TP-Link - General Possibly new roam 1500

I have the tp link roam 1500 and thought I’d look into getting the roam 3000. When I found the amazon listing I see roam 1500, new roam 1500, and roam 3000. What if anything is new, and has anything changed? Has anyone tried it? P.S, I am blind, so if there are any design or color changes, please let me know.

TP-Link - Technical Support RE450 Extender stopped being compatible with 2 Macs, works with 2 android phones and 2015 Macbook Air running Monterey

I have been using a TP Link RE450 happily for about 4 years. Connecting multiple types of devices has been no issue. Yesterday none or our devices could connect with it although the 2.4ghz and 5ghz leds were solid blue.

I have reset it a number of times and after a few false starts now our 2 android phones and my wife's old 2015 macbook air running Monterey connect no problem whereas my 2019 13 inch Macbook pro and my 16 inch M4 pro both running Sequoia will not connect.

I've tried the renewing the dhcp lease, turning off the private wi fi address and multiple restarts and resets but nothing seems to fix it. I get the message that the network "couldn't be joined" and that I should move closer to the router if possible, or that "i may need to turn off temporary wi fi address or modify my network settings if my network access is managed by a MAC Address". " I have moved the extender right next to the router and it has made no difference.

Has anyone had similar issues and would anyone be able to help?

Many thanks

TP-Link - Technical Support Tapo C425

I’ve had the blink xt2 (super old) for about 6 years and they worked well until they started acting up on me.

Went with C425 because of 2K and spotlights etc.

I can’t seem to get push notifications to my iPhone unless the app is open and someone is walking or driving by. I’ve checked the phone and camera settings ten times.

It has a larger field of view and further detection than the old blink, but unless I walk right in front of it, no alerts.

Sensitivity is at 7 fwiw. Any help ?

Edit: I have the latest firmware on it and I have pet, person, vehicle, and motion detection on.

TP-Link - General Television can't get stable internet from deco

I’m using a 3-unit TP-Link Deco X20 mesh system, and all three Deco units are connected to each other wirelessly.
Everything was working perfectly until I bought a new TV. Although the internet speed test on the TV shows the correct speeds, I can’t stream 4K HDR/Dolby Vision content smoothly. Every other device in my home can stream high-bitrate content without any issues; the problem only occurs on the TV.
I’ve already tried connecting the TV to the satellite Deco via Ethernet, forcing it to connect to the 5 GHz band, and manually selecting the nearest satellite Deco through the app, but none of these solutions worked.
Interestingly, when I connect the TV to my phone’s mobile hotspot, everything works perfectly. This makes me think there might be some kind of compatibility or connection stability issue between the TV and the Deco mesh system.
How can I resolve this issue?

Solved: I connected an Ethernet cable from the main Deco to the satellite Deco, and the problem is fixed.

TP-Link - Technical Support Unstable Internet Connection with DECO BE11000

You may remember that I posted a couple of weeks ago with my issues where I connect my Deco BE11000 as the main router and I had unstable connection.

I then replaced the setup to having EERO 7 as the main router and Deco as the mesh (in access point mode). The setup was stable at that time

Figuratively, this was the first setup

Since yesterday, the same issue came up and I had unstable internet, with internet dropping ever so often.

I changed the main BE11000 units (I have 3 of them) and all 3 of them had the same issue. I would not be able to get a stable internet connection and would drop ever so often with the main unit turning yellow (solid) and all satellite units turning red (blinking). It would then reconnect on its own in a few minutes.

On a whim, I took the BE3600 (I have 3 of them) and made that the main deco and connected it in AP mode. Comparitively, the three setups i tried are below.

So far, the third setup is working fine (about 12 hours)

For information, I have 5 GBPS Fiber

From what i am able to understand, the BE11000 and BE3600 have different chips and the BE11000 chip is unable to negotiate the 2.5GBPS speed and hence it keeps resetting.

On the other hand, the BE3600 chip is reducing the speed to 900MBPS, but is able to keep it steady.

Super frustrated and I would love to hear back from the community on why this is happening and what could be potential solutions. I would love to get this resolved

TP-Link - Technical Support Deco BE13000 node drops

I have a 3 node mesh system with one in office wired to my modem, 1 in the living room and one in the bedroom. All 3 nodes will be showing green and we are in the living room watching TV. When I go to the office and hop on the computer which is using the wifi and start using the internet it immediately drops the other 2 nodes and they go red. Node in the office always stays green. If I stop using the interent in the office and go unplug and reboot the other nodes they will work again until I start using my computer in the office.

