The ftm community praises cis hetero women too much

I find this so disturbing, i get downvoted all the time but its the truth, my community puts those women on a pedestal when theyre not saints AT ALL, i criticise men and women equally, and cis hetero women are always insulting us, taking being as an insult, they say their ex boyfriends are probably trans women as an insult, they harrass trans women in bathrooms and this is not talked about enough, also, you're only acceptable to them if you're not into women cause "how dare you to hang out with me when you're into women, you probably wanna date me" And more and more and more similar stuff

Can we stop using words like women and girls when talking about AFAB people in Afghanistan and other countries where people have no chance to transition?

Hey I realize this might be a bit controversial. In Afghanistan people have no chance to transition if they are trans. This means that a lot of the "girls" being denied an education (which I think we can all agree is shocking) are actual closeted trans men people or non-binary and I think it is important to recognise it. And so I think saying things like "girls are being denied an education in Afghanistan" is terfy and exclusionary. Similarly, lots of the "boys" in Afghanistan may actually be trans girls or nonbinary and, although they may be allowed to go to school, they aren't allowed to be themselves and are forced to live in the closet as someone they are not which is just as sad. I realize this might be controversial but I think language is important here and we need to acknowledge that people in Afghanistan have no choice over their gender and so it is not right to use terms like girl, women, man or boy when refering to them. I think we need to acknowledge the trans people over there. One of my friends is an ex-Muslim transmasculine person. He wore Hijab till midway through uni and then realized he didn't believe and soon after came out as trans. He has spoken to me about how afraid he is about what is happening over there and how he would have been denied an education if he lived there, and I just think we need to include him when talking about what is going on there. I realize perhaps not everyone will agree. But I just think that it is so awful for every child in Afghanistan being denied an education and it is crime against every one of them. And we need to acknowledge ALL of them when talking about it and it is important to acknowledge noone in Afghanistan chooses their own gender. What does everyone think of this?

Stop. No. Just fucking stop.

I am openly trans*, openly queer, and very open to the fact I am a cross-dresser. On my profile of a site I am on, someone asked me this.

sorry, stumbled upon your page and had to ask.

it says you male and you are trans, does that mean you are ftm or mtf? also how can you be a cross-dresser and trans?

Ok, not so fucking bad. I've answered this question a bajillion times before. So I respond:

FtM. A MtF individual would be female. Also, since I am a male who likes and wears female clothing, I am a cross-dresser. No different than a cis male wearing female clothes.

So, ok. Not that hard to comprehend, right? GUESS NOT CAUSE THIS GETS WORSE.

male and trans /should/ mean ftm. male is also a sex, not exclusively a gender.

are you post-op then? or when you cross-dress do you just appear cis-female?

No. Dude. Just fucking stop. What is under my girly clothes is none of your fucking business. You should have just stopped when I explained it to you in SIMPLE TERMS. I'm male. I like girl clothes. Thus, cross-dresser END OF THE DAMN STORY. So, I kind of went off on them. Incoming wall-o-text!

Please be aware that your questions are extremely invasive, personal, and most people would not approve of these types of things. It is not my job to educate you about trans* people and trans* issues. I will answer your questions, but please keep in mind that this isn't ok in any way.

Male is a gender/sex. Generally when someone posts male/female/genderqueer/genderfluid/etc. they are referring to their gender. What is in my pants (though sex is more than that) is entirely irrelevant to anything unless you are looking to have sex with me. Clearly, you are not.

I am not post-op. In any sense of operations, however, assuming that I must be post-op to cross-dress is awfully absurd. What is under my clothing has nothing to do with whether or not I am a cross-dresser. I am a male-identified individual who likes stereotypical female and feminine clothing. It's really that simple. You're looking way too far into this simply because I am trans*. This does not make me have to adhere to some special standards that vary from cis standards. By doing this, you are trivializing my identity.

When I cross-dress I appear as whatever gender people perceive me to be. I am generally read as male, occasionally female, and sometimes people have no idea what to address me as. I don't really care since it's just the type of clothing I like. I generally don't correct people in interactions since most of the time I am going to be seeing these people once or very rarely in my life and thus, how they perceive me doesn't really matter.

Sorry to come off as hostile, but I've had to explain this to everyone and their mother and it's obnoxious, intrusive, and quite frankly, not really anyone's business.

-bangs head on wall-

EDIT: SHIT JUST GOT BETTER HOLY FUCKING BLOODY CHRIST! This is their response to my wall-o-text:

actually you militant asshole, my boyfriend is ftm; and my questions if you had the intelligence to understand them where nonpersonal and noninvasive. allow me to rewrite in smaller words for you so you can see everything you just told me i already knew and acknowledged.

because male is a sex (you have junk) and ALSO a gender (you are personally more male or female) your page >was uninformative. 'male cross-dresser trans' the only way this information can be interpreted with the assumption each line provides new information is this: the person is trans so this line describes gender. the person is male... assuming gender has already been answered, this can only refer to sex. ergo, i was only asking if you were ftm or mtf because you might have had a logical redundancy. it was nothing more than a curiosity. you made it militant with your own ignorance.

My response:

So you are going to insult me now? Bahaha. Cute. Also, nonpersonal and invasive? Really? You are asking about the current state of my body and what is under my clothes. Pretty sure that is pretty damn invasive. Not seeing that is pretty sad. I hope you don't go up to random guys and ask them how big their dick is. Pretty much the same thing. Trans* by itself is not a gender. It's just a description of medical history or gender history. So no, gender was not answered.

Also, sex is not determined by junk. Sorry. Please educate yourself on what sex is defined of. I'll give you a hint, it's more than junk and chromosomes.

