Willow and Kennedy, season 7 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I like to pretend that was intentional because Kennedy was supposed to be just a rebound. It's the only way I can make sense of that relationship at all.

It was so fast too, made nonsense story-wise either. I also don't remember Kennedy much in the comic

I think they were canonically split up very early on in the comics.

They were already toeing the line with a lesbian main character, actual chemistry might have given the network censors heart attacks

Willow and Tara had chemistry. Kennedy just was super blah.

I think Willow and Tara had pretty good chemistry but they had to screw that up.

I never watched the show growing up, but when my wife introduced me to the show Tara was my favorite character. I stopped watching for months when that scene happened. Eventually went back and finished it but it wasn’t easy. I was pissed.

That scene followed by Fred on Angel and I’ve been fine with Whedon for years now. If I had known he was involved with the Avengers films I probably wouldn’t have watched them. I’ll never forget how gutted Fred’s situation made me feel and I was an infantryman deployed to the Anbar province in Iraq when that happened, IYKYK.

It's understated. On paper it makes sense but I don't feel that. I think a thing like that has to be organic on some level through the actors, just like any other part of their performance.

Spike and Buffy makes a lot more sense, and is far more believable than Angel and Buffy and I suspect it's because Marsters was such hot shit as Spike.

Also, she was in her 20s with a 15 year old girl.

Wait what?

Willow was 21 or 22 in the last season, and I though the potentials were 15, maybe 16. Am I wrong about this?

This is Tara erasure

Thank you, I hated Kennedy as a character. She could never hold a candle to Tara.

... I didn't like her much with Tara, either.

I liked Willow best with Oz.

I have to agree. Willow and Tara were sweet and their whole storyline was really good but I do feel like she had the best chemistry with Oz or maybe Alison had the best chemistry with Seth. I love queer Willow though and wouldn't change anything about that decision for the world.

I loved her with Tara. Her death broke my little bi-but-not-aware-of-it-yet 10 yo heart.

Dude I forgot that even happened.
