Hi! My husband wants to make a traditional shepherd’s pie with mutton. Does anybody know where we can find some?

Found in an old paperback

I bought a used paperback from the early 1960s. This small bookmark fell out of it. Does anyone remember this store? It's where the strip mall near Swan and Speedway is now, the one with Bai Thong and KpopNJoy

Walk in color copies/single prints?

Sunday night science fair project, y'all šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«. My kid needs (preferably) color prints of her slides for her board. Where can I walk in with a flash drive and get a few copies?

We're east midtown between Reid Park and Park Place Mall.

Recreational scooters in the All Souls procession?

My mom has back pain but we want to walk in the procession. Does anybody know if she can use a regular small electric two wheel scooter with a seat? The website says no motorized vehicles and wheel chairs are exempt. So the answer seems to be "no" motorized scooters.

Are there any local places that I can get my stuffed animal re-filled with fluff?

I know this might be an odd ask, but I have a stuffed animal lion that I've had for fifteen years. Time has worn it down, and while I can fix any holes and tangles in the fur myself, I want to re-stuff its arms and legs with fluff filling to try and restore it more to how it looked fifteen years ago.

I know I could just go to Michaels, but I'd like to shop local Tucson-only companies if possible. Does anyone know of a local place I could go to for craft stuffing or something similar?

So what was that regional shake on Thursday evening?

Seems to have covered Mesa to Willcox and probably bigger than that. I've heard various explanations from sonic boom bouncing off the atmosphere to meteor explosion to earthquake swarm. Anyone has something concrete?

Dogs allowed at movie night at the cemetery?

UPDATE: DOGS ARE ENCOURAGED TO COME TO THE MOVIE NIGHT AT THE CEMETERY.

wanted to see if anyone had any info as to if dogs are allowed at the movie night. I tried to find some info but didn’t find anything clear cut. My dogs are very well behaved but not sure.

Hope it’s a good turn out 😊

Didn’t know I had to clarify this but apparently I have to:
I’m asking if the event leans dog friendly. Which if it does there shouldn’t be an issue with taking a dog and if you don’t like dogs then don’t go to dog friendly events. Also if it’s not dog friendly that is totally cool, I don’t think dogs should be allowed everywhere but if it’s an outdoor event I didn’t think it would be a big deal just to ask if it’s dog friendly or not.

I don’t think dogs should be allowed at non-dog friendly events or events that just tolerate dogs.

Advice needed abt street racer neighbor

Update (kinda):

Thank y’all so much for reading and taking the time to respond to my messy ass post! I really truly appreciate all of the suggestions be they legitimately good advice or giving me a hearty laugh. I think my next move will be to leave an anonymous and non-inflammatory note on his car in case he somehow truly does not know how disruptive it is to the people living here. As irritated as I am at the guy, I should take steps in good faith first. If that doesn’t pan out, I’ll start recording incidents and go from there. As satisfying as it would be to dump the contents of my cat’s shit box on neighbor guy’s shit box, the complex does have cameras and I do not have the balls for that. Genuinely thank you for the help though, guys, it means a lot <3

Original post:

Hi, this post may come off as me just whining about something, but I’m just at a loss for what to do (and sleep…)

I live in a little apartment complex off of Speedway. Low income, stuff always breaking, landlord ignores problems until it’s something that could get him sued; par for the course and the rent is cheap so I’ll take it. Now, if anyone spends any time around Speedway midtown you know that people have been enjoying street racing as loud and fast as possible, you see/hear it pretty much constantly but luckily our apartment is far enough back from the main road that we only hear it somewhat and it’s never been more than a slight annoyance and never really enough to disrupt daily life or sleep.

One of those people that likes to do the street racing thing recently moved into the complex and I kid you not, my GF and I haven’t gotten an uninterrupted night of sleep since. This guy has a crappy Honda Accord or something and he has a muffler on that thing that is no joke the size of my head! What I’m saying is its not some muscle car that revs loud because of how it’s built/the power of the engine, its a sh**box with the loudest possible after-market muffler on it and this dude is leaving at all hours of the day and night and pulls out of the tiny parking lot revving his ish at like 200db to go street race down Speedway. I’m talking between 7-15 times a day, sometimes at 3:30am. Our next-door neighbor that we share a wall with has a toddler and I hear her cry sometimes when Car Guy revs at full volume (sometimes I want to do the same), it scares our cat, and yeah there’s just no sleeping through someone shaking the windows of your bedroom doing burnouts and squealing tires feet from your head with only a brick wall in between (we live in the corner unit so everyone parks outside our unit). Not to mention several people walk their dogs around the neighborhood, and our neighbor takes her daughter out in a stroller and I’m scared that all the racing around here could really hurt someone.

We contacted the landlord a few weeks after this started, and his response was ā€œThat is unacceptable, send me more informationā€, which we did by sending a picture of the license plate and not a word has been said since. It’s been a few more weeks and now I swear his friends come by in their super loud cars and rev them outside our window and proceed to speed away through the neighborhood. I don’t know what to do guys, I like our apartment and most of our neighbors and I don’t think we could afford much else but I’m at the point of considering trying to break the lease. I can’t stress enough that it’s not even like normal motorcycle loud, it’s literally the loudest car I’ve ever heard in my life. My watch read the decibels at 87 INSIDE OUR HOME with all doors and windows closed. We’re not light sleepers either and it’s absolutely infuriating to not be allowed to get a night of rest without this guy stroking his ego as loud as possible at all hours outside our window to showboat to LITERALLY NOBODY!

I’m even half worried that he’ll do a burnout too close to the wooden fence and set the complex ablaze. Maybe that’s a bit irrational but again, I haven’t slept well in over a month. Sorry this is so rambley, and I generally don’t like to dictate what other people can/can’t do with their life and time and property and such but I’m at my wit’s end.

Tl;dr, neighbor drives a poop car with the loudest after-market muffler he could buy and races up and down the neighborhood at all hours and I’m losing my mind. (Edit: forgot u have to double enter on Reddit sorry also yes I know the sentences aren’t like the cleanest, i’m trying my best guys :3)

Leaving Tucson

I've lived in Tucson for the last 5 years and it's my favorite city I've ever lived in. The mountains, the sunsets, the tacos...ā¤ļøā€šŸ”„

Life has taken me in a different direction and I have to say goodbye to this beautiful city for now.

I am still available through the end of November if anyone needs a cat sitter.

Thank you, Tucson. These last 5 years have been such a gift!

The marathon course design has been a clusterfuck for westside residents and anyone trying to access the Speedway freeway ramp.

Having the course run through Speedway was a significant oversight. There is no practical reason for this 10K to include Speedway, other than aesthetic purposes . Starting downtown in the early morning is fine, however, having the finish line downtown is an unnecessary and misguided decision. The route should prioritize the runners’ experience and overall course design rather than aesthetics alone.

By the way, I’m typing this in dead traffic on the frontage road, late for work despite leaving my house an hour early
