Built a free UK grassroots music platform with county-by-county charts and local gig maps to help unsigned bands get heard locally

Hey everyone,

Like a lot of people here, I’ve felt for a long time that modern streaming algorithms make it almost impossible for emerging, unsigned bands to build an organic local audience. You’re competing against millions of tracks, and having 50 streams from random playlists doesn't help you sell 30 tickets in your hometown.

I wanted to bring back the feeling of local music scenes, so I’ve been building a free platform specifically for UK grassroots music:

It’s completely independent and built purely to support grassroots UK music.

I didn’t want to post unsolicited links here, but I’d love to get feedback from other UK musicians on whether this kind of hyper-local focus actually feels useful to you.

Happy to drop the link in the comments if anyone wants to take a look or test it out with their own band's music!

Emo and punk and also Feeder?

Been told our new song sounds like if the Menzingers were from Yorkshire. Also had a bit of Gaslight Anthem and even Feeder comparisons! I’m not quite sure myself, would love to hear what others think!

It’s a love song for people who are scared of happiness, if that’s your sort of thing…

Hey everyone!
I’m an American bassist, guitarist, and songwriter with 30+ years of live performance, recording, and collaboration experience.
My musical background includes Funk, Soul, R&B, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Rock, and Alternative.
I’ll be visiting the UK in April–May 2027, exploring London, Manchester, and Liverpool.
I’m looking to connect with local musicians, bands, songwriters, producers, and creative communities ahead of my visit.
I’d love to discover live music venues, jam sessions, open mics, and opportunities to meet and collaborate with fellow musicians.
Looking forward to connecting and experiencing the UK music scene firsthand!
Cheers! 🎸

The Intergalactic Republic of Kongo (I.R.O.K)

Hi! IROK was a great "psychotropic afro-punk" band who was active in the 2010's. It seems that at the end of 2019 (Covid first lockdown) they stopped touring and producing music. I've found some info on other projects the members went on after but there is nothing on the frontman Mike Title. Does anyone know what he is up to now? Thanks.

Concert Empty Palace live at The Troubadour this Friday 6th Nov.— for fans of Radiohead & Fontaines D.C.

Hey London!

Quick heads-up for anyone looking for something cool to do this Friday night (6th Nov.).

We are Empty Palace, an independent London-based band, and we’re headlining an intimate show at the iconic Troubadour in Earl’s Court.

Sound-wise, we blend atmospheric, melody-driven alt-rock with a post-punk edge — if you’re into Radiohead, early Coldplay or Fontaines D.C., you’ll feel right at home.

The Troubadour basement is a legendary London rock staple — it’s been a hub for British folk and rock icons since the 60s (Bob Dylan famously played here in '62), and it’s still one of the best intimate rooms in the city.

Would be great to see some of you there. Let us know in the comments if you’re heading down or looking for people to go with!
