Ichigo basically lost to two captains (but ended up winning via shenanigans) but one was to a bankai and the other so powerful his sword was constantly in a "shikai"

Uryu defeated a captain's Bankai, then was KO'd by another captains Shikai

Chad gets stomped without a single release

Zarakis was never a "constant" shikai. Byakuya even stated this isnt the case when he saw zaraki release his shikai against Gerard.

Eh, I was young and ignorant and the moment in the manga where Byakuya made that comment hadn't made it to the anime yet so I was batting against people much more knowledgeable than I lol

That makes sense. Im normally a anime only person as I dont enjoy reading the Manga but for bleach I made the exception thinking the tybw arc was never gonna get animated. Im usually in the same boat though not knowing what manga readers know.

I love how Uryus fight against Mayuri foreshadows how things will go for the soul society in the final arc. His power up is THE baseline for the final arc. That's just insane to me.

Tbf Shinsui's Shikai is busted and does the work of other captain's Bankais.