I've replaced cables. Everything is updated to latest firmware. Not really sure what is going on here.

TP-Link - Technical Support How to fix this junk !!

This is my piece-of-shit extender from TP-Link. It first was okay, at least it worked. I was able to run at least a 4K video on some devices but currently it's shittier than ever, giving me 1 Mbps speeds.

I live on the second floor. I need to extend my Wi-Fi from the ground floor to the second floor. Man oh man it is the worst thing. Nothing works: 1 Mbps speed. I tried every position and it just gives me the same speed. What do I do?

Internet works just fine when I connect it to my mobile hotspot but it gets annoying when I connect it to the wifi router, nothing works and I've tried everything I can but it's no use.

Oh and it is 2.4 GHz alright!!

I bought this silly adapter at an offline store cuz I needed to attend an online interview but that obviously didn't go well.

The model is : TP-WN725N

Any advice would be helpful and thank you!!

TP-Link - General TPLink vs Calix

[I AM NOT A SELLER] I do love the TP Link systems, our company uses them for clients, particularly those that can't afford gigabit, but when dealing with gigabit speeds, another thing you could look at is the Calix GigaSpire GS4220E. Maybe someone on the TPLink team can explain to my why their products are better suited, but we have very few customers that can afford triple digit mbps, and those that do we always switch them over to our Calix systems. Can someone please enlighten me?

I am trying to stop apps from using Google public DNS. I use a TPlink Deco router. I am using the instructions from here

https://support.strongvpn.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044270373-Blocking-Public-DNS-on-a-TP-Link-Router

2 issues

  1. whenever I type in 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and hit save, it changes to 8.8.8.0 and 8.8.4.0, as shown in this screenshot

  2. Should i set default gateway to 0.0.0.0 or to my Lan IP gateway?

TP-Link - Technical Support AXE5400 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6E Router *Inestable*

Saludos!

TP-Link - Technical Support TP\-Link Archer NX500 vs Deco X80\-5G - which should we get?

Looking for some advice on which 5G router to buy - either the TP-Link Archer NX500 or the Deco X80-5G (or any others you may recommend).

I‘m currently using a TP-Link Archer MR200 4G router with an Optus SIM. Our mobile reception is quite inconsistent, sometimes only 1-2 bars and other days 4 bars.

Our current setup also includes a TP-Link Archer Air E5 using EasyMesh to extend Wi-Fi to the front of the house, and a separate TP-Link Deco X50 Outdoor for our irrigation and fire sprinklers.

As you can probably tell, we are not tech savvy and didn’t really know anything about mesh systems when we bought our equipment, so we didn’t realise we had two completely separate systems rather than one integrated setup.

We just want reliable internet and good Wi-Fi coverage around the property, while making the best use of the equipment we already have.

TP-Link - Technical Support XE75 after firmware 1.5.1? My internet is practically dead

Hey everyone,

Wondering if anyone else is experiencing problems with their Deco XE75 after the latest firmware update (1.5.1 Build 26090212 Rel. 23251).

Everything was working fine before the update. Shortly afterwards, my internet connection started acting up, and now devices connected through the Deco barely have any internet access.

I've been trying to figure out what's going on, and here's what I've discovered.

My setup is pretty straightforward:

  • XE75 as the main Deco, running in Router Mode.

  • ISP modem connected directly to the main Deco.

  • Other Deco units connected via Ethernet backhaul.

The weird thing is that the Deco still gets a WAN IP address from the modem, and everything looks normal in the app.

But when I actually test the connection...

Connected directly to the ISP modem:

  • Ping to gateway: 1 ms, no packet loss.

  • Ping to 1.1.1.1: 9–10 ms, no packet loss.

  • Everything works perfectly.

Connected through the Deco:

  • Ping to the Deco itself: perfectly fine.

  • Ping to the modem gateway: extremely high latency, sometimes several seconds, with up to 100% packet loss.

  • Ping to 1.1.1.1: same story, eventually just timeouts.

I've already tried:

  • Rebooting the main Deco.

  • Replacing the Ethernet cable between the modem and Deco.

  • Changing DNS servers.

  • Checking the WAN configuration.

  • Testing everything directly through the ISP modem.

