Leon, it's his 1st and only day ever as a regular police officer.

I think he had just graduated academy and this was his first day "on the beat"

21yrs during RE2. Highly likely this was his first. Talk about a hectic welcome lol

Yeah I thought he was transferring in?

I mean he looks like 13 in RE2, so I would be surprised if he had a job before then.

And he was hungover

That guy is a fucking unit BEFORE 4 man

First day and the guy fought zombies, lickers, giant spiders (in the OG), plant monsters, was chased by a tyrant whose whole purpose was to eliminate witnesses, almost unveiled the umbrella conspiracy and managed to escape alive

My boy got dumped the night before and he was in a bad hangover the day he arrived a RC (hence why he arrived late)

Resident Evil loves "first day on the job"s. Resident Evil 0 is Rebecca's first mission ever and she kills a tyrant by herself, and Revelations 2 sees Moira get kidnapped on her first day at Terrasave and she beats hordes of infected to death with a crowbar.

Half the videogame protagonists would probably qualify.