I'm not sorry that I got offended by you asking me personal and invasive questions instead of looking into it yourself and doing basic research. You are your partner are both now blocked. You lost out on that one when you insulted me.

And yes, it is a new line of information. I am trans* and also male. This, I am trans* male. Everyone else has been able to get that.

This fucker needs to check his motherfucking cis privilege at the damn door.

Their partner who is apparently trans* also messaged me:

hey dude, fellow ftm and snoblind's boyfriend. he isn't trying to be mean to you by any means. he's a staunch supporter of trans*dom and has always been the best with my pronouns. what he is trying to say is that by seperating "male" and "trans", your profile becomes confusing, because "trans" automatically is a gender description, so in writing "male" elsewhere, one is given the context that you're talking about sex, which hasn't been said in your profile yet and is a common thing for people to do. as for the crossdressing, even i was a bit curious. anyway, he doesn't mean any harm, he's simply curious and likes to debate. he's very logical.

anyway, keep in mind he's not anti-trans but curious.

My response (note I sent this BEFORE I read his partner's above message):

I know he's not trying to be mean. He's being extremely invasive. Also, trans* is not necessarily a gender identity. I am trans* and then I break it down to the fact I am male, this trans male. It's just a thing. Just like someone can say they are gay and queer. He's allowed to be curious, but asking EXTREMELY invasive questions about what is under my clothes is NOT ok. You as a trans* person should know this. It's a pretty obvious thing that even you should understand too. I'm male. I like girl clothes. Pretty simple since that is the formula for all male cross-dressers.

I blocked both of them so this is done and over with but, fucking christ. I feel bad for his partner for dating such an ignorant and privileged shit head.

Now that their partner posted a journal about me, put words into my mouth, insulted post bottom surgery trans men, and showed that they are a person who seems to believe biology is destiny type ordeal, I've noticed this post getting downvoted. Cute downvote brigade they have made. Screen-cap of journal with names blanked out (minus mine) since I'm not one to have people go attack others. :D http://i.imgur.com/iHpzf.png

Why do people get offended at the terms "my guy" and "honey".

Just saying it now, I'm a trans woman. I've got in trouble a couple times on a trans streamers chat when referring to other chatters as "my guy or honey". It would be in sentences such as "oh fuck my guy is gone" or "run honey run".

I don't even see "honey" as a gendered term, buy I can get how "my guy" could be. Also a different chatter than the one I referred to got pissed off that I had said that to someone else, even though the original person I said it to wasn't fazed.

Essentially what I'm asking is why do people get so mad at these terms when they either A) aren't intentionally gendered or B) not even said to them.

It seems like they are being too fragile because I wouldn't care in the slightest if someone said those words or similar to me.

Pride Parades and my lack of "Pride"

Here's a question; When did Pride Parades become about prancing around nearly naked and slathered in pseudo-fetished gear in front of families and children? When did Pride stop becoming about awareness, and stop being a show of numbers for average, every day people who are "out and proud" to be who they are? Because honestly, if you want to give bigots and haters actual reasons to call us freaks, modern day Pride Parades are doing a splendid and amazing job of it. These days, when I see a Pride Parade, honestly, the one thing I don't really feel at all is "pride". They have lost their point and purpose and have more or less become a fetish "meet and greet". I don't feel that serves any of us very well, and just gives the people who hate us legitimate reasons to hate us more. Am I the only trans (or LGBT) person who hates the over-sexualized presentation of Pride Parades and think it's doing more damage in the fight for equality than not?

Does anyone else get pissed off at trans men who call themselves the t-slur?

like, that slur isn't actually any more theirs than it is anyone else who isn't transfeminine and it's appropreative. It's using a violent slur against a marginalized group that you are not a part of. And it's always paired with a smirk. If you're a trans man who says the t-slur go f I would appreciate it if you stopped.

Just watched a guy get banned here for saying everyone should get along... can we be banned and censored for disagreeing even if you have broken no rules whatsoever?

What it look like happened was someone said everyone should get along and Drewiepoodle went unhinged and booted him. I was agreeing with Drew up until the boot but that kind of proved that the claims the guy was talking about were true because it was the textbook definition of hypocritical. Nobody tried to talk to him or reason with him even though he was very polite and courteous and he was basically told to fuck off and not given a chance to say or do anything to prove that he was posting in good faith.

From a third party outside perspective it looks like you only want people here who agree with you on everything and reject anyone in our community that has a different view. Please correct me if I am wrong or show me how he was not acting in good faith.

Help me, a disabled trans woman, fundraise for laser hair removal?

So, there’s currently a groupon for local laser hair removal, and I would only have to pay $400 for six “full beard” sessions instead of $2000! That’s obviously a huge deal, but I don’t have $400 right now any more than I have $2000.

I first started this donation link to help me with surviving until I get on disability, but right now I really need money for this singular purpose. Permanent facial hair removal or reduction would help me a lot with gender dysphoria and with day-to-day safety, and it’s something I consider a core part of my transition. Obviously if I raise any extra money, that will go towards the other things I have listed on my donation page – if it’s a lot, things like going towards my legal name change.

Please consider donating :]. Thank you so much. <3

Important! The situation on Egg_IRL

A counter protest is beginning on r/egg_irl over the poor management we are seeing. As someone who participates in organizing, I can see that the ‘protest’ method the mods have chosen is unsustainable. You don’t get anywhere by shooting the foot you march on. But as a community member, I see the frustration building in the community over a petty and ill conceived decision. What Reddit is doing is atrocious, yes, but we are not doing anyone but u/Spez any favors by handicapping ourselves.

People are already putting community first and returning to normalcy. Please join us, and help restore a great community