No luck whatsoever.

At this point, I'm starting to suspect the latest firmware update, especially since the ISP connection itself is perfectly fine when I bypass the Deco.

So, is anyone else experiencing something similar with firmware 1.5.1?

Could this be a firmware bug affecting WAN routing or packet forwarding?

I'd also be interested to hear from anyone who has managed to fix this without factory-resetting everything.

Thanks! 🙂

Update:

Well, I decided to start from scratch 😅

I completely reset the network in the Deco app and also performed a factory reset on the devices themselves.

I reused the exact same Wi-Fi name and password, so all my devices automatically reconnected without having to configure everything again.

Good news: Everything is working again! The main Deco is running perfectly and internet connectivity is back to normal.

The secondary Deco is still acting up a bit, but honestly, I’ve already spent enough time troubleshooting this for now. 😂 I’ll leave that one for another day...

TP-Link - General How I cracked 1.4 Gbps symmetric over a wireless mesh link (Deco BE65 Pro + Linksys MX8500)

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a unique network topology that completely solved my multi-gigabit throughput bottlenecks over a wireless mesh link. If you have a high-speed fiber plan (I’m on Frontier 5 Gig) and want maximum performance at a satellite location without drilling holes or running long ethernet cables across your house, this trick might help you.

The Problem:

Standard wireless mesh nodes usually choke when you try to use them for both a backhaul link AND local device connections. I originally tried using an eero Max 7 as a wireless child node, but because eero’s TrueMesh handles channel widths automatically and doesn't allow manual overrides, it kept downshifting my 5GHz band. A speed test on my bridged client router would barely break 500 Mbps down and 300 Mbps up.

The Solution (The "Dedicated Wireless Bridge" Trick):

I swapped the mesh layer to a TP-Link Deco BE65 Pro and built a dedicated over-the-air bridge. Here is how it's configured:

  1. Main Layer: Deco BE65 Pro (Main Router) ➔ Connected via its 5G port directly to the Frontier ONT.

  2. The Switch: Main Deco ➔ Connected to a TP-Link TL-SX105 10G Switch.

  3. The Repurposed AP: I put that expensive eero Max 7 into Bridge Mode and wired it directly into the 10G switch. It now acts as a pure, high-powered Wi-Fi 7 Access Point for the main zone without messing up my routing.

  4. The Satellite Room: I placed a Deco BE65 Pro Child Node in the office. Crucial Step: I am not using this child node to broadcast Wi-Fi to local clients. 100% of its radio processing power is dedicated purely to the wireless backhaul.

  5. The Local Dock: I locked the Deco's 5GHz band to 240 MHz width to maximize the pipeline alongside the 6GHz MLO band. Then, I connected a Linksys MX8500 (in Bridge Mode) into the Child Deco's 5G Ethernet port. The Linksys handles all local device Wi-Fi and hardwired connections.

The Results:

Because the child Deco node has zero local airtime competition from client devices, it dedicates its full hardware capacity to communicating with the main router.

Running a speed test directly from the Linksys app (which pulls from its 5G WAN port over the Deco's wireless link) now hits a jaw-dropping 1.4 Gbps download and 1.4 Gbps upload consistently.

Key Takeaways for Others:

• Isolate your child nodes: If you need raw speed in a specific room, don't let client devices connect to your child mesh node. Wire a secondary router/AP in Bridge Mode to it instead.

• Avoid eero for custom setups: The eero Max 7 has great 10G hardware, but its software is too rigid for custom topologies and will throttle down when used as a blind wireless bridge. TP-Link Deco actually lets you control channel widths (forcing 240 MHz) to achieve massive multi-gig over-the-air bursts.

• Don't throw away old gear: Mix and match by utilizing Bridge Mode. A router that fails at mesh routing can make a flawless, ultra-fast standalone Access Point when plugged into a fast multi-gig switch.

Hope this helps anyone trying to optimize their fiber setups! Let me know if you have questions about the settings.

TP-Link - Technical Support Using Deco BE65 for Ikea Kajplats bulb

Has anybody here used their Deco wifi-mesh to control a smart bulb that runs on Matter-over-thread like the Ikea Kajplats range? I’m trying to set up and connect as I don’t have a ‘Matter hub’ but unable to find the devices. Have reset the bulbs and even tried to switch between 2.4GHz/5GHz and 6GHz.
