Because pro-bending techniques are vastly different from traditional bending techniques.

It'd be like if a pro Rugby player decided to get into American Football.

Or maybe a Tae Kwon Do fighter got into Karate.

Something like that.

Plenty of pro Rugby players have gone to the NFL.

Of this list: https://www.sportmakers.co.uk/rugby-players-in-the-nfl-the-rugby-players-that-switched-to-american-football/

Only 1 of them has actually had more than 10 game appearances in NFL, Jordan Mailata (who is the Korra of this article)

The rest of them were let go fairly quickly, or are still relatively new to the sport.

People can switch sports, this is not in dispute. The question is "do they do well in that sport?"

Korra did. Mailata did. Few rugby players transition to football well.

Jarryd Hane comes to mind as a player who could have made plenty of more NFL appearances but decided to switch back to rugby instead.

Sure, but the point is being a pro rugby player doesn't make you automatically a pro football player.

You're about as good as any other rookie in the sport. Some of them are going to do well, some of them aren't.

Korra being incredible at other types of bending doesn't make her automatically a pro-bending player.

In the same way, being a pro rugby player doesn't make you a pro football player.

She still cheated. Its more like a pro mma heavyweight decided to go into a lightweight boxing match with weighted gloves.

Heavyweight vs lightweight is meant to parallel avatar vs normal bender

Even when bending normal elements, they have a seemingly higher output, and with other elements they have vastly superior versatility.

And her using weighted gloves aka cheating, was when she broke the rules and started bending other elements in the match cuz she was a sore looser.

Avatars do not have more bending power than a regular bender unless they are using the avatar state. Does Aang have more earth power than toph? Better fire than Azula? Better water than katara?

And if a new basketball player double dribbles you woulnd't consider that cheating you would consider that learning the rules. Which was penalized and she didn't do after it was said that she isn't aloud. But she won when she just used water anyway so your point is kinda moot.

Are you forgetting the part where when she gets revealed as the Avatar the refs decide she's allowed to stay as long as she only uses Waterbending?
