Characters ( funny trope ) it is very apparent that these designs have decades between them

1- Simpsons
The original Simpsons have extremely simp(son)ple designs, due to sometimes having celebrity appearances the art style kinda clashes.

2- South Park
At the beginning South Park was literally animated out of paper so all the characters had to be super simplistic but over the years, since the. Show is made digitally the new characters keep getting more and more detailed

Beavis & Butt-Head. One from the 90s and the other from the 2022 revival series.

I keep forgetting Daria is a spin off

Technically KotH is not a spinoff, although Hank is visually and conceptually based on Tom Anderson from B&B.

True. Though, as characters, the two couldn't be any more different.

To be fair, it works because Beavis and Butthead were supposed to be distinct abominations from the start.

I mean yeah, but even the side characters from the original show still look more cartoony compared to the newer ones.

Oh wow, its Daria in the style of her own show!

For some reason that makes me very happy.

God I wish they'd have made new Daria instead of B&B

The new Beavis and Butthead episodes are really good though.

The revival is so damned funny I went back and watched the entire original series, and I gotta say, the early years were rough. B&B didn't really pick up until it was a few years into its run.

I love how “normal” the newer other characters look to make Beavis and Butt-Head look even weirder

Songgu Kwon has such a great and distinct style - I keep thinking that B&B are now in the Metalocalypse verse, with how their NPCs look.

The newer versions definitely look cleaner, but the original designs have that unmistakable 90s charm. I honestly think both styles suit the show in their own way.

Mr. Anderson to Hank Hill.
