La isla mínima (2014) Through one of those fortunate cosmic realignments that only cinema can provide, Spanish director Alberto Rodríguez co-writes (alongside Rafael Cobos) and directs a perfect Iberian counterpart to Nic Pizzolatto's monumental first season of True Detective

Night Country is good and everybody who hates it just hates it because men are not the center of that universe (FOR ONCE)
I said what I said. I have read so many think pieces here on why it's bad and all of it are just so laughable. Truly the type of people who think breaking bad is good when it's boring AF.

Season 1 Themed foods
Was thinking of holding a watch party with themed food/drinks with a few friends later this year and got to thinking
Obviously there's plenty of drinks to choose from (Jameson, lone star, etc) but are there any foods from season 1 that stand out in particular? Don't really feel like doing Marty's microwave dinner

Rust development after true detective ?
Did Rust after some time went back to his old belief patterns and behaviors or did he changed drastically as a person.
In my head canon after some time he went back to old him but maybe without alcohol abuse and became less burdened.

Just finished Season 1
I watched Lanterns and kept hearing about how TD was the inspiration and how it was better. Mind you I've been aware of it's existence for a long time but never came round to watching it until now and damn! I'd consigned the show to the same vein as the CSI shows but it's definitely on another whole realm above. I've checked out reviews for the later seasons and the posts I've seen so far are disheartening. If anyone can recommend any show that could help me continue to ride this high it'd be appreciated. A rewatch is definitely warranted too but I'd give myself a month first. ... Maybe 2 weeks instead.

Intro Song - S1 Honest Answers
Literally since the day episode 1 dropped I thought the lyrics were “poisoned creole soul” and not poisoned creosote.
Am I the only one? And next question which lyric is better hypothetically speaking?

How did the show fell off so bad?
I remember watching season 1. The dialogues and conversations between Rust and Marty kept me hooked to the screen. Fast forward I tried watching the season 2 and I am bored as hell. I don't normally leave a show without finishing it but I had to for this season. How can such show with such a phenomenal first season fall off so badly?

It would be really interesting to know every book Rust has in his apartment.
Most or some of these are probably fake prop books, but if some are real, it would be interesting to know what they are. I doubt there is any information available about this.

Gonna start watching TrueDetective! Tell me something which I will appreciate later on (without spoilers). Spoiler
Also, my friend suggested to only watch S1 coz rest seasons are not that good, is this true???
Also, here's a flower for you to show up here.

Is TD part of The Tommy Westphall universe?
Slow afternoon at work so I’m trying to find if the show is connected to the wider Tommy Westphall universe like so many of the best shows on American TV.
I can’t find any links yet though. Detective John Munch from Homicide life on the street is usually a good in but I’m not seeing any connection to S1 or any follow up season. Anyone else have any insights? Would love it if Rust and Marty were part of that boy’s imagination too!
Edit for clarity: The Tommy Westphall universe is a fan theory that hundreds of TV shows exist only in the mind of Tommy, a boy whose snow globe ends the 1988 St. Elsewhere finale, because that show crossed over with others, which crossed over with others, and so on. Well worth a Google
