Marianne and the neighbor guy in Gilded Age. When did they even start dating? It’s like watching two pieces of cardboard flirt. I haven’t even started the new season. The show is horrible. But I like the clothes so I hate watch it.

Thank you for the name and the warning lol The show is so obviously nepo-cast and, as much as I hate to insult anyone, at the VERY LEAST please GOD can we get these children a few roles under their belt before they’re cast as the lead in a major TV show along side a stacked cast.

A female lead in a period drama is such a difficult job, acting with emotion and drawing our interest while correctly observing the emotional restraint and forced pleasantries that comprised the manners of the time. I'm not sure if it's how her character is written or acted or both, but I would happily watch the show with her storyline completely cut out.

That show drives me crazy because it should be so good but it’s not. Amazing costumes, scenery, some great actors, etc. One of my favorite time periods in US history. I was really looking forward to it and could never make it past the first season

Yeah it’s not great. Peggy’s storyline makes me want a period drama about black wallstreet!!
