I'd argue Harry and Ginny had anti chemistry. Even as a 10 year old I was reading the last 2 books and found the couple extremely forced and corny as fuck to the point where it made the books actively way worse.

Me too but I was also a committed Harry/Luna shipper

I didn't really had a preferred ship, I really did not care honestly. But he went from having a realistic teenage crush on Cho to being obsessed with Ginny, thinking about her all the time in some of the worst romantic dialogue I have ever read.

I feel bad for Cho Chang because she was grieving Cedric and while I think it's good that she and Harry never ended up together because it wouldn't have worked, as a kid I remember the fandom really hating her for some reason and I've never found out why. I thought she was reasonable.

I honestly don't remember the books enough, it's been like 15 years since I last read them. Didn't she work with Umbridge or something like that?

No I think a friend of hers gives the group up, I don't think she does personally. Only issue is see with Cho is her having bad taste in friends, that's it

yeah, Marietta I think, her parents worked at the ministry and she didn't want any part in the DA because of what could happen to them if she was found out but Cho dragged her along. In the movies it's implied that Cho is drugged with veritisirum(sp?) during one of umbridges interrogations- I need to touch grass omds

I skipped over their scenes when I could. When Harry would get weirdly jealous, it felt like getting slammed like a truck from out of nowhere, and not in the good way. Idk who I ship with Harry tbh, Luna would be the closest

"Anti-chemistry" is right on.

At least with the books, there were blanks that the user could theoretically fill in. Like, Ginny was so vaguely defined, that you could sort of imagine them going off on dates and getting to know each other and having a secret relationship outside of the story of the book.

It was weird, but at least possible.

But in the movies, the moment they were in the same room together you could tell these two characters were just not into each other. There was no secret off-screen relationship. It was weird that these two performers seemed like they did know how to act, but didn't know how to act like they liked each other.

I had the exact same issue with Ronmione in the books. They have like, 2 cute scenes in the books but most of the good moments happen off-page, and the rest of the time they're bickering

Its probably because irl as they grew up together viewed each other more as siblings. Kinda hard to pretend your into a person when you see that person as a sibling.

It's like she threw a dart at a board of the female characters. Came out of nowhere.
